On webpage property looks amazing and outside it does. When you walk in it’s indeed very old it’s not that it’s old historic kind of building but needs maintainable. It seems like I stayed in geriatric accomodation . Even carpet looks and smells old . Breakfast is healthy but again limited options with same menu everyday more likely of Rolf people kind of breakfast . Rooms are smaller No bright light in rooms and wall paint is darker . No proper vanity in bathroom and not spacious so there is a struggle with if you have stuff to place . No slippers or gown provided or even no complimentary water bottles provided . They don’t provide clean towels everyday for environmental purpose as it’s written there in bathroom. Coffee and tea available in kettles . No optiont for other like flat latte or cappuccino with buffet. Happy hour is it really happy hour like two for one . About $3 reduced for happy hour. No gym or pool facilities . Overall it’s a okay place and I wouldn’t stay next time and I don’t think it is even 4 and half star . Except location and staff are very helpful .

Lovely old world charm with a few rough edges. It has a really good bar but with erratic closing times which was very annoying. Unfortunately the hotel no longer operates it’s restaurant so whereas on prior visits the bar was a place to congregate and enjoy others company whilst having a meal this time it was obvious people came to have a quick drink and then went elsewhere for dinner. The atmosphere was completely destroyed…. very unfortunate and a loss of revenue for the hotel. Other elements of the hotel were a little shabby like the worn lobby seats which need some attention. However the hotel still stands up as a lovely place to stay helped along by the friendly enthusiasm of the staff…. especially the front desk staff who seem like they really enjoy what they are doing. Just hope the owners put a little more love into the hotel and as as bringing back meals to the bar, not just cold snacks.

Lovely hotel. Loved the pianist on Saturday night. Not so fond of the barman who called last orders at 8.30 on Monday despite the notice saying that the bar was open every night until 9pm. Everyone else was lovely.

The hotel itself is rich in history and the decor is what you would expect. The rooms were kept very tidy and clean, as was all areas of the hotel. My only gripe is the parking and the access to it. By the way, if you ask me (a customer) how was my stay and I give you feedback on the parking, I don't expect a lecture on how lucky I am to get parking for $5 a day. Let me be very clear here, the parking location is terrible. You have to walk down the street and around the corner of another street to find the entrance. There are 8 levels (including 4a, 5a, 6a, etc) to circumnavigate each time you enter or leave the building. It feels like a trek in it's own right and to be honest, put us off even wanting to use the car. Yes, it's $5 a day, however most, if not all hotels have their own carparks. I actually would've been happier to pay $20 a day for parking if it was more accessible. It should be more clear on your website on the parking situation. This would at least give people a choice on whether to rent a car or not. Otherwise, thank you for a lovely stay in the hotel.

Enjoyed the character of the building. Staff were wonderful and helpful. Car park is away, but got use to it, and great price per night. The staff made New Years Eve special, aways cheerful.

The hotel is a lovely old establishment, one of the first in Hobart. We were very happy with the reception staff as they were very polite and helpful. Although the site shows pictures of the lovely dining and restaurant area don’t expect it to be open unless it’s the peak season,this was not specified on the site and we were disappointed we couldn’t dine there. Our room was very spacious with an enormous oversized bed and a nice view of the old church opposite. A bit dusty behind the bed but otherwise very clean. I would recommend it just for the old world charm and very central location to shops and the harbor.

They had a lovely art exhibition at the time and also hosted a wedding but the hotel was undergoing renovations and our floor was being painted - there were fumes and drop sheets all over the floor as we were trying to get to our room. The room was cold - at no point during the booking process was I advised about the Renovations and no effort was made to reduce the rate for the inconvenience. I tried to park outside the hotel to check in after - 6 hour drive and was stopped by another guest saying she was saving it for her friend so they didn’t have to park on a metre - not the hotels fault but perhaps larger loading zone outside the hotel.

Location is good. Close to all your Hobart experiences. My room was really noisy, I heard the music from reception and every time someone walked the hallway. If you stay there, ask for a room further away from reception and back of hallway. It's stairs all over so not suitable if you're not good with steps and stairs. Breakfast is poor, but breakfast staff is really friendly and helpful. Toilet paper holder kept falling down from the wall, and shower handle does not fit the holder on the wall. But maybe that's expected in an old building. If u was GM herre i would stay one night in each room myself to see what's need to be maintained.

From the moment I walked into the foyer to check-in, I received a warm welcome and clear instruction regarding their off-site car park facilities (very easy to navigate). This hotel oozes nostalgic charm with modern twists keeping it up to date with current times. The room was clean, with a well sized mini fridge, soft bedding for an easy nights sleep, and ample bathroom with all the expected quality soaps/moisturisers. The hotel is well positioned making anything in Hobart’s CBD only a short walk away. Definitely a place to consider for anyone travelling to Hobart/Tasmania.

Pleasant stay, quiet room with nicely updated bathroom. Enjoyed the beautiful old building with lovely bar and dining room. Climate control is really good for such an old building. Staff were very courteous and accommodating.

Hadley’s Orient Hotel is in a beautiful old building with excellent amenities and staff. Unfortunately the air conditioner in our room dripped constantly and added to our overall feeling that the property is tiring a little. A pleasant stay in a beautiful heritage hotel.

The floor of the room was uneven and the lift felt a little sketchy to get into. But it was a very old building and its beautiful. The family room was very spacious, though the bathroom was very small. Staff were very nice.

The only issue we had was the shower, the water temperature was hot then cold on a regular basis. So, having a shower was not easy, one moment its perfect, then scolding, then ice cold. Otherwise is was terrific. Great Breakfast.

Incredible staff, comfortable beds, and well appointed room, perfect location. Hadleys is a beautiful example of preservation of a time gone by. A truly beautiful piece of Hobart’s history. The continental breakfast buffet was rather average, we only ate here for 1 of our 5 days while staying at the hotel. The rooms could definitely benefit from some tv upgrades. The TV’s are quite old and are not smart. We would absolutely stay here again if ever we’re back in Hobart.

We like Hadley’s Orient it is a comfortable, stylish and well located place to stay in Hobart. This was our second stay at Hadley’s and it was even better than the last. It is a hotel with a distinct sense of style which makes any stay more of an event than a faceless modern glass, brick and steel alternative. The staff were universally helpful, whether on reception or in the bar and restaurant. The Hotel is very well located, being a short distance from the waterfront and Salamanca Place. Similarly the shopping centre or downtown car rental locations are only a short walk away. Should we ever be in Hobart again we would not hesitate to stay at Hadley’s.

The hotel itself is rich in history and the decor is what you would expect. The rooms were kept very tidy and clean, as was all areas of the hotel. My only gripe is the parking and the access to it. By the way, if you ask me (a customer) how was my stay and I give you feedback on the parking, I don't expect a lecture on how lucky I am to get parking for $5 a day. Let me be very clear here, the parking location is terrible. You have to walk down the street and around the corner of another street to find the entrance. There are 8 levels (including 4a, 5a, 6a, etc) to circumnavigate each time you enter or leave the building. It feels like a trek in it's own right and to be honest, put us off even wanting to use the car. Yes, it's $5 a day, however most, if not all hotels have their own carparks. I actually would've been happier to pay $20 a day for parking if it was more accessible. It should be more clear on your website on the parking situation. This would at least give people a choice on whether to rent a car or not. Otherwise, thank you for a lovely stay in the hotel.

The reception staff made me welcome from the moment of my arrival. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, and the bar was a beautiful place to relax at the end of the day. Ideal location within walking distance of the waterfront and Salamanca. I stayed for over a week and don't have a single complaint.

Hadley's Orient has lovely decor and atmosphere from a bygone era. Staff were welcoming and helpful and overall it was a very pleasant, comfortable experience. There was a problem one morning with a breakfast order not being processed but we were not charged for the error and the staff apologised for the oversight. Would be happy to stay there again.

Location is good. Close to all your Hobart experiences. My room was really noisy, I heard the music from reception and every time someone walked the hallway. If you stay there, ask for a room further away from reception and back of hallway. It's stairs all over so not suitable if you're not good with steps and stairs. Breakfast is poor, but breakfast staff is really friendly and helpful. Toilet paper holder kept falling down from the wall, and shower handle does not fit the holder on the wall. But maybe that's expected in an old building. If u was GM herre i would stay one night in each room myself to see what's need to be maintained.

Lovely hotel. Loved the pianist on Saturday night. Not so fond of the barman who called last orders at 8.30 on Monday despite the notice saying that the bar was open every night until 9pm. Everyone else was lovely.

I was extremely disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the two nights I was booked in. As a regular business visitor to Hobart and being tired at the end of each day I much prefer to dine in house. I have stayed at Hadlys on quite a few occasions over many years and can't recall the restaurant being closed before. This will be a consideration when booking in future.

Although we paid for breakfasts in our booking, the waitress insisted charging extra for small amount of bacon if I only wanted a poached egg with it instead of the full plate. No bar or restaurant on Sunday evening. Lovely otherwise.

From the awesome staff at check in to my pot of tea before going to the airport, and the 2 room Victorian Suite in between Hadleys was a delight. Like stepping back into the roaring twenties I loved my 2 day stay. And so convenient for Salamanca and Hobart CBD.

Very old worldly hotel. Lovely big room with 2 king beds. The first floor is all up hill and down dale - a bit tricky with luggage. Lovely breakfast and great coffee. The staff are excellent. They need an operational restaurant on site.
