I have stayed at this property many times over the years and this is the first time I’ve had a lackluster experience. I understand the place is under renovation but you’re still renting at a premium price . First, having the parking lot full of work trucks and bucket trucks makes parking a challenge. Next we got to the room and it appears to be redone recently, but was not clean. The toilet was not clean and had remnants of blood on the seat. Also, there was dirt and grime around all the electrical outlets and switches in the restroom and the shower base had a black grime on the floor. Next we noticed the couch in the room had mystery stains on it that would not brush off. I hate to be that guy, but for the price we paid the experience should be at another level. The breakfasts were good!

It was a nice place to stay, 4 stars. The morning breakfast always good with a variety of items available. The only issue with the room was the bathroom door would not stay open, which was frustrating with kids. Is the pool going to open this season? Looks like it has been closed for a couple of years? Maybe should not advertise it.

The Wi-Fi in the room we were in was annoyingly frustrating and barely worked, kicking me off every five minutes or sooner. And the pool was small and cold. But the staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was surprisingly delicious, especially the biscuits and gravy. I was like, WHAT!? The distance to downtown North East was great and parking was easy (both at the hotel and on Main Street). Overall good experience for the price.

It wasn't in a scenic area. BUT we liked everything else! The room furnishings were clean and well maintained. The sheets were soft and so were the pillows. Julia, who made the breakfast, kept everything stocked and hot. Eggs with cheese, pancakes, pork or turkey sausage, delish coffee, plus more! And the outside pool was fun too.

Travelling with my husband and 6 years old son who loves swimming, unfortunately, the pool is closed so it is a big disappointment for them as we pick this hotel for that reason. Breakfast is somewhat good though we have to wait a little because there is no hot food left when we first arrive at 8am.

I have stayed at this property many times over the years and this is the first time I’ve had a lackluster experience. clean room and bed, bathroom was clean, towels had some hairs on them… staff was friendly except the worker who was refilling the breakfast station was very angry that people were eating and mumbling rude words about having to refill it.. food was good, other hotel staff were friendly, would stay here again but would probably take breakfast to my room as the food worker put a damper on the mood for the day with her bad attitude. outside property is unappealing but inside was clean and well designed.

There was a big spider/bug problem in our room. They moved us to a new room. However, we should have been compensated. The girls at the front desk were nice but not one manager called me to make it right. My children were so grossed out they had trouble sleeping. I would have relocated to another hotel but everything was booked. We over paid for this hotel. Pictures were not what realistic.

This Holiday Inn express in Northeast Maryland caters to providing nightly motel stays for Amtrak train employees. I went to bed early and was woken up twice with loud stomping feet in the unit above us. I don’t like being woken up at 5 AM when they went to work with the sound of heavy shoes stomping. We stayed on the third floor, and the noise was coming from the fourth floor above us..🙁

The staff was friendly and accommodating to issues. The room was clean and breakfast had a wide selection of items. The noise level was high, even with ear plugs outside noise throughout the night as well as noise from other guests was above what I would have expected. For that reason alone I would not be able to recommend this location.

The air conditioning was broken seemingly on the entire 4th floor on a day that felt like 103° outside. We got moved to a second room after our first one was 80°(legitimately), however the second room was only slightly improved and still was not up to par for what a hotel should be. We checked out of the hotel after being there for less than 3 hours. When we went to the girl at the front desk to check out, she did not try to offer a resolution to our problem, nor did she offer us another room with working AC. This was very disappointing, as we were there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

The area is safe and well lit. The lady at the front desk, I think her name is savanna, went out of her way to prepare a room. She open the sofa bed turn the lights on and adjusted the temperature. She was wonderful to two elderly ladies. The rooms were clean and we had a quiet night.

The staff was exceptional. Everyone from the lady that made the eggs in the morning to the maintenance man to the front desk. They were all amazing. However, the hotel needs some revamping. I had almost every time I re-entered the room I had to go down to the front desk and have them re-key my card because the key holder did not connect with my keys, I had an issue with my bathroom ceiling, it was flooding into my bathroom from upstairs. They did move me to a new room however, in the move, I lost a necklace, a crucifix, probably in the towels from mopping up the floor and all I got was an apology. The hotel is terribly outdated however it is very clean and the location worked for me perfectly thank you

Stayed a second time at this property. Welcoming staff. A solid hotel. Bed is comfortable and supportive. Room is pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast is a nice perk.
