Hampton Inn & Suites Frederick-Fort Detrick

There was no water from 10am till after 4pm on 12/26. The hotel should have made there guests aware before so they could have made other plans.

The property is clean and convenient. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were responsive. While the inside of the hotel and the property was good there were several rats in the parking lot near the dumpster. This will need to be addressed.

Website says they have a hot tub, but they do not. Other than that, the stay was good.

hotel overall is wonderful. great staff, very clean and attractive decor. only two issues: the hot tub was filled in and no longer exists despite photos of the hot tub being displayed online. the beds are also very firm and not so comfortable. but other than that great experience

The room was nice and clean. Front deck stage was nice as well. Almost every time my eight year old daughter and I went in the door a maintenance staff was smoking right at the door. My daughter had to hold her nose. Likewise the Walgreens next door felt unsafe. We were inside and 4 kids were stealing in the isle. It was quite a seen. Don’t recommend walking outside the property grounds.

Entrance doors not functioning. Coffee in lobby was old and cold. Staff does not care. Lady manning the breakfast area was top tier — hard-working and helpful.

Was given the wrong room initially, the accessible room we retained was not available and we were moved to a room the correct size but lacking the accessible shower we believe we reserved. The breakfast was broken down early on day 1 so we were not able to eat even though we were in the dining area 15 minutes before breakfast ending. The hotel has let their alcohol license lap so we were unable to get drinks from the lobby as advertised was available. The room was decently cleaned when we arrived and the staff was polite. The internet did not work at all on night 3 and I was unable to complete my work as needed so I turned in a scheduled contract about 14 hours late. May return but will definitely be considering other option first. Not our first time there but definitely our worst experience. Feel like I overpaid for subpar experience.

The room/ amenities were great. The pool is small but we always had the place to ourselves and the kids had a blast. Towels in the area. The gym, also smaller but has a treadmill, elliptical, and Peloton with weights. Breakfast varied in how stocked it was each day but had a fair variety! Always eggs of some sort, and usually potato’s and breakfast meat, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, and bread goods. No complaints at all and enough variety to keep our family happy for a week. Rooms were not serviced very often (one time after requested during our 6 night stay) which is fine we just needed the tiny trashes emptied and towels changed which we were able to do as needed through the front desk. We will definitely continue to stay here when in town. It’s also convenient to downtown Frederick (10 ish minute drive).

The pool was closed due to maintenance the whole weekend. When I booked it didn’t say anything maybe they should update the website.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The breakfast offered a wide variety of foods. The gentleman who was in charge of the breakfast area kept everything stocked and neat. He really showed dedication to his job.

Staff was nice. The room was not as clean as I’d like. There was a used towel and washcloth in the bathroom and hair in the tub drain. Although I registered three people for the room, wet only had two clean bath towels.

I originally picked this hotel because of questionable reviews of surrounding hotels and this was the only one not showing low stars. I am picky about hotels and this one by far was one of the best I have stayed at. It was very clean throughout the entire hotel and rooms. The staff was friendly and we had zero issues the entire weekend. The breakfast each day looked and tasted fresh and the food prep area and machines were clean. I absolutely would recommend this hotel if you are in the Frederick MD area and need a clean safe place to stay.

It needed a deep cleaning

I stayed here last year, but this time the room was not as clean as before. It was disappointing.

Dirty, poorly maintained, and understaffed is the best way to explain the first and lasting impressions of this hotel. Upon arrival there were multiple guests waiting in an unattended lounge/check-in area, as the front desk attendant had to leave the desk to retrieve water to replenish at the refreshment area. The wait was about 10-15 minutes. Being understaffed is another reason there was a 45 minute telephone hold when attempting to call the evening prior to confirm a reservation. The first room made available had to be changed due to the HVAC system not operational. The second room ended up being a room that was previously smoked in, after specifically requesting a non-smoking and pet-free room due to severe allergies and asthma. While trying to take into consideration this hotel was slightly older in appearance, the carpeting, and some furnishing (pictures attached) presented as beyond soiled. This underminded the maid staff's efforts to "clean" the room in preparation for a stay. In addition, this may sound minimal, but the toilet seat was incredibly the incorrect size, leaving it to fall to one side of the bowl, and the rim of the toilet being completely exposed and touching when sitting. The shower was also older with broken shelving and not supported well. I was surprised to see this condition after seeing a high rating, which I booked my stay based upon. Please avoid, and find another decent room for a decent price.

The room smelled musty, stains on the carpet, awkward layout for mini fridge and microwave. Bed was hard. Only 4 standard pillows for a king bed. No bathtub, just a shower.

Shower issue and toilet ran all night

Air conditioning would cycle but never really cooled the room even though the temperature was set to low. Pillows were way too soft. All pillows were the same. Not everyone likes them soft.

Super quiet room and a nice bed.

We tried to check-in around 2:00 PM, however one of out two rooms were not ready. Also, we had reserved adjoining rooms but the two rooms were close together, but not adjoining (we had our two teenage granddaughters with us). The front desk found two adjourning rooms and we came back at 5:00 PM to finish checking-in. All went well from then on during iur stay.

The room was awesome! Check out was a nightmare! If corporate sees this please rech out to me.

We were not given the accessible room we reserved. I was told I needed to address it in the app, I have tried several time and no one responded. We checked out early as our room was not accessible like we needed and reserved. The heated pool was also not available as advertised.

TV not working in our first room. Front desk immediately moved us to another room. Good response.

We enjoyed our room, and the breakfasts were nice. What could use some thoughts for improvement center around staffing and customer service. All staff members seemed to lack knowledge about what was acceptable and what wasn't (one thought a cot could be provided, while others thought not) additionally, they did not seem to understand how to upgrade a booking or modify requests. At one point a employee went in a back room to speak with a manager, but I am pretty certain they just went back there and stood around for a few minutes only to come back and say "sorry the manager says we can't do that," but no sign of a manager on site for our whole five day stay. It might behoove Hampton Inn and Suites to provide more front desk training, and manager visibility/accessibility. Thanks!

Perfect location, very clean and very quiet. Pretty close to dining options would stay there again.

Checkin staff was very accommodating. Room was comfortable. Property showing its age in the room bathroom. Breakfast was ok. Coffee was good. Location is near stores and several restaurants.

Easy to get to downtown.

I loved staying here because it is north of town, so easy to get on and off 15. We stayed on Buckeystown Pike last time and there was so much traffic.

The location was great. Traveling through 15S made this a convenient stop over on my way to Florida.

This hotel is conveniently located and well-kept. The rooms are nice and the common areas are comfortable. Bit expensive... but all in all, I would recommend.

The only issue I had was with the kitchen staff on 5/27, 5/28 & 5/29. Same 2 employees, rude, lazy, did not refill breakfast items as things ran out, did not clean tables in between guests sitting there and coffee tasted like water.

The hotel was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The rooms were on the smaller side. The breakfast didn’t offer much. We called down for extra blankets that were never received. No baby crib or pack and play were available either. Location is convenient.

The room needed better lighting and the breakfast was terrible. I would shop around for another hotel if had to stay in Frederick, Md again at this price!! Would not recommend this hotel.

It was snowing during the overnight we stayed there and not one single time did the staff mop or clean the floors of the lobby or the dining area. There was dried-up mud from the main door to the dining area and all the way to the elevators. Breakfast was poor. The only protein served were scrambled and hard boiled eggs. To get coffee, you had to walk to the reception. The room was probably the only redeeming factor of this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean amd the breakfast was good. The guys setting up breakfast really seem to take pride in good food and keeping it clean. The coffee was on point also
