Hotelstaff is friendly, but not very used to foreigners. Room itself was old, worn-out: cracks in wall, peeling woodwork, torn curtains and cockroach in the bathroom.. Fooddelivery was carried instead of rolling cart. It is heavy and made staff overwelmed and very impatient while delivering the food. Not what we expected from a Sofitel..

It's an old hotel with dark rooms. We were apparently upgraded to a so called suite but still very dark and old. Though their were two bathrooms but were smelling and the main bath I banged my head several times sitting and getting up from the toilet seat on the mirror at the front. Though the breakfast was good. The weighing scale wasn't working

The staff was warm welcoming and very helpfull from the 1st day. A special mention for Andy Song at the Concierge, every one spoke good english compare to our very poor mandarin. This made our 4 nights stay in Xian very nice and easy. Our room had a nice calm view
