No heater just a small space heater the room was freezing, no shower curtain, property said it included a car space and then was told two days before that it’s first come for the spaces so constantly had no space

Its Budget accomodation in a multi-storey building that has seen better days. What can't be comprromised is customer safety, the stairs leading from ground to 1st, 2nd & 3rd floor have extensively frayed carpet edges at the fron of the steps, thiscould easily result in a major fall, this looks to have been like this for years ... cleanliness in the bathrrom was also an issue and needs more attention ... the Towels were clean the bed was clean and comfortable I'd give it 3 stars because its conveniently located .... reception from the young man was welcoming and unfussed ... mobile communication from the venue was helpful, but parking at the edn of a day exploring was non-existent and could result in parking fines if parking in the local streets.

Don't like self check in, foyer and stairs are awful. Limited parking which was only told about by email giving self check in details, no lift. Shower was weird with no curtain or door. 2 cups and 2 teaspoons only supplied, no toaster, plates, knives so couldn't have toast in the morning. location is good. We had an end room which had a great view but overall would not recommend.

Parking often not available although advertised with onsite parking. There is an unmarked drain against a small building that has no signage, is dangerous.

The position of the property was excellent.Of course the property being long established did not have a lift and I was on the top floor so many steps had to be climbed.Luckily I did not have very heavy luggage.Because the property is in the more established category it would probably do with a makeover but my room was spacious and clean and the bed linen and towels were clean too so although my stay was just one night it was comfortable.

Lack of car parking meant I had to park 100 metres away from the motel.

Sadly if you aren’t staying on the ground floor there are a lot of stairs to drag your suitcase us and down, hard if you are elderly

Filthy Room I have written details several times and it was not accepted. So here is toned down version. Thats how bad this place is! Not safe to have a shower. Unable to contact staff at all.who would not answer either phone or text. Mould almost about 30cm up walls under basin and at cistern. Health hazard. Reception next morning no help at all. Refused to refund or compensate me.

I have to say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is a bio-hazard waiting to happen. The filth was astounding. Even if a room is cheap it should be clean. Blood on wall tiles in bathroom, toothpaste over taps, smears of who knows what and hair over shower walls. Brown smears on side table and bed head,dirt and grime in floors. Window broken so didn't shut properly. Room was freezing and no electric blanket or additional blankets. Disgusting and would not ever recommend ! Have countless photos but they wouldn't upload

Beware...nothing like the photos, leaking cealing, holes in tiles, holes in carpet on stairs which is a tripping hazard, reception never open, i could go on...

The staff are helpful and friendly, the property is inexpensive and older style. The room had been refurbish but was looking a little tired. The bedding and towels were clean but overall the room needed a big dust and deep bathroom clean.

Property was in good location. Bathroom had mold in the shower. Carpet on all stairs was ripped and torn - quite dangerous.

This was a basic motel, close to the centre. It really was bang average but needs a refurb. Our room was covered in black hair when we arrived and cup ring stains on surfaces. The entire place needs a Serious clean. It’s location is great and the staff are lovely but if you’re precious about cleanliness I wouldn’t stay here.

It served its purpose; however, it was very unclean. The sheets were clean though. Also, during the night it was very noisy. A vacuum cleaner going late in the evening. They were NOT vacuuming our room.

Location was good, walkable to dining areas and water front. Room was run down, carpet threadbare, tap loose in bathroom and tap handle fell off on the hot water tap in shower. Nail strip to hold carpet down was bare and was covered by using a towel. The sliding door to bathroom falls off if you pull it on an angle. No flywire on windows. Fridge had every shelf broken and had solid ice on the element. Luckily we didnt need to use it. Broken tiles in shower with no screen so water covered half the bathroom floor. Beds were comfortable and linen clean

Blue Hills Motel is well situated to explore Battery Point, Salamanca Place and central Hobart. The owners have obviously begun a renovation, our room at least had been modernised although the bathroom was tiny and fittings were already broken, but there is a long way to go with the common areas. It is very affordable for its location, so if you can handle all that, it’s recommended.

Good location and comfortable with lovely view from window and comfortable bed. Needs some maintenance - threadbare carpet in entrance. Window didn't close properly No service of rooms: rubbish, cleaning, fresh towels

Great location. Very much a budget motel. Stayed five nights and the room was not serviced duting that time. The room was OK, the bed good and the hot water excellent. The whole biulding is very much in need of major renovation and repair.

Room was pleasant, walls very thin so can hear other rooms easily. Outside needs overhauling badly

Only good for a place to sleep if you are desperate - had to stuff the pillows with clothes (the pillow on their own is thin and extremely clumpy... very slept on!), the bed has caused me to visit my chiro (we were there for 3 nights), would have had a better shower if i was able to run myself under the sink tap (but the sink is the size of my hand and the under pipe is broken... not that it matters as the room floods when you turn the shower on anyway!). If you're not used to sleeping with lights flooding through moldy curtains, then bring an eye mask (and earplugs, doors seem to slam at all hours of the night)! Also, don't stress if you forget your underwear, there is some hanging in the cupboard from previous tenants... yuck! This is a harsh review, yet i was somewhat catfished by the photos and did not get what i was expecting at all... i did look for other hotels (happily willing to lose the money we had already spent on this accommodation) but there was no vacancy anywhere. The major saving grace is that it is in a great location, about a 10 min walk downhill to Salamanca Place.

This was more of a self serve property. The front desk was never staffed and when I checked in,4pm ish on. Tuesday I called the number and they gave me a code to a lock box. The room was nice but the hallway had a big echo from anyone in it and the carpet on the stairs was very worn. Also the windows were quite old and conducted so I d quite clearly from the nearby busy street. That being said the location was good, the battery park area is a very cute and attractive neighborhood.

The staff were really unhelpful. The room was sparce. The bathroom tap was broken. Very loose. The passage and steps, the carpet was very worn. We will not be back.

Old and dirty hotel but was only one on New Year’s Eve that didn’t cost something ridiculous. Carpet was direct, tiles missing from the bathroom and just overall not the cleanest. Front reception staff was helpful.

Blue Hills Motel offers affordable accommodation in an excellent location. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the price is unbeatable. I had two bookings throughout the duration of my stay, so experienced a renovated and unrenovated room. Some guests may find the unrenovated rooms shabby, however if you are happy with a bed and clean bathroom, it has everything you need. My only complaint is that the rooms were a bit dusty. This could be easily managed during the cleaning routine. Other than this, I enjoyed my stay and would return.

The receptionist was friendly and asked about needing anything. The room however was not serviced. The bathroom had no shower screen. But the room itself was functional although it had no air con or openable window, only door window could open cm. The property rate of $107 was overpriced in my opinion. This could become a good property but significant money needs to be spend

It was a bit run down but clean. Staff were very responsive to an issue with the room and very prompt in finding a solution.

Hi, This property is advertised as a hotel, but it is closer to a hostel. We would have not stayed there after seeing it but it was at a peak time and there were no other rooms available elsewhere. It was grubby, the damaged carpet on the stairs was unsafe, thee was a broken window in the room that was unsafe, and there were two fights going on, one in the corridor outside our room. It was only a little less expensive than other rooms that we have had on our trip that were ok, but I was fooled by the great pictures that are shown on the website, taken by someone very clever and highly skilled. There was no air-conditioning. There was a fan, but I had to clean a heap of fluff off it before we used it - yuk. The blinds were broken too, as well as the presence of black mould on them and here and there in the room. The staff member who greeted us was fantastic and really helpful.

Hi guys, thanks for the stay the night before Point to Pinicle. The room was simply but had a clean and comfy bed which was all I wanted. Staff were very nice and friendly. The price was very fair which I appreciated. I would stay again.

very handy location

Close to Salamanca and Sandy Bay. Neat, clean and tidy room. Process from the outset was straightforward.

Staff are really friendly. Building is lovely art deco, great location to view the waters and stars and convenient walk away from amenities and the city (If you enjoy walks). Public transport just out front, heritage suburb just "behind". The room is not a hotel but is good enough for resting, and you are getting heritage, friendliness and convenience to the important things - experience!

The view that we had from the top floor was lovely, especially at night. It was close to town that we walked rather than drive and it’s really close to the Saturday market. There was plenty of eateries to choose from that were a short walk away. It was a great place to stay at to start off the holiday

This is the third time that I have stayed at this property. My room had been recently updated and was small but adequate. It had a double bed and a single bed in it, and everything that I needed. This motel is conveniently located within walking distance of Salamanca and Sandy Bay in Hobart. I am happy to recommend it, particularly for overnight accommodation.

Cheap with great views of Mount Wellington, as well as being conveniently close to the centre of Sandy Bay.

You can reach the main city attractions and restaurants on foot, so it is recommended for regular tourists. The room facilities are simple but sufficient, making it very worthwhile at this price.
