We returned to stay at this hotel as we had stayed here before and liked the location and kitchen facilities and convenient groceries across the street. However, there are renovations underway and although we were not directly impacted, it was not great walking through halls with large fans located throughout and there were occasionally workers on the roof, If this work was noted in the description when booking, I didn’t see it. Also, for a large facility, there are only twelve lounge chairs at the pool and were frequently saved with towels all day. Otherwise, good clean space and stil convenient to neighborhood amenities.

Upon arrival I was downgraded to a queen room because they oversold the king suite. In 11 days, they changed my sheets once. Light maid service every 3 days. Sofa cushion in suite needed replacement. I arrived and for 10 of my 11 days, the roof was being replaced. Several large dead trees on the property. Small pool, needed skimming, I asked for them to vacuum it, they did. Free breakfast was overcooked , bacon paper thin, powdered eggs. . Seas leaves on your rental car each morning and the parking was full of leaves. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and a nuce bathroom.

Our recent stay at the Sonesta Plantation was disappointing and did not meet expectations. The property itself felt more like a construction site than a hotel. Hallways had unpainted plaster patches and visible holes, giving the hotel an unfinished and poorly maintained appearance. On the pool deck, ants were noticeable, and there were no pool towels available during our visit. To make matters worse, the pool area often smelled of smoke from cigars, hookah, and general smoking, which was unpleasant, especially for families. At times, there was even a strong odor of weed inside our suite. The amenities also fell short. The washer and dryer were broken, the pancake machine did not work, and only one side of the toaster functioned. The freezer door in our room would not stay shut, and the ice maker was out of order. These small but important details added up and made the stay frustrating. Breakfast was another letdown. The only hot items were watery scrambled eggs and sausages that looked more like hot dogs. While there was oatmeal, toast, yogurt, and muffins, the overall quality was far below what we expected. Overall, the Sonesta Plantation needs significant improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and amenities. At present, I would not recommend it for guests seeking a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

My first stay at Sonesta was excellent,. Efficient check-in. Sraff was courteous and very helpful. Very comfortable rooms, cleanliness, superb quality. Attention to detail. I enjoyed my stay and just booked another upcoming stay with Sonesta. Breakfast was excellent each morning. Fitness center, pool area i enjoyed the serenity.

Previously under the Staybridge brand you did not pay for parking now under Sonesta you pay $5 per day. Also Previously you did not pay for Amazon packages but now you pay $10 per package. Also we arrived at 9 and checked to what we thought was a king suite but turned out to be a double suite . The lady at the front desk tried to convinve me that it was an upgrade rather than just saying they were out of rooms and would do her best to sort out in the morning. I was told to speak to korning manager . Went in morning and though had full day planned was told inwould need to follow up to see if any room bacame available.

There was work happening in the vicinity of the elevator and one was out of action, causing queues for the other elevator. One staff member at reception was fabulous, the other appeared rather disinterested. Breakfast was fine, but it was very disappointing to have to use plastic plates and cutlery, creating a huge amount of rubbish.

I like the suites with full kitchen. The breakfast was very basic. Most of the staff are courteous. The night front desk lady never smiled. Looks very serious. Though i noticed that in the 6 nights I stayed there, there were always a person complaining at the front desk. For me, I only have one problem: the laundry. Laundry facilities needs to be changed or at least repaired.

This is the first time that our stay at Sonesta was a nightmare. Our room was infested with insects we complained multiple times with frontdesk staff and was told someone would come to inspect and recitify issue and still no resolution. We were informed management would follow up neither happened. Frontal staff was not helpful and brushed off our concerns. Kept giving us the runaround. This was the first and experience we’ve encountered since staying at a Sonesta property we stayed at others here in Florida and out of states and it’s never been like this.

The common gathering spaces are ok, but the elevators and hallways are run down and filthy. On my floor, the carpet was filthy and wet. There was a loud blower a few doors down attempting to dry it, circulating the foul odor into the air. The company charges for packing which is expected at some properties, however $10 per package, regardless of size and quantity of packages received is excessive. The staff however, were All cordial, welcoming and helpful. The checkin process was efficient.

Check in was easy and fast. The issue came after we got to the room. I booked 1 king bed room and was given 2 queen so I went back downstairs to get switched to the correct room. When I got back to the front desk to clear up the mix up, I was informed that my reservation had been changed by the hotel because they had no more king beds. When I asked why I was not informed beforehand so I could have made other arrangements, I was told that when the room booked are sold out, they automatically switch you rooms without notice. I feel that this is incredibly underhanded because what I received was not what Ipaid for. When I had no choice but to accept what I was given and go back to the room, my wife had found a razor guard still in the shower (from the previous resident) and also a hair wad wrapped around a hair tie on the middle of the bathroom floor. I've stayed at this hotel 1 week out of every 3 months for the last 4 years, even in the resent for work and I'm not sure if they got a new cleaning staff or what, but this room was gross as if the bed was made and they moved on to the next. The next morning, upon check out, cleaning staff was leaning on her cart texting and talking on her phone as 2 dead roaches were literally 2 feet from her cart. Between the room switch without notice, lack of room cleanliness, and Laxidasical staff, this will most likely be my last stay here. Dont know how it went down so quickly.

This property had little ants crawling on the kitchenette and in the bed. I liked the room but the decor is very outdated and the furniture is wore out. The staff was lovely and the grounds were well kept. The bread was very good each morning. I wouldn’t stay again due to the ants.

Normally I do not take the time write negative reviews but this hotel is one of the worst hotels i have stayed at, and i stay at 20 hotels per year. The pictures do not reflect the hotel other than the entryway. The building smells horrible, lights hanging off the ceilings in the hallways, the rooms are musty and partially cleaned when i checked in. Stayed for 5 nights and asked for room cleaning 3 times and was told it wasnt until the 7th day and that they wouldn't be able to clean my room until then even if i paid for it. On the 5th night i was able to get a few new towels so thats a positive! Overall the building lacks any sort of maintenance and shows extensive damage everywhere you turn from the neglect. I will say that it is located in a very nice area with plenty of good food and shopping around the area, and i will be back to the area again, but the hotel itself is one i will not be staying at again.

This was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A HOTEL. We checked in during a shift change because the other receptionist had to leave for a holiday party. When the new receptionist took over it took over 50 mins for us to just check in and get our room key, not keys for a family of 5. We were staying in a 2 bedroom suite, 3 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. There was no bedding for the sleeper sofa, when I attempted to call the front off no calls would go through. We got back late that night and had already showered and ready for bed as we were getting ready to fix the sleeper sofa bed. So we had to fix the bed with bedding from the other beds. When we checked in and took the elevator to our room there was something spilled in the elevator and outside the first level elevator door. When we left the next day the elevator and first floor level floor was still covered in something sticky substance. Additionally, the house keeping was not impressive. Both of the bathrooms had not been cleaned and the bathroom not in the master bedroom was still full of urine in the toilet. Was not impressed at all with any aspect of this location. Definitely will not be booking another stay with any of these hotels again.

The rooms are nice however the WiFi was not good. Couldn’t connect to it no matter what. They give you a password but there’s no prompt to enter it like at other hotels once you connect to it. Had to use my personal hot spot for internet. The TVs are outdated and there is no channel information or guide so you have to go through each channel to figure out what station it was (if it was abs or cbs etc). The breakfast is limited - not a lot of options— eggs/potatoes/sausage, cereal, n some pastries) have to pay for parking each night which is annoying and is ridiculous compare to surrounding hotels that don’t do that.

Bed was comfortable. Bathroom extremely small and outdated. Kitchen area is a plus. Biggest issue is no sign alerting to the property to make it stand out. GPS can get you to thd area , then since there is no sign, road around for 10 minutes before we found it. Only one small sign on the highway

After reading many reviews and seeing how good they are about this hotel I will say I was disappointed. The main attraction was the suite, living area and two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. The hotel is very old and could use many upgrades from the paint, carpets, lights, etc. We just arrived back from a cruise and we went to the hotel. We knew we were way early for check-in, but wanted to see if by chance the room would be ready. We were told there were no rooms, the hotel was sold out the night prior and the night we arrived. We were told to come back by 2:30 and they should have us a room. We came back after 2:30 and was treated not very nice by the same desk clerk. She explained nothing was ready, we should have understood the check in time (which we did and was told to come back at this time) and now there were six people ahead for check-in that was not there before. We were told we could have a seat in the lobby, have some free coffee, and use the pool. While that sounds good, you have to have a room key to enter the pool, but alas no room. We stayed and waited until 4 pm and right at 4 we were able to check in, different clerk, but just no personality. We got to the room, it was old, outdated and dirty furniture with tears and visible stains. The bathrooms were poorly lit and had mold in the grout in the shower. There was also two. Very long dark hair stains in the shower and on the soap dispenser. The breakfast was honestly the best part.

The room was overall very nice. The sofa was in need of repair or replacement but really this was the only issue. The room was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good with a nice dining area. If you don’t need to be right at the beach, I highly recommend this hotel.

She just said I don't know and walked away. I have never seen such indifference and lack of caring. It was shocking how much these people did not care about what we were experiencing. Eventually we escalated to expedia and miraculously the room was ready. So Expedia, well done in a bad situation. The hotel experience was appalling.

Unfortunately, the experience with the reception staff was very disappointing—except for the very polite and helpful young man working the night shift. He was the only one who showed professionalism and genuine care. On the other hand, one of the receptionists (I believe her name is Shobana or Shoshana) provided shockingly poor service. She was disrespectful, unhelpful, and gave the impression that guests were a burden rather than a priority. To make matters worse, we lost our wallet in the parking lot—with our IDs, passport, cash, and credit cards—and were told that there is no CCTV coverage in or around the parking area. This lack of security and follow-up was deeply frustrating and left us with no support in resolving the issue.

Mixed feelings... I'm giving this place a mixed review. The check in time is 4 o'clock and I came at 3:30. The gentleman at the front desk told me my room wasn't ready, but would be at four. I head out to run an errand and came back in an hour, and the room still wasn't ready. The lady (now at the desk) checked and checked and checked some more and finally told me they just wasn't anything available. She said the housekeeping staff was low. And once again. I headed out and came back a little after six. Again she looked and looked and finally found me a room. As a traveler who had been traveling all day, this was tiring. Granted she did hold my suitcase for me, but I had also bought a few groceries since this is a kitchenette. Next, I decided to cook something since I'm in a kitchenette: one of the burners never did heat up. The other one did great in fact, I burnt my food. Furthermore, the lighting; just seems dingy and gloomy in here. The lighting is pretty poor. Even with the windows open and the sun shining. The bed is really comfortable! That's a plus. The breakfast is pretty good for a hotel. Sausages and eggs and yogurt; the typical breakfast fair. But the lady who manages it at least changes things up a bit. One morning she actually had tortillas and fresh salsa. Decent coffee with real half-and-half provided. The gym is doable. Except there's absolutely no towels or Handi wipes to clean the machines. Check in was easy and fast. The issue came after we got to the room. I booked 1 king bed room and was given 2 queen so I went back downstairs to get switched to the correct room. When I got back to the front desk to clear up the mix up, I was informed that my reservation had been changed by the hotel because they had no more king beds. When I asked why I was not informed beforehand so I could have made other arrangements, I was told that when the room booked are sold out, they automatically switch you rooms without notice. I feel that this is incredibly underhanded because what I received was not what Ipaid for. When I had no choice but to accept what I was given and go back to the room, my wife had found a razor guard still in the shower (from the previous resident) and also a hair wad wrapped around a hair tie on the middle of the bathroom floor. I've stayed at this hotel 1 week out of every 3 months for the last 4 years, even in the resent for work and I'm not sure if they got a new cleaning staff or what, but this room was gross as if the bed was made and they moved on to the next. The next morning, upon check out, cleaning staff was leaning on her cart texting and talking on her phone as 2 dead roaches were literally 2 feet from her cart. Between the room switch without notice, lack of room cleanliness, and Laxidasical staff, this will most likely be my last stay here. Dont know how it went down so quickly.

Very pleased with this hotel – nice, clean, well-maintained, and quiet hotel. No "riff raff" around, as they say. (Florida can be shady) If you're staying for an extended period, there's a Publix right next door. Really nice BBQ grills, pool area, and hot breakfast service. Staff treats you like family – Amber, Eva, Reginald, and Antonia were all fantastic.

I can’t say enough good things about this property. By a miracle I reserved a room here to evacuate my parents from Hurricane Milton. Not only did we have a refuge, but this hotel was very nice. The staff was amazing and kind. They themselves were dealing with the stress of their own situations, but they were patient, kind, and helpful to all of us running from the storm with our pets. It was a wonderful experience even under the dire circumstances. They even have great coffee, which is rare for this level of property. The area good, with a Publix in walking distance, and many restaurants nearby. It’s super easy to get to from 595/Alligator Alley. Thank you to the staff for everything.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, they only does housekeeping if you stay for a full week otherwise it is an additional charge. They should at the very least change the garbages or offer a place to leave garbage bags especially considering there is a kitchenette and a lot of people have food in their rooms. Other than that, it’s a nice little hotel!

All people that we had contact with at the hotel were pleasant and welcoming. Room was clean. It is a great place to stay as it is close to hospital, shopping and restaurants.The only downfall was the tub drains in our rooms were not working and filled up the tub when we showered. We would come back again and stay. Highly recommend.

There was an a/c leak in the lobby the entire time i was there and the pool was not clean. I request extra ammenties for the room which i got about two days later. The bathrooms are extremely small and the tub leaked from the outside everytime i used it. Some positives are the surrounding area which felt safe and close to gas stations and the westfield mall. Overall, i probably would not stay at this hotel again unless they make some major changes. The staff were not rude but could be a bit more enthusiast about their service delivery.

We enjoy Sonesta ES in Plantation. The rooms are very nice and comfortable and breakfast is really good. I like that they change up the breakfast offerings each day too. I was only disappointed this time because I asked for a receipt when checking out and was given one with only the total, not an itemization. I also wish they just rolled the $5/day parking fee into the room price, but not a big deal.

This property was clean, cold ac throught out the halls, elevator and my room, it also smelled nice with air freshner that auto sprayed. Theres also a fireplace and tv downstairs. My room was small but nice, clean no bugs, one lamp did have a bit of tarnish at the bottom and my fridge had a small odor nothing major (probably just needs some baking soda) comfortable bed and well stocked free toiletries. It was easy to get towels from the desk as needed. I was there 3 days and the wafflemaker was never working at breakfast 🙁 that made me sad, breakfast was basic but clean and stocked. There's a nice gym and laundry is FREE. I didnt get to use the pool, and Publix is across the street and theres also a library within walking distance. Overall 9/10 I will be back.

Our recent stay at the Sonesta Plantation was disappointing and did not meet expectations. The property itself felt more like a construction site than a hotel. Hallways had unpainted plaster patches and visible holes, giving the hotel an unfinished and poorly maintained appearance. On the pool deck, ants were noticeable, and there were no pool towels available during our visit. To make matters worse, the pool area often smelled of smoke from cigars, hookah, and general smoking, which was unpleasant, especially for families. At times, there was even a strong odor of weed inside our suite. The amenities also fell short. The washer and dryer were broken, the pancake machine did not work, and only one side of the toaster functioned. The freezer door in our room would not stay shut, and the ice maker was out of order. These small but important details added up and made the stay frustrating. Breakfast was another letdown. The only hot items were watery scrambled eggs and sausages that looked more like hot dogs. While there was oatmeal, toast, yogurt, and muffins, the overall quality was far below what we expected. Overall, the Sonesta Plantation needs significant improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and amenities. At present, I would not recommend it for guests seeking a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The washer and dryer were broken, the pancake machine did not work, and only one side of the toaster functioned. The freezer door in our room would not stay shut, and the ice maker was out of order. These small but important details added up and made the stay frustrating. Breakfast was another letdown. The only hot items were watery scrambled eggs and sausages that looked more like hot dogs. While there was oatmeal, toast, yogurt, and muffins, the overall quality was far below what we expected. Overall, the Sonesta Plantation needs significant improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and amenities. At present, I would not recommend it for guests seeking a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast (although nothing fancy) was nice to wake up to every morning!

The room was overall very nice. The sofa was in need of repair or replacement but really this was the only issue. The room was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good with a nice dining area. If you don’t need to be right at the beach, I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff is friendly but the facility needs some work. The interior of the washers smell. The breakfast is subpar and the same every few days which isn’t great if you intend to stay more than 2-3 days.

Overall we had a good experience but had to deal with an issue where I was charged twice for parking that I had already paid for. Breakfast selection was nice and the staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and had all the necessary amenities that we needed. The location was ideal for shopping and dining. I would stay here again if I’m in the area and would recommended to others.

On the first night I asked for a pillow so that my son can sleep in the sofa bed, they didn’t bring it. I had to go downstairs to the front desk. When they did bring up the pillow, it didn’t have a pillow case. Secondly, the toilet couldn’t flush so my mom had to use one of the trash cans to put water in it to flush the toilets (was so frustrating).
