I’m a suburban who came for the lights festival on the mag mile. The hotel is actually really cool. It has an antique rich history, type of vibe. I usually book Airbnbs when traveling with my kids - due to the space. It was very nice. I love that they had large games in the lobby. My kids loved that they had large chest pool, air hockey and foosball. We couldn’t find the pool balls, but everything else was great when we walked in. I love the Christmas decor. There was a ballroom with a large Christmas tree is beautiful and breakfast was great. I can’t recall the name of the breakfast restaurant. It was like table service. This area is in the south loop and close to a lot of things a quick Uber right away. The only reason why I don’t give it five stars is because our room was switched at the last minute and the full size beds were not very big.

The hotel was nice, it's a grand old building. Quiet, we had a nice big room. One thing they dont tell you on the reservation is they have a $25 a day resort fee. The fee gets you in the gym and pool. It also gives you a $10 food credit. Not a dealbreaker but nice to know up front

It was the first Hilton which charged for using the gym, and limited time at the pool. Also, the parking discount for guest was ridiculous. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Glasses in the room had mold in them, windows had dust and spider webs, didn’t refill toilet paper had to go down to get and had to keep asking for towels. Bed not made looked like someone slept in. Stayed here many times in the past and was never like this.

Upon check in, I was not offered water as a gold member this is a given. I got up to the room, there was no blanket on the bed, only sheets. It’s February. There was no wash clothes or hand towels in the room. The lotion and hand soap were missing. The shower was missing conditioner and body wash and only had shampoo on the wall. I left the door available for check in on day 2 of my stay and no one came by to make bed or update the missing items from the night before.

The hotel room was super run down. The bathroom was disgusting! The tile in the shower was so dirty, the mirror has toothpaste splattered all over it. The Kleenex box and the ice box were so old and worn out. I am so grossed out.

I discovered trash under the bed from the previous guest in our room when my cell phone rolled underneath. It was quite a bit of debris. When I contacted guest services, their tone was off-putting, and I wasn't pleased with how they managed my request. I specifically asked them to send someone to clean the room after I brought it to their attention.

This hotel was just ok. It was near the red line which was nice. Lots of convenience stores within walking distance. Somewhat near the Navy Pier. But the hotel room we had was not clean. They “cleaned” it but there was hair in the bathtub and the shower wall, the floor around the toilet had hair and fuzz and there was dried up pee that you could see on the bottom of the toilet/floor. The bed was just ok. Pillows terribly uncomfortable. Very small room. For the price, I don’t know if I’d stay again.

We were pushed to 'upgrade' to a lake view room, which we did for an additional $40. The room did have a wonderful view of the lake which was entirely blocked by the TV (had to unplug and move it) and the room was TINY. I wonder if all rooms are that small? We felt a bit scammed. There were stains right on top of the comforter. Only two tissues in the tissue box with plastic bubble wrap stuff underneath to make it seem like it was full. Water flooded the vanity every time we used the sink. The coffee maker had old dirty water in it. Overall, we were kind of disappointed for how expensive the hotel was. The hotel itself was beautiful but the room and amenities were underwhelming.

Great room for a good price. The room had 2 bathrooms! One with a walk in shower, the other with a shower/tub combo. The only reason for 4 stars is all the pillows had seen better days! Hilton usually has better beds and pillows.

For what we paid, this was not a good value, even with the convenient location to soldier field. First, there was a smoke detector light right above the bed. Why would they not put it by the door, I have no idea, but it made it hard to fall asleep. Second, the bed was not comfortable. The sheets were pretty rough and the bed was cheap and uncomfortable. We usually stay at hampton inns because their beds are comfortable, and we expected the beds here to be at least as comfortable as there. We both slept terribly and that outweighs the location asset.

Love the location and the grandeur of the hotel. I’ve stayed here for years both for pleasure and business. I would say that at this point the hotel is in need of updating. The service was still excellent but the room felt dated.

Well my room only had two lamps for lights, no overhead lighting at all. A very clear renovated ceiling that wasn’t even painted properly. The bathtub was rusting around the drain. Seals on windows are so thin that you can hear everything happening outside your room from the 10th floor

I was incredibly disappointed with my stay here. I stayed from 9/28/2024-9/29/2024 and booked a king suite. Upon arrival I was told they were “sold out” and was not offered any explanation besides stating they were sold out. I was offered a room with two double beds and I asked if there was any other options available. I was told I would be placed in 1 bed room with a queen mattress. Room 2002 to be exact. I then asked for the difference in price to be taken off my stay. The front desk member asked if I would like to speak to the manager and I said yes. She walked into the back office and came out stating the manager was busy but could offer 25% off. I agreed but was denied any documentation. Upon walking into the room 2002 it was a room with two double beds. At this point I am so disappointed that I would like a full refund. The body washes in both bathrooms were clearly used and halfway empty. There was dirt around the sinks and after spending so much money, to say I’m disappointed is an understatement.

I booked my room 6 months in advance. On the day of the booking, the hotel did not have my room ready, claiming since there was a show there were many walk-ins getting rooms. Since my lakeview room wasn't ready and couldn't tell me when it would be ready, the said I could change rooms from the two queens to a different room without the queens. They couldn't give me a room that was a lakeview. Mind that they reservation was for 3pm and we arrived at the hotel at 6 to check in. The free parking also was misleading. Their lot was full and they couldn't accommodate the free parking. Instead I had to pay for parking in a lot that only accommodates 12 hrs Our luggage also arrived at the room 50 minutes after checking. We almost missed our show because of it. It's such a disappointment for the money I spent on it.

The customer service was AMAZING! Everyone was super nice and extremely helpful. Parking a little expensive but super easy to get to and get out of and the elevators were super easy to find and get up and down on. Super clean, and the secretary is on a whole other level of amazing and friendly! Highly highly recommend and definitely will stay at the Hilton Chicago again when I visit!

This stay at Hilton Chicago downtown was average (at best). Initially check in was crowded and guest service staff did not provide any kind of customer service experience. The lines were not structured efficiently and did not move efficiently. When I first went to my room, with all of my belongings, I noticed that the room smelled like smoke. I called the front desk twice before I reached anyone and they agreed to move my room. I took all of my belongings back down to the lobby and waited again, in the line to get new keys, the guest service representative was terse at that time and did not acknowledge my experience. The condition of the second room was much better. The beds at this property are acceptable (not great) but the pillows are small and absolutely the worst pillows I have ever used at a hotel. I got many text messages during my stay about my experience but when I responded nobody contacted me. For example, I knew I was going to get back very late for a work event so I texted to request a late checkout. I never heard back. I called in, in the morning to ask for the late checkout and the representative denied the request immediately saying 'someone else is checking in right after you'. Then on the way out, I was stopped for a 'Hilton Grand Vacations' sales pitch. I am a Hilton Honors gold member and I stay at Hilton properties frequently for business travel. I am noticing the quality, especially in the customer service realm drastically declining.

The Hilton Chicago is an amazing historical gem with easy access to museums and Grant Park, and a slightly longer walk to the River and shopping venues on the Magnificent Mile. The staff were wonderful and the amenities at the hotel were even better than we expected. We especially enjoyed the pool and the newly installed game room on the lobby level.

As a solo traveler, I felt safe the entire time I was here and in the areas surrounding the hotel. The staff were friendly and the interior of the hotel lobby is beautiful. The hotel was clean and centrally located to all the things you “have to see/do” when in Chicago!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Chicago Hilton. Loved the ambiance and the inspiring architecture on entering and the old fashioned elevator lobby was a treat itself. The Irish Pub was outstanding with a nice atmosphere and not overly sports oriented like some. I was there during some kind of trade event but the place never felt crowded or had long waits for anything. My room on the 18th floor was a little spartan for my liking, though quite large, however for the amount spent I expected more. Had a nice view and was quiet enough so I’m not taking points away, but yes - a room update is past due if other rooms were like mine.

I have stayed in this hotel several times and always enjoyed the visit especially the location. They have made a number of changes that have diminished the experience. There is no longer an concierge service or a lobby service offering drinks. As we were having meetings an having to go to a shop to get coffee & drinks it disrupted the flow of the discussions. I would not stay again if I was meeting clients there.

The bed was comfy, and the staff very nice in all areas. The self parking was quite expensive at 77 dollars a night. Valet was 88 dollars a night. The bar/lounge area was very comfortable with a fire in the fireplace. The internet was slow and kept disconnecting. I stayed at a Hampton Inn by Hilton before and after this stay and their internet was much faster and stayed connected.

Super friendly staff, lyft bike/scooter rentals right across the street, close to lots of attractions and beaches. Starbucks on site which we loved. Kitty O’Sheas was not open which was unfortunate but we made due with local places instead. We would stay here again.
