We had a comfortable 3-night stay at the Maritim Hotel. The hotel is in a convenient location close to the sea and the forest, which is perfect for anyone interested in early morning walks and swimming. We traveled with our 4-year-old son, and the family room was spacious enough for us, complete with a balcony. However, it would have been better if the balcony and its furniture were cleaner. The only downside was the lack of a fitness room, which we felt should be easy to add given how spacious the hotel is.

It felt like stepping onto a beautifully preserved ocean liner from another era. Rather than feeling dated, it read as genuinely characterful: warm, nostalgic, and refreshingly exotic compared to the sea of identical minimalist hotels everywhere else. If you’re after something with real personality instead of another beige, glass-and-concrete box, this is it. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Not a great experience. No air conditioning or fan, which made the room almost intolerable. The pool was over chlorinated and getting in and out was like entering a jail. Check in was overly bureaucratic - only a passport would suffice, not a drivers licence. Not enough parking so we were told to find something on the street. Room service (we just ordered some cold drinks) handed us some glasses and the bottles, didn’t bother with a tray. One of the lifts was broken, but rather than consider guest safety, they kept it going and guests had to step up or step down and watch their own safety.
