Hôtel Casa Matteu

This little hotel was an absolute treat and one of the great surprises of my trip. The hotel is very clean and spacious rooms. The rooms feel very modern almost as if they are probably built within the last year or so. The people that run the hotel, understand the true meaning of hospitality. They were extremely accommodating to me. Upon learning that would be departing early before breakfast, they proceeded to provide me with fresh baked croissants for me to have in the morning the night before. The croissant was absolutely fantastic. I can only imagine what their full breakfast and dinners are like. This hotel is a true definition of what hospitality should be taking care of their guest to make sure that everything is great. I would highly consider staying at this hotel again when in Corsica.

We have never before experienced such rude staff. We came too early for check in and were hoping we could just sit in the restaurant and wait but the hotel (male) staff SHOUTED at us from the balcony (even before we had come inside) that we are too early and “IT’S NOT OKAY” and waved us away. We left astonished. When we came back later my husband sat down to talk to him about it, and then the same staff member stood up with very aggressive body language and again raised his voice and did not acknowledge or take in any of the feedback. We were quite shocked! The other staff member was laughing at us, and said “what is it you want??” - as if they have never received feedback before or at least are not interested in it. It is very difficult to understand why they treated us this way (or why they have chosen this line of work) The room was nice and clean but it was completely overshadowed by the experience with the staff.

Cet hôtel est une pépite ! La vue dont vous bénéficiez est tout simplement époustouflante : vue sur les montagnes et la mer….. la chambre est spacieuse, décorée avec goût et une baie vitrée de la largeur de la chambre vous permet d’admirer une vue exceptionnelle sans vis-à-vis ! Et quel calme ! J’y retournerai à coup sûr lors de mon prochain passage à Ajaccio !

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à la Casa Matteu. Les personnes sont charmantes et attentives à toutes nos demandes. Ce séjour a été très reposant. La piscine est vraiment super.
