The hotel is average but we were disappointed that the pool was closed. We were told that it's been closed for 6 months as of 8/25. This shows they are in no hurry to fix it. ALSO , EXPEDIA is quoting the incorrect rate. I was informed, at the front desk, that this has been a problem with EXPEDIA because they aren't adding a surcharge that the hotel charges. The only recourse that EXPEDIA offered me was a credit towards a future booking.

Didn’t have parking available. Had to walk 4 blocks to self park and walk with my luggage on the streets! I have been going to Riverwalk for the past 5 years and have never has to selfpark. First and last time booking at this hotel.

Overall, a poor experience. One of the staff members was incredibly rude. The elevator broke one morning during our stay. I called the desk to inform her that we were stuck on the 16th floor because my mother cannot go down 16 flights of stairs. The woman at the desk said “well there is nothing I can do about that” and hung up on me! We had to wait 25 minutes for the elevator to be fixed, causing us to miss our brunch reservation and accrue an Uber cancellation charge. Additionally, the garage parking was very inconvenient since there is only one elevator allowing access to the garage, causing incredibly long lines. The only perk to this property is the close proximity to downtown and the riverwalk. The staff certainly need a lesson on empathy and customer experience!

The front desk staff are wonderful. The hotel isn’t cleaned well. They do not even vacuum the floor hallways. The cleaning crew doesn’t clean well. They don’t vacuum , sweep the floor, nor clean the toilets well. The parking elevator wasn’t working the whole week we were there and you have to take the stairs five of four floors with 107 degree temperature or wait endlessly for the Golf card to take you to your car.

For the price, you can’t go wrong. It is in a convenient location - close to the Riverwalk and other historical locations. You are able to see the Alamo from here. Parking is another story. It is “first come first serve” but you still have to pay the $30 extra. I arrived back to the hotel at 10:00pm on a Saturday, with no parking spots left. I was told that there was a parking garage several blocks down but I wasn’t comfortable going alone at night. Also, the room cleanliness was in question. There was beard hair on the sink and the floors did not appear to be swept.

The room was not clean properly the bathroom room was terrible. I and my sister cleaned it ourselves. We did not complain about it. The rate for parking was not expected when we actually had to park our own car.

Location was great. Our room had a balcony and the Christmas lights on the river walk looked amazing. The room was okay, but the floors were dirty. I ended up putting on brand new white socks and I kid you not they turned black. The pillows were flat and made it a bit uncomfortable. The king size bed was soft. We also heard lots of slamming doors throughout the night. But overall is was okay.

The day we checked in, I noticed that there was a pink ring around the drain in the shower and there was hair all over the floor from previous guests. During our stay, we were walking around in our socks, and our socks would get dirty very quickly due to filth on the floor. Very doubtful that the floors are getting mopped after stays. Every time we would go to leave, the exit to the parking garage would be blocked by cars waiting to get valet or guests checking in. It was inconvenient and it seemed like there wasn’t a flow to ensure that guests staying there could exit smoothly and quickly. Great location of the city, but facility needs to be updated.

Our recent stay was unfortunately disappointing. It appeared that necessary maintenance was not being performed, resulting in an outdated and unclean environment. The room was odoriferous, and the restroom was equally unpleasant and smelly. Additionally, black mold was present on the ceiling. Although I requested a change to a different room, the same issues persisted.

I stayed here for one night. The first room I was put into had little roaches in the bathroom, but before I could even complain, someone had text to ask how my room was. I explained the situation and they instantly moved me to a different room on a different floor. The second room was completely fine (and believe me, I looked). Customer service was excellent, but the overall hotel cleanliness needs work. Hallways definitely need to be vacuumed and bathrooms are for sure not cleaned very often. I will more than likely never stay here again

I really wanted to love this hotel. But when we got in that the evening the AC was not working so we left to venture out with hopes that it’ll get cooler when we return. By the time we returned at 11 PM it only got cooler by 1° so my husband had to go downstairs and find another room, that room also never got any cooler.

The room 901 was to warm, the setting was at 66 & the room temperature was 78, it was very hot outside, I tried setting it lower & I also called to the front to complain about the room being to hot & I got a fan brought to the room, I told them to set the AC lower. I knew it was being controlled.

There is an old abandoned building when you looked out the window. Such an eyesore! Floor in front of front door always had condensation and we could have slipped. Shower door didn't stay open. Refrigerator froze our food.

My family and I booked a high-floor room, which turned out to be on the top floor—23rd. The moment we stepped off the elevator, we were hit with unbearable heat. We went to our room, hoping it would be better, but it was just as bad. I called the front desk, and they said they’d send maintenance. After maintenance checked it out, we were told to “wait an hour” to see if it improved. An hour? After driving four hours to get here, the last thing we wanted was to sit in a sweltering room. The manager dismissed it, blaming the issue on being on a high floor and said, "Well it is a high floor." Implying... that’s just how it is. If you can’t cool the rooms, don’t rent them. TORTA! Thirty minutes later, I’d had enough. This was supposed to be a vacation for my family—not a miserable, overheated nightmare. When I spoke to the manager again, she repeatedly talked over me and wouldn’t let me finish a sentence. Only after pressing the issue did she reluctantly and silently hand me a key to a different room. The 7th-floor room was fine, but by then, the damage was done. Between the unbearable heat, the lack of accountability, and the dismissive attitude from management, this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We will never stay here again, and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

This is my second time staying at this property and honestly I was very disappointed. When we checked in our room the AC was at 73 degrees once we turned it down to 69 and four hours passed it never dropped. After I called to check what the problem was they said their AC went down and all they could offer was a box fan and some water. Afte spending the night with the room temperature at 76 degrees with a 9 year unable to sleep i went to the front desk the next morning and they said itll take a couple more hours for the room to get back to cooling since the AC was barely fixed. They only offered not to charge us for parking to accommodate us. This stay was not pleasant at all, although it was not the staff's fault they could have offered us free breakfast or a discount and they wouldn't even offer that and the only reason they gave a discount on the parking was because i complained once again and ask for an accommodation.

The only positive about this place was a pretty good location. However, its on an inactive section of the Riverwalk. Close walk to the active area. Worst part was the lack of helpful front desk personnel. 1. Dont answer the phone....fire alarm went off at 9am and no instructions. So we called, no answer. So we evacuated (pajamas). "Oh, our room speaker must not have worked, they announced a fire alarm test." No apology, no nothing. 2. tried to call the bar/grill to order dinner. (Restaurant was closed for renovations the entire stay, ugh. My husband had a small health issue and couldn't go out for dinner 1 night. ) No one would answer bar/grill phone. so I again called front desk to ask if the grill was open ( 8pm). They told me I had to go there to order. They were too busy to answer phone. So I walked to grill and no one would take my order. Bar patrons gave me a drink while I waited ! lol. They said the workers were just bad. So, I finally went to vending machine and got goldfish crackers for our dinner. 3.Needed to take my husband to ER. No help from front desk about good/bad local hospitals. No calling a cab. The bellman did help us find a cab company to call. 4. For anyone wanting a nice pool area, look elsewhere. Sterile, dirty and not a piece of greenery in sight. No one was ever there throughout our long weekend stay. We did enjoy the RiverWalk area (b4 the health issue), but without any help from the hotel we selected. Shame on you HI.

This was one of the easiest check ins i have ever had. The front clerk Jay was EXCELLENT! His attitude, personality and professionalism was above and beyond! He did things fast and easy amd also gave us a room upgrade(river view) after the issues i had with a previous hotel reservation at a different location. He was great! After that, Ehren and Jesse from valet parking were also very helpful providing dining, route, sight seeing suggestions. You do have to pay for parking, but it was a one time fee($36) that covered our stay for the weekend. Most other hotels have a nightly fee. This hotel is within walking distance of all restaurants shops and night life. Room was a little small but couldnt complain since it was a river view. I was looking fwd to the pool but turns out this hotel DOES NOT have a pool. Something about renovations with an indefinite opening date. The only complimentary thing they offer is the coffee inside your room. Everything else you must pay for. Overall great experience and will probably stay again.

Front desk was not cooperative with any accommodations you needed and gave an excuse for them being busy and sold out. I had to wait 50 mins for room service to bring a toothpaste. When I called front desk again to check up on how long it’ll take, I was told that they can’t give me a time frame cause they are busy.

Check in is at 4:00, which was pushing it for our plans but they did not seem to enforce that policy for us at 3:30. The facility was clean and remodelled. The staff was super friendly and the Restaurant area (bar and dining) was quite good - tip: Happy Hour 4-7 is a great value, and breakfast offers breakfast buffet or ala carte. Our room faced the Riverwalk and was pretty quiet but not totally. Overall, we would definitely stay there again if visiting center city and Riverwalk! But we have to give a final shout out to Juan the valet who went above and beyond to get our car started in Self Park. We found a completely dead battery and were getting ready to call AAA when he went and got his car and jump started us for the ride home. He certainly did not have to do that and he saved us at least an hour off our return trip. Many, many thanks !!

No carts for luggage. I had to make 2 trips from level 4 garage to 21st floor to get our luggage. They charged my card for my room that had already been paid for by my son. That maxed out my card and left with me with very little cash to travel back to West Texas with. I had planned to stay and shop and go to lunch but it ruined my plan and stressed me out that they maxed my card by the room charge and i still had to get home with no funds on my card. And again no carts when checking out. I advised them that i was traveling alone with my disabled daughter and I could not make two trips again to take my luggage back to my car and I felt dismissed, like, oh well..customer service is definitely lacking at that facility. They are supposed to be in the hospitality business. Still waiting for a refund, at this point I feel like my son should get some reimbursement as well, as this caused stress on him as well.

It’s just across the road from The Majestic. We have stayed here several times and have had no issues walking to The Alamo or anywhere in that general area. There is a Starbucks across the street. There is a bakery within a block, there may be a line there but worth the wait. There is a Walgreens across from the bakery, as well. The hotel is wonderful. The restaurant has really good food. We have eaten at several places on the river but HONESTLY, the food never disappoints at the hotel. We have had bad meals at some of the river restaurants though. All in all, very nice place to stay. We’ll be back.

The Holiday Inn is a 3 star hotel, which is perfectly adequate for a stay along the RiverWalk. From our hotel window we could look down on the boats traversing the River Walk, just lovely. I had never been to San Antonio so the choice of this welcoming and perfectly located hotel worked out very well for us.

What I liked was the location, it on the river walk, The views are beautiful. The room was clean. What I didn't like was breakfast. The food was cold and the toaster couldn't warm the bread. They staff verified three times that our breakfast was included with the reservation. The dinning area was well kept and looked over the river walk.

A bit too over priced for the condition of the place Homeless hanging out at the river walk area, we saw what we were pretty sure it was human feces The elevator a cardboard flooring over it for reasons unknown The hotel bar closed early and did not tell anyone so my friend and I sat there for 15 minutes before she went downstairs and found out that they have closed the bar early They locked the doors from the Riverwalk to the patio before 10 PM so you have to go down into the very lower level to go out called the tunnel, was very musty smelled like mold The patio outside is not what you see in the pictures either there’s just a couple of brass tables out there not really a place you wanna just sit and hang out And I’m not sure if there is mildew or mold or something in the rooms but after we left my friend and I were feeling like we had a very bad allergic reaction or just sick as soon as we spent a couple of hours away from the property, we started feeling better

Our stay was awesome except for one thing. The bar area is so nice and has so much potential but they dont really sell it. We ordered michelob ultra draft and it literally tasted like popcorn with butter in a glass. Everyone was waiting on the christmas parade and I understand they were busy, but they had no music playing just going around asking for $40 dollars to reserve an outside table. We were already paying to stay there. I just really think they could have handled it better. Just giving constructive criticism.

The property was located on the riverwalk and had great access to shops, restaurants and bars. The property itself was not of what I would expect from Holiday Inn. The maid service was not great, no coffee for the 2nd day and no clean washcloths. I asked at the desk for the coffee to be provided and they did, whoever I did not specify coffee cups, so those were not provided. The pictures advertised made the hotel to look nice and updated, that was not the case, and the pool was not pictured adequately at all! It was like a hole in the concrete barriers. The bed however was exceptionally comfortable. Would not stay at this property again.
