Great stay! No complaints whatsoever! Clean, updated room, comfortable bed, decent complimentary breakfast options, and best of all, indoor swimming pool! As grandparents on a mountain adventure with our grandkids, it came in very handy to pass time between excursions!

Was very bad experience. Hotel was under renovation, but we were not told that. From 8 AM till 8 PM we heard noise and drill sound. Room was not totally clean and some lamps were not work. when we asked to change for another room , we were told it’s not available . Also hot tub and swimming pool was not working because of renovation and I booked the hotel partially because of that as well. Terrible experience. Not recommended

The hotel is under construction. It is a construction site with pool closed and third floor closed and often painfully noisy. I also heard scary yelling at night from across the street. Otherwise it was ok. I would wait until construction finished.

Staff was nice, new construction but walls were paper thin, you could hear every door open and close, people on their phone, etc. Great hot tub and pool. Breakfast was ok.

Nice clean hotel. Unfortunately, we booked and paid more than surrounding hotels for the purpose of using the pool and hot tub. Both were closed due to "chemical issues." I honestly don't think they should charge full price if their main amenity is closed. If we had been informed ahead of time we would have canceled and stayed somewhere else.

The hotel is under construction and I specifically stay there for the hot tub and pool and it was closed. There was no mention on Expedia or by the property before I booked that this was going on. They also put me in a room right next to the elevator and it was noise all night long and I got no sleep.

The pool area was extremely dirty with actual dirt and bugs along the perimeter of the pool room. The pool and water itself was clean though. On their website, it stated their pool was closed for renovations, but there was nothing indicating this at the actual hotel. I found multiple hairs in the bathroom of the room, but these may have come from the fabric shower curtain as I did not notice them before moving the shower curtain. Overall would not stay here again.

This HIE unit is clean, comfortable, and centrally located. It's a bit further from Western Carolina University than the Comfort Inn but will be our go to from here on out. Everything, including level of service, way exceeded the other options. Definitely recommend.

Good breakfast, friendly staff and comfortable bed. Guest should be verbally told about, cleaning only if requested the night before. Bringing towels and removing trash should be done automatically and shouldn't require a request. I'm a guest, not an employee. I assumed these types of things would occur as a normal function given the price and being a hotel. Also, saw lots of stink bugs in 3rd floor hallway and stairwell.

Our room smelled bad. The hotel was empty and they gave us room number 209, view of all the ac units outside of our window when the hotel was mostly empty for a Thursday night on May 29, 2025. Loved the roof at the check in floor as it was raining. Would love to have cut up fresh fruit and bacon on the breakfast buffet.

Checking in was easy, the lobby and room was clean. Went to bed with the A/C set low and in the middle of the night, it shut off. The room was crazy hot. For the rest of the night, the A/C would turn off and on. Made the stay horrible.

I booked and paid for 1 night in advance through Hotels.com. A lady named Sky at Holiday Inn charged me for the night upon check out. I have called five times to Holiday Inn and spoke to Sky three times and Brandy, the general manager. I do not see the advantage of using Hotels.com if I am being charged at rhe hotel as well. Always get your receipts upon check out to verify charges at that point in time. I did not.

The one and ONLY complaint i had was i couldnt connect to the front desk. We had a need and couldn't contact them. The phones just would get a bussy signal. Othe than that, FANTASTIC place to stay.

This Holiday Inn was fine, it was interesting as it was under renovation as we were there but didn't bother us. Everything was as expected, if a bit pricey for one night and it being basically a junkyard around the property due to the hotel's neighbors. But I understand the hotel can't help that.

great customer service. newly remodled beautiful rooms and the rooms are so spacious. Very cozy area. The renovation weren't a problem at all. alot of local food spots near by and only 20 mins from the casinos.

Nice staff, clean room. You have to drive 10 minutes to go anywhere for food unless you want to eat at the gas station next door. The hotel does have a very full snacks/drinks store in the lobby. It's about 10 minutes to Sylva and 15 to Western Carolina. I personally just don't like being isolated but it's a nice hotel if you need a break as we did on our trip.

My main issue was there was someone literally running in the room above us at 2am for over an hour. We couldn’t sleep due to the amount of noise. We tried dialing 0 on the room phone to complain to the front desk and it routed our call to a call center?? I will say the room we stayed in was freshly remodeled and very clean. While I didn’t experience too many issues, a lot of other people did during breakfast. The pancake machine was down which upset a lot of people. The beverages ran out well before the end of breakfast. I actually saw one guy get so upset he recorded all the issues he experienced during breakfast. So while their kitchen is being remodeled, this is something I’d caution other guests about. No shortage of eggs and sausage. But milk ran out, juice ran out, water ran out, LONG line at the toaster, and no pancake machine.

Great Stay in the Mountains! We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Sylva, NC. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The location is perfect—peaceful but still close to restaurants, Western Carolina University, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and check-in was smooth and easy. Our room was spacious and quiet, with all the essentials we needed for a relaxing stay. Breakfast was good, with a decent selection—but we were a little disappointed not to see the famous cinnamon buns or pancakes! That said, there were still plenty of options to start the day off right. Overall, a great choice for a visit to the Sylva area. We’d absolutely stay here again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Room was very nice and comfortable recently remodeled and done very well not just slap some new paint and carpet. Everything in the room looked new. Breakfast was good though seating was limited due to construction and remodeling of the Breakfast area. The construction was the only reason I removed a star. You should know what your walking into when you book a room, even if it is to make the place better.

The only thing that was bad about my stay was the morning of check out when I went to get breakfast there was a bus full of Hispanics eating all the food and drinking all the coffee. I was there at 6a.m. When it opened and breakfast items were scarce.

The breakfast is always great! We always plan to leave and go through a drive thru but we always end up staying because it’s so good! The cinnamon rolls are so good, my husband and son love them! And there was also a muffin I could eat since I have a dairy and soy allergy! The fresh fruit is always great too! Thank you!
