Beautiful property on the water. The balcony was in need of some work. Wood was falling apart and paint peeling. The room was lovely and overall a great place. Just needs some exterior renovations

Parking is not always convenient and spaces are small. But otherwise, it was a lovely stay.

Beautiful upgraded room; wonderful corner water view. Patio/deck marginal--needed upgrade. Check in awful -- didn't get into room until 5:00 p.m. because of staff shortage.

Great view of water. Beautiful sunrise. Great location. Not many amenities, but a great spot to sleep and have morning coffee. :)

The section of the tides that we were located in is one of the oldest sections of the hotel. The exterior is badly in, need a painting and repair. Our guest room, however, was furnished very nicely and was very comfortable. The upgrades were noticeable. it had an expensive deck, which was fabulous as it overlooked the sound. The paint was peeling and in very poor condition, but sturdy and we enjoyed our time in the late summer sunshine. We would definitely come back due to the location. I certainly hope the exterior upgrades will happen soon, though , as I would like to see the hotel remains successful and operating. This could be a big drawback for other people.

Great views. Very clean. Updated interiors. Exterior paint and decking need a lot of work. Didn’t stop us from sitting on the deck to enjoy the waterfront views.

The hotel was clean and well located. Staff were super helpful although there was no one on site until 8 am and we left at 7:30 am. The view was lovely, air conditioning worked great, and the room was small and comfortable. We were cycling so the ground level entry was helpful.

Not at all worth the money. This place is in dire need of exterior maintenance, and perhaps some interior here and there as well. Exterior wood was in horrible shape, as was deck and rail wood. Interior trim paint was sloppy and not even completed. Lobby hours are limited. There are numerous other in town. Won't be back.

Nice quiet stay Parking in front of building is tight, but parking in side lot is roomy

The room could have been cleaner, debris on floor and under beds. The bathroom was not very clean. Shower was not cleaned, hair on walls and in drain, soap scum on walls, soap dispenser was empty. Nowhere to hang clothing such as a suit or dress. Outlets for charging were not convenient.

We didn’t have white bath towels just mismatched gray and pink towels looked like old towels. Tv remote didn’t work was duct taped in the back of it so when we tried it at 8:00 at night we were already in pajamas with a baby and was told I had to come to front desk try a new one. Deck was not swept lots of debris all around the door and dirty glass deck.Front desk man upon arrival wasn’t too friendly.

We stayed at the Tides once before, it wasn’t great but we decided to give them another chance. I’m sorry we did. BTW, what you see in photos about their “updated”rooms is NOT what you get. Honestly, the room was filthy and obviously had not had a deep cleaning for a long time. Dresser had sticky black film on the outside, inside drawers were never wiped down either. The microwave had a glob of I don’t know what in the middle of it and entire inside top of microwave was crusted with old food. They use a FABRIC shower curtain which they do not replace in between room stays. The water scum and dirt comes up about four inches from the bottom..ewww. If it was vinyl they could clean it but it is not. Shower floor not very clean either, this is what we experienced last time. Had to ask them to take it down and replace the shower curtain. Oh, I’d like to add, absolutely not a single piece of art anywhere. As soon as we got into the room I had to call the front desk..(on their mobile phone number because the room phones don’t work!) and we got a very begrudgingly response with the from desk person coming to see for herself, then a very young housecleaner (?) making a poor attempt to clean things up. And BTW, not one apology for this at all, not one offer to comp in any way. Take my advise, stay elsewhere.

The view is what makes this place! You don't get much closer to the water. Our room was not clean however. Unfortunately I had to see how gross it was under the bed when I dropped something on the floor next to the bed and looked under. It was sooooo dirty! Not just dust but garbage too. The floor generally hadn't been swept or mopped (vinyl tile flooring).

The room was redecorated but the floor was filthy and the bedding smelled dirty. It was horrible.

From our bedroom and balcony we had a great view of the peninsula. We saw wildlife and the surrounding mountains Except for the balcony and windows, the room was immaculate. Nice, friendly staff.

Tides Inn is in a lovely spot--literally right on the beach. Our room was large and filled with light, which was great because I wanted a place to work on art projects while my husband was doing something more active. The king bed was comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. There was a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in our room. The view was absolutely incredible. Here's the less positive: There is no housekeeping during your stay unless you request it. Although some websites list the hotel as having a continental breakfast, they do not. Neither one of those things were a big deal for us, but our room was expensive enough that it was kind of weird to not have those. There are some tired-looking aspects of the hotel, e.g. the frame was coming off the side of the mirrored closet. We never heard the people on either side of us. However, there doesn't appear to be any insulation between the floors, and the sound of people walking above us was VERY loud. Every staff person we interacted (or heard interacting with others) was unfriendly and not very professional. The neon "lobby" sign was never turned on and a printed sign was so faded, it was no longer readable, so we had to guess where the lobby was when we arrived. On our last day--Check out is at 11 a.m., but our key cards stopped working at 10 a.m., which made loading the car in multiple trips inconvenient. Housekeeping knocked at 9:30 a.m., then came in immediately, before we had time to get to the door.

The floors had crumbs, hair and unidentified things throughout the room. The tracks to the shower, closet & patio door - filthy as well. Great location though but we won’t be staying there again.

This is a perfect place to stay! Walking distance to downtown (10 minutes, maybe less) and very charming. The rooms were impeccably clean and nicely updated. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Staff was friendly and helpful upon arrival. Room was super clean and view was beautiful! I was hesitant reading some of the previous reviews, but we had an amazing experience (stayed two nights) and will absolutely come back here!

We enjoyed our room. It was RIGHT on the water, with a balcony overlooking the water with sailboats moored. The bathroom is small and dated, but that's such a minor part of the room. The bed was large and comfortable and we had nice pillows, which matters to us! Parking is within feet of the door to the room, which is a bonus. It is easy to walk either north to the town or south to the boatyards.

Very nice recently updated property on the waterfront. I would upgrade to a water view room next stay. Walk to downtown and ferry.

Nice view of the harbor from our deck. Noise from other rooms and nearby street is a negative.

Our room had a great view of the water. Hotel is about 5-minutes drive from downtown Port Townsend. Very conveniently located for shopping and dining. The room we reserved had one king size bed & one full-size bed which's suited for three adults not four--Unless one is a child. This is an old hotel and it shows. Sound insulation was poor--People directly above us walked with heavy steps and we heard every step all morning & night. But the scenery & friendly staff made it worthwhile!

Wonderful room, looks remodeled but not in everything. It’s lacks insulation to better sound proof specifically around the door. A lot of noise from the ice maker directly outside the door and also the door to outside thats just down the ramp. It closes on its own slowly but then slams.

We bought take out breakfast for the next morning to heat up in the microwave. We put it in the fridge last night and when we woke up the morning the fridge had leaked water into all our take out food, ruining it. It also leaked water over the unit floor. The 2nd floor sliding glass door would not lock. It has a great view and check in/out was easy but still mad about all our ruined food.

Great location. Very clean inside. Only complaint is they don’t have a screen door to the balcony, lots of mosquitoes got inside after we opened the door at night.

Room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom well thought out. We didn’t mind the lack of room cleaning or breakfast in the hotel. Only issues were sounds from other people entering/exiting rooms, which was made worse by the gap/lack of weatherstripping under the door, and the uncomfortable interaction we witnessed between staff. (One staff member had made a mistake checking in a party shortly before we arrived, and the other staff person in back was complaining about the mistake. This made those of us checking in feel bad for the errant staff person and generally uncomfortable.)

Great view but couldn't get wifi in room to work. Only got signal outside room

You can’t get any better location in Port Townsend. We were overlooking the water and had an amazing little balcony. The spa in the room was awesome The lady at check-in treated us professionally and was very friendly.

This is an awesome hotel. Right on the wayer, quiet, walkable to the main part of town. Gorgeous property. The room was spacious, clean and condortable. The best part of the stay was Jenni, my front desk associate at check in. She went above and beyond and gelped me have the best stay i could. Ill definitely be back

Check in was non hospital due to non friendly attitude of check in hostess , and had to come back later in day after and she hadn’t improved her attitude

Really enjoyed my stay at the Tides Inn and Suites. Room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Staff was professional and friendly. Loved my room on the water and the hot tub was nice to soak in after a long day. Will be looking to stay again there next year.

Staff were very helpful and flexible when I had to change my travel dates a couple of times.

The check-in experience was terrible and caused a lot of unnecessary stress. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. A small sign said that the lobby was closed but offered a number to call. When I called the number, it had not been set up for voice mail. I called it multiple times. I also called the hotel’s main number, and I could hear the phone ringing in the main lobby with no one answering it. I left several voice mails at that number. At that point I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to access my room so I started looking on my phone for nearby hotels but could not find any with openings. I sent a message through the web form for communicating with the hotel. I sent an email. I called both numbers several more times. Eventually a man came back to the front desk. When I said the number the hotel provided had not been set up for voice mail, he basically responded with a grunt. He was quite rude through the whole check-in. I was able to check in, but he gave me incomplete/unhelpful directions to my room that resulted in me having to search around the property for an unnecessary length of time. I get that this guy was having a bad day, but the experience caused a lot of anxiety.

Front desk staff seemed openly hostile.

My stay at the Tides Inn was absolutely wonderful. The staff was incredible, demonstrating exceptional kindness and attentiveness. I witnessed them go above and beyond to assist the lady in front of me who had a slight situation, showing true dedication to guest satisfaction. For me, the experience was equally impressive. The staff was super kind and accommodating, making me feel truly welcomed. The views from the hotel were spectacular, adding to the overall charm of the place. My room exceeded every expectation, offering both comfort and elegance. I highly, highly recommend the Tides Inn to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. It's a gem of a place that goes the extra mile for its guests.

Host at check in was brusk and as guests arrived was rather barking orders to have ids, credits cards and license plate numbers ready with an obvious and unconvinced overtone. Other folks checking in asked about room service, the host said no, you aren’t here long enough for room service. Went back to ask if they had an extra pillow or two, was an instant “no”. Not busy but appeared irritated to be asked. Room was clean view - some new furnishings and fixtures, view is great - right on the water. The floor is noticeably warped and bathroom is clumsy to negotiate, beyond small. Won’t stay again.

Lovely room with sweeping views of the water including the ferry terminal. Our room was quiet, newly and tastefully updated. The location is excellent.

About a 8 min walk to downtown. Hallways look a little run down need some TLC, the room was a lot nicer. We booked a Premium King Room. The bed was very comfy. They at one point offered breakfast but no longer offer.

I was average stay. There was no continental breakfast which was part of the deal.

Looked and felt cheap - no tissues in bathroom, no robes. Window blinds did not reach window sills - XS light. Had a "ocean view"- heavily obscured by the salt caked on every window. Decent sizr. impersonal. Weekend of a local festival but no "heads up" from the hotel. Only coffee in room no black tee.

The room was updated and clean. It had a large deck overlooking the water with two chairs and a table that was high enough to see the sailboats. Since the rooms are beautiful and updated, the deck needs a remodel. It doesn't compliment the interior of the room or property. The property needs to get their breakfast service back. They had it in the past, and I can say, we enjoyed having a muffin or cereal and coffee in the morning. They also should have coffee set up in the lobby.

The property is in a great location with view of the sea. We had originally booked a suite but had to change dates and therefore ended up in a smaller room with two full beds, which was rather uncomfortable with three people. I am sure our original room (king & full bed) would have been much better. For the price it would be good to include at least a continental breakfast, which is currently not available. Apart from that the hotel is fine and the town lovely.

Selected this property over others as it was supposed to offer complimentary breakfast, but was informed during check in that it is no longer offered and hasn't been for some time. The bed was very comfortable. Expedia site stated breakfast was included. There was no breakfast. I had requested two queen beds and ended up with a king. Old facility that needs updating.

No Continental breakfast as advertised.

I wanna start off by saying that PT is a great little spot for a romantic getaway. All the little chic shops, the old 19th century Victorian buildings, the great little food/coffee options. The Tides was a good stay overall. Just keep in mind, this is an inn in a small port town. No continental breakfast, and you aren’t gonna get the same level of attentiveness and hospitality you would get at a nice modern/chain hotel. They do have cable TV, but the cable box in my room was connected to a HDMI input. Also make sure to select a HD channel when watching TV. The WiFi worked, but not well. So if you’re planning on streaming using a firestick or Roku, it may not work smoothly. With that said, the outside/balconies may be run down, but the room itself was clean and relatively modern. A very good sized mini fridge and a microwave. The inn is equidistant between the old downtown area and the newer town center area, both in walking distance. My only complaint about the room itself (besides the WiFi) is that the bathroom is insanely small, and the water pressure in my room was not very good. But overall, this was a great stay for the price. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway in a cute little town, or even a home base if you’re willing to drive a bit to see some of the parks on the western side of the peninsula, I would recommend staying at The Tides
