Our second floor room looked out onto the square that is in front of the Madrid Opera House, and between that and the hostal is the Opera metro entrance. Madrid is a beautiful, bustling city and Hostal Oriente is an ideal location from which to explore it. We could see and hear Madrid’s liveliness from our little balcony but that’s part of the attractiveness of vacationing in a city. Cities might rarely sleep but we slept soundly with our very comfortable double kingsize and the aircon on. The Royal Palace or the Plaza Mayor are a short walk away, as are great places to eat, shop or just sit and relax with a coffee. There was also the convenience of a coffee machine on our floor for the €1 a time caffeine shot if you wanted one on waking. We’ll be going back to Madrid, and I’m sure we’ll be looking to see if the Hostal Oriente is available to have us stay again when we do.

Great room. Spotless. Simple, no amenities at all except soap and towels/very clean bathroom. But i recommend you book diectly as they offer early check in on their website but with other types of reservations youll be charged 30 euro for early check in.

Está muy bien situado. Cerca de los puntos principales. El metro y parada de taxis en la puerta. Muchas cafeterías y restaurantes alrededor. Está en zona peatonal. Como punto débil, que la entrada despista, es una portería normal ya que también es una finca con propietarios. Pero con muy buena accesibilidad ya que tiene rampa para carritos o sillas de ruedas.

Small, clean, efficient rooms. If there were controls for the room temperature, we could not find them. It is very, very loud with human noise by day and truck noise by night, so we had to keep the windows closed, even though it was stifling. Upon our arrival, we rang a doorbell and were buzzed into a dark, unmarked hallway. After fumbling for several minutes through apps and messages to look for any instructions they may have been sent, we discovered a check-in table in a hallway several flights up. It would have been very helpful had they come to greet and guide us.

Just a crappy hotel for way too much money. I know $200 a night isn’t anything crazy but this place was pretty bad. We weren’t even allowed to use the air conditioner because it isn’t made yet even though the room was hot. One pillow per bed. No coffee maker. Just crappy.

Hostal Oriente is steps away from Opera metro station and close to major sites. An excellent location! Our room 101 was spotless. I couldn’t find fault with the room or bathroom. Cleanliness is extremely important to us and we were very surprised with how well the room is cleaned. The only issue we had was that we could hear the metro and people using the stairs. We would definitely stay there again but we would request a different room.

客室はとても綺麗に清掃されていました。 広く快適に過ごすことができました。 ただ1点、2日間滞在したうち1日はシャワーからお湯がほぼ出ず、ぬるま湯無いし、水を浴びる羽目になり、極寒でした。 一緒に泊まった友人他2名も私とは別日ですがお湯が出なかったと言っていました。 それ以外は快適でした！

The location was very convenient and you can walk to all the major attractions. The room was very clean and probably due to renovation was done relatively recently from what I have read in the review. The staff were kind and very helpful. A couple of things… I wish entrance was more visible. Four other people and myself ended up trying to figure out how to get in. We eventually got buzzed in. I opted for a room without a view but I think I will pay bit more to get a room facing outside.

It was very clean and the staff were very nice. I had a room on a courtyard and did not hear the busy plaza outside. The hostal gives onto the Opera and is 5 minutes from the Royal Palace and its galleries. It is right in front of the metro. Ideal for visiting Madrid.

Cute hotel in the middle of the old town of space, walking distance from El Mercado de San Miguel and the plaza mayor. We loved having a small balcony to looked out at the quarter but it is just very loud and people don’t go to bed until two in the morning. If you are willing to stay up, this is a great small hotel at a decent price.

Our second floor room looked out onto the square that is in front of the Madrid Opera House, and between that and the hostal is the Opera metro entrance. Madrid is a beautiful, bustling city and Hostal Oriente is an ideal location from which to explore it. We could see and hear Madrid’s liveliness from our little balcony but that’s part of the attractiveness of vacationing in a city. Cities might rarely sleep but we slept soundly with our very comfortable double kingsize and the aircon on. The Royal Palace or the Plaza Mayor are a short walk away, as are great places to eat, shop or just sit and relax with a coffee. There was also the convenience of a coffee machine on our floor for the €1 a time caffeine shot if you wanted one on waking. We’ll be going back to Madrid, and I’m sure we’ll be looking to see if the Hostal Oriente is available to have us stay again when we do.

Staff is very nice and helpful. They gave me good recommendations about places to eat and visit. Location of hotel is excellent: Opera metro station just a few steps away and you just need to walk 5 blocks to get to the Plaza El Sol and Plaza Mayor. Hostal Oriente offers a very basic furniture setup.

Está muy bien situado. Cerca de los puntos principales. El metro y parada de taxis en la puerta. Muchas cafeterías y restaurantes alrededor. Está en zona peatonal. Como punto débil, que la entrada despista, es una portería normal ya que también es una finca con propietarios. Pero con muy buena accesibilidad ya que tiene rampa para carritos o sillas de ruedas.

It was very clean and the staff were very nice. I had a room on a courtyard and did not hear the busy plaza outside. The hostal gives onto the Opera and is 5 minutes from the Royal Palace and its galleries. It is right in front of the metro. Ideal for visiting Madrid.
