Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile

No complaints at all. Hotel was very clean and staff were great. Lobby bar was always packed and vibrant. Location was excellent. Tons of higher end shopping and great dining choices, all with in walking distance. Quick uber ride to Wrigley Field too. Would love to come back again soon!

Only negative was valet parking was $75 and the self parking lot that was recommended was also $75.

This property was very nice and there were eating options and a great bar/lounge.

The staff was great, the elevators were fast to get us to hire floors. Lots of different dining options, although you're paying Chicago prices for food and drinks. Our room though was freezing. Someone installed the heater vent that blew right on the thermostat which never let the room fully heat up. Otherwise it was a great place

This Marriott property is located in a very convenient location on the famous Magnificent Mile. There are countless shops and restaurants within minutes of the hotel. The surrounding area is walkable, and a metro stop is just a 5-minute away. The hotel is quite luxurious, and the rooms are nicely appointed with many amenities. The on-site restaurant has great food and good service.

I enjoyed my stay here. The location was perfect for walking around. We were able to walk to every attraction on our list . The only thing missing is a pool!

The location is amazing, the property itself is not amazing but clean and staff is nice. No complimentary internet is the biggest flaw in my opinion.

No WIFI here unless you have a Bonvoy account - I booked this for my daughter and husband to enjoy - staff did not explain how to access WIFI while THEY did not have an account. Renovations at this hotel took OUT the hotel pool. At the price of this hotel it should provide more amenities and service. Far too expensive for the convenience of being in the location. I will not book here ever again.

The room was clean and staff friendly.

The front desk staff demonstrated attentiveness throughout our stay, and the lobby café team operated with notable efficiency. Our room was clean, well-maintained, and offered a stunning view from the 45th floor.

There was a spider in the room that we had to kill in the first night . I thought nothing of it but the next night killed another spider and centipede in the living area and bathroom. Reported the issue to the front desk and our option was to change rooms or have housekeeping to come up … we chose to move rooms. There was no issues in the new room. My concern is how are you charging 25.00 a day when the living area is not up to par ! For a hotel like this any type of bug should never be seen !!!!! There was no apology just options and I thought that was unacceptable! I would not recommend !

Well below the Marriott quality. Room was not properly cleaned- dusty lamps, sticky tiles, complimentary items missing. Request for towels was met with clean towels provided but dirty ones (on the floor) not removed. Lobby was exceptionally loud and crowded. Taxes charged were higher than Expedia quote. Not sure how Expedia rewards were applied since ‘benefits’ seemed to be as a result of having paid a daily destination fee.

The pics on the website are deceiving. Pair was chipping, cracks in the drywall, stains on the bed sheets. The temperature of the rooms would not go below 72 degrees.

The hotel was very clean the staff was excellent and the location was perfect.

Dirty not cleaned room

The room we stayed in wasn’t as clean as I like. But I always bring cleaning supplies with me no matter what hotel we stay at. The shower leaked the entire time of our stay there was mold in the shower and you could see where the last person stood at in the shower. The sink also had mold around the edge of the sink. There were some bottle caps under the sink. In which I couldn’t reach so I left them there. The end tables had hair and dust still on them as well as the alarm clock. The handles for the doors had something on them when I wiped them down with a Clorox wipe the wipe was no longer white. With the exception of the staff the stay sucked and for almost 400.00 dollars a night we should have had a microwave.

Room and bathroom very outdated and small. Pillows are terrible. Carpet in room was very dirty. Staff was great!

Great location to shopping and the Navy Pier. Unfortunately the building is older and individual rooms can’t control heating and cooling on their own. On hotter days and colder nights this leads to very warm sleeping conditions.

Excellent service with stunning city view from room.

This property is ginormous which means the amenities are difficult to duplicate. Example - minimal charging ports in room. No microwave yet a mini fridge is available. I was amazed how loud every movement was throughout the property.

The rooms were overheated and impossible to cool,off. Excuse being that it’s an old building!

The rooms are super small. We got a room by the elevators and it was loud as we could hear the elevators sll night long.

Very over priced for a basic hotel room! The air conditioning didn’t seem like it worked.

The first night was a nightmare! They gave us a room behind the elevators and the noise was incredible loud that we couldn’t rest or sleep. They didn’t change our room until the next day. The only thing they offer us was earplugs. That they know that the sound is awful but they couldn’t do anything about it. The property needs maintenance, cracks in the walls, water damage in the bathroom doors etc. the location is a plus because is in the middle of everything. But for the amount we paid and the room we had was not worthy. Also we had an issue with the concierge level that we add on. They didn’t want to give us that because we did it through Expedia. The staff wasn’t very helpful. Thanks God I was able to show them the email with the included amenities that we paid for, but took me a while for them to figure it out.

Great hotel! Location was perfect. Room and beds are a little small but location, staff, and View made up for it. Must note that my wife and I had our two teenagers with us, room would be perfect for a couple, just a little tight for 4 people.

A great day. The service a check-in was friendly and quick. The room was comfortable and well designed and quite clean. All the staff in the hotel were extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The overall experience was good. Everyone greeted us friendly service. My only concerns was when we went to valet park, it took a long time (over 15 mins) to find someone to take the car, and while dining in the Harvest restaurant within the hotel they had a soiled cloth napkin on the table for use. That was a little disgusting to see. With that being said, if u understand that sometimes stuff happens (which we did), you should enjoy your stay!

Billing was an absolute mess! Several thousands in hold charges showed pending on our credit card for days against a 3-night stay. Hundreds of dollars billed despite prepaid. $25 Resort Fee with a $25 credit at the Cafe required excessive management of food purchases each day so as to not forfeit the fee. Rate included "free parking" but there was no explanation on how to accomplish resulting in 2 of 3 nights charged for valet parking with zero attempt to resolve the issue from Marriott.

Staff was very willing to assist and responsive.

Hotel was in good area of downtown but there weren’t many restaurants of interest nearby. With the exception of waiter Josh in Revive, all employees were extremely rude and not helpful to include desk clerk upon check-in, desk clerk for questions, concierge, Pantry clerk. One afternoon a person from the Pantry as yelling at the cashier that she was “going to HR about her.” Revive food was cold and horrible; one night food was burned. Several times the staff just shrugged because they didn’t know the answer, not trying to steer us in the right direction. The hidden costs were astronomical, and hotel itself had no amenities for “non-Marriott club” members. There was no rooftop access, no free internet no pool and no gift shop. Very disappointed in Marriott.

Check-in was okay like any other hotel. They failed to mention the single king I requested/reserved however were not available and just checked me in. I didn't realize this until I walked into my room and saw two tiny beds that were even lower to the ground than a normal bed. I called down to the desk and was informed that the room I had requested/reserved was not guaranteed and they gave me what they had (even though I paid for a king-size bed when I made my reservation). The rep on the phone stated it was not guaranteed and there were no other rooms or kings available. I asked for even a queen and stated these beds looked like they were barely twins, and she stated they were full-size beds and what I was in was all they had and to enjoy my stay. She was literally blunt and to the point about it and hung up the phone. Didn't offer to change my rate from reserving and paying for a king to having to sleep in a full-size bed that was literally a platform bed with a subpar mattress that was something you would find on a futon. The room was clean, but there was a lot of noise in the hallways until just past midnight and there was no point in calling about it after my first encounter with guest services that apparently didn't care what my stay was going to be like. There was also a lot of noise coming up off Michigan Ave which I realize the hotel has no control over. Needless to say, I did not sleep well on the bed and was ever so glad to leave in the morning.

Stay began with the best check-in experience in all my travels. Friendly but efficient. Great delivery of available services, including entering my Bonvoy number providing access to upgraded wifi. Lobby, elevators, hallways, and room very clean. Bed very comfortable. Good neighborhood just north of the river here in Chicago.

Then we gave it another try for breakfast another day, and our service staff was wonderful, but we think they forgot about us after they took our order because the food came out 40 minutes after we placed our order. The table next to us had 4 people and they placed their order about 30 minutes after us, then got their food about 2 minutes before us. The food on the other hand was delicious! I think maybe they were just understaffed. Overall, amazing customer service and a beautiful hotel. Thank you!

Between having our room ready early, and having luggage storage for the time between checkout and our flight, we couldn’t have hope for a better stay! All the staff were simply amazing and more than willing to accommodate any request we made. Will definitely be back on future trips to Chicago!

It’s one of the best hotels to stay and explore downtown Chicago. Food at the hotel is really good and their Gourmet restaurant is good too.

Need a better selection of food for room service.

This property has got a fabulous location on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago. It is also located by tons of shopping and restaurants. The rooms offer some incredible views of Downtown Chicago. There is also a very lively cocktail lounge area right in the main lobby.

My husband and I chose to stay here for our 20th wedding anniversary because we’d love Chicago and enjoy visiting downtown restaurants especially Eataly which is in walking distance. Service at check in was excellent and calling for additional items like towels, etc., was easy. Room service was fast, but be prepared that it is served in bags, casual. Valet doesn’t call for cabs which is an issue during peak times of travel. Can be tough to get Ubers, etc., and you’re on your own. Overall, love this hotel. For the hotel
