Riu Bambu - All Inclusive

En general limpiaria mas la piscina, ya que hay mucha gente. Los tragos son con demasiada azucar. Quizas los restaurantes ofrecer mas a la carta y no buffet. Un carrito para ir a las habitaciones estaria super, la caminata es un poco larga. En el buffet principal hay moscas, no es comodo comer asi. Los riu party son lo mejor. Me la pase super en general.

The property itself is okay, but the weather and the beach are absolutely phenomenal. The hotel has three pools, a small gym that gets crowded quickly, and a water park the kids really enjoyed. The beach is within walking distance, which is a big plus. The amenities overall are good, and the kids’ club (for ages 5–10) offers great activities to keep children entertained. However, the bar and dining options need a lot of improvement. The food quality feels similar to a basic cruise-ship buffet—plenty of choices but not many that feel healthy or particularly good. There is only one à la carte restaurant, the steakhouse, which is actually quite good, but you need to arrive before 6 p.m. because they reach their nightly capacity fast. The other themed restaurants (Spanish, Italian, and Hibachi) range from poor to just decent. As for the rooms, we had to switch on the first night. We originally booked a double room for a family of four (two adults and two young children), but we were given a king bed with an uncomfortable sofa bed. We were moved to a double room, but both the room and the beds were very small. The cleanliness was disappointing— we even found a large roach in the room, which was pretty nasty. They sprayed the room afterward, and we didn’t see any more, but it definitely affected our impression. The AC also turns off around 4 a.m., making the room uncomfortably. On a positive note, the staff is friendly and genuinely tries to ensure guests enjoy their stay.

In our room there was water coming out of the AC and the floor was soaked. The adult pool and bar was always dirty, full of glasses and people smoking inside the pool

There was no power for more than 24h and nobody gave us any information about what was going on whasoever. It was extremely hot, no wi-fi, the food service was terrible and the hotel didn’t offer any compensation for this awful experience. I won’t return to any Riu Hotels in my life and I will share all the details of my horrible experience in all my social medias.

Para fiesta es el mejor.

Our overall experience at Hotel Riu Bambu was great. The service and restaurants were truly top-notch, and the staff was welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. That said, there were a few issues worth mentioning. Upon arrival, our room had a problem with the lock, which made us wait and lose about an hour of our stay. The cleanliness of the public bathrooms and swimming pools could be improved — the pools in particular seemed to have filtering issues. On the beach, there was a lot of seaweed accumulation, which wasn’t always well managed, and we also felt that more security is needed to control the presence of drug dealers in the beach area. The hotel itself was massive and fully occupied, which created a lively atmosphere. However, it was strange to see that the neighboring Riu hotel was almost empty in comparison. Special thanks to Casandra at the swimming pool bar, who provided us with excellent service and made our stay even more enjoyable.

Me gustó mucho el parque acuático.

The resort lost partial power for two days during our stay. We had to ask for a new room with power, but we were treated like an inconvenience. Management did little else to remedy the problem—no offer of credit or refund. The restaurants had no power, so we sat in the dark to eat.

Estuvimos más de 24 horas sin luz, no había proteína de comida y el menú era Mega limitado por ausencia de luz. Fue pésimo el servicio

my bathroom was dirty and had hair in the shower and in the pool was dirty too

En general no estuvo tan mal pero los cuartos tienen un fuertisimo olor a humedad. En los restaurantes hay una plaga de moscas que es bastante desagradable comer así. En los restaurantes que son abiertos el calor es insoportable tienen ventiladores de adorno porque no sirven. En el área de la piscina no hay mucha limpieza es desagradable tener que recoger los vasos usados de otras personas para evitar que vengan las moscas y las abejas. Si tienen ese problema deberían estar mas atentos. El personal se portó muy bien y servicial sobre todo en el comedor. Otra cosa que no me gustó es que hay que caminar demasiado para llegar a los restaurantes y no te ofrecen la alternativa de transporte como otros hoteles. Por mi experiencia no regresaría a vacacionar en este hotel.

The pool was missing several tiles inside on many different areas. The rooms are very outdate and outside of the buildings was full of garbage on the ground and around the garage cans. The food wasn't that great and the restaurants were always too busy to accommodate to try other options.

We were ignored many times at the bar. Room: the room was not up to par as In appearance. It was clean, however, the outlet were broken, and some of the outlets didn’t work. The WiFi to watch TV does work and you cannot log into your own Netflix because there is no WiFi for the TV. Linens: when the staff wash the linens, they smell as if they were left overnight with the washing covered up and they put it in the dryer the next day, so it smells moldy. Food: the breakfast was ok, lunch seems ok. We never ate dinner at the resort, we went out to have dinner each night. Overall, the resort itself is nice; however, the rooms are very dated. They need to update the rooms and the outlets before they have a fire. I noticed one of the outlets in room 5112 when you plug anything in, there is a little flash. It’s beautiful resort they need to just update the rooms.

Me gusto la propiedad, los shows en especial el del mago, la limpieza de piscinas y sus alrededores, el servicio de los empleados en especial de oscar y johnny en el bar de piscina principal. Lo que no me gusto mucho fue la habitación ya que no tenia buen olor y tenia cucarachas pequeñas como si hubiera estado cerrado mucho tiempo. Antes de irnos llego un fuerte olor como a agua empozada. Pero en general me gusto.

Pro-Staff was friendly, pools were clean Cons- Food was pretty bad. Mexican restaurant and Steak restaurant was better but still not great. Beach was full of seaweed and the lounge chairs on the beach were broken and dirty. Rooms are very outdated and smell like mildew. Stay away from the casino. They are crooks.

We had to switch rooms because the first rooms AC was not working even after they came to fix it. After being in the second room for two days, we were locked out because the door key pad/entry stopped working and they had to reprogram it. On the third day, the couples that we were vacationing with was locked out of their room because their keypad/entry stopped working. The food was not that good compared to the other Riu hotels that I’ve stayed at. There are no elevators and long walks to get to your room. The place needs to be renovated. The only drinks that were good were in the sports bar. It took so long to check in. And it took even longer to get a new room. My first night there I didn’t get to sleep until midnight because I was waiting almost 2 hours to change rooms. There were no amenities on the property. Anything that you wanted to do meaning the parties, tennis, water park/slides and shopping are about 15-20 minutes walk. Our vacation went OK we made the most of it, but we will definitely not be coming back to this hotel.

Employees were very nice and greeting. Need more options on food at the buffet. Food was a little flavorless. Rooms can use a little update, mold care, and shower could have rust care.

The resort will not let certain drivers (transport) into the hotel to pick you up for excursions or even to the airport if they are not regulars that come to the resort. They make you pay for a taxi to take you to the front gate. The beds were super hard & very uncomfortable & no good TV connection. Channels blurry & maybe 3 English channels that were super blurry. Would not book at this hotel again.

Beach had lots of weed because of the timing. Not much food options and food was not that great up to our taste buds except Chillis and OLE restaurant. Make Sure bring your own shampoo and lotion, Resort only provide shower gel. If you need some quite place then building 60 is best place to stay in resort but it is long walk from the main lobby.

The property is kept very clean. Pools are awesome and clean. Glad the swim up bar is separated from other pools for those who really like to enjoy a swim and kids can enjoy the pool too. Beach was a delight loved it, great to swim and enjoyable, very pleasant to find a beach chair every time. Great job on cleaning up the sargasum everyday. What was not pleasant is the lack of attentiveness from the waiters, most were not attending the needs of the guests like serving water, bringing coffee and providing extra napkins. There were plenty of waiters but not attending the guests needs. We could have served our drinks hot or cold if the machine was working or allowed to be used by guests. Breakfast at the Colonial buffet lacked latin choices such as beans and queso fresco or Mexican food. Our room was cold at night for ventilation however we had only one sheet to cover ourselves no other blanket was provided or extra pillows to vary neck height. Only one long pillow per guest was on the bed but it became uncomfortable. Room cleaning was not thorough, empty dirty cups were not taken. Another day after room cleaning new towels were placed they smelled awful we couldn’t dry ourselves with them. Tip was left for cleaning the room. We have stayed at other RIUs without complaints this is just to share our experience. Thank you for providing bottled water everyday.

I would pick the Palace over Bambu. It's so out dated, and needs a 100 updates. Food options is terrible, and food itself is terrible. Now the drinks be hitting, but that's it. Beach is beautiful. Rooms is outdated, and smell like mold. Our whole bed had to be replaced because it had mold on mattress n box spring. Sheets had stains on them, so they replaced them. Make you get rooms in front, because there in better condition and close to everything. The walking is crazy for other rooms, and they have no elevators. Pools need updates , because their missing tiles, and had rust spots. Entertainment is terrible, but the theme parties is a cool little vibe. (Pink n Neon). None of the employees speak English, so it's hard to ask for anything. Eat at Jellyfish Restaurant and Captain Hook, their pretty good places off the resort. Plus use Ubers, because they taxing for Taxi. $80 taxi cost $12 with Uber. Very disappointed, and they have cats everywhere. Not ever again for me...

Aire no funcionaba y ducha rota

If the rooms were a little more updated, and there were more options for liquor, I would give it 5 stars. That said, the resort itself is very well kept up, the food was great, and the service was amazing. My son left his phone by a pool for about 2 hours, and no one stole it! Everyone was so kind, the dining options were great, and the water park was clean and a total blast with zero wait . This is a party resort, but we never felt unsafe and my kiddos had a blast. Plus, we never had to wait for a drink and there is liquor on tap on your room 😂 We would definitely come back.

Friendly staff, very attentive and polite.

They need more people at the front desk to check people in ..it took me over an hour to check in due to the line being so long and not enough workers at the front desk,overall i enjoyed my stay at RIU Bambu. Everyone was very nice.The food was delicious . 8/10 review …

Staff are terrible. Little to no service. The “Restaurants” are just glorified private buffets, and often the same sushi was in the main buffet. Beach is amazing, pools are great, family rooms are large and comfortable.

En el hotel todo estuvo muy bien . Facilidades excelente, el 90% del personal amables . Los Riu party se merecen un 10. Pero tuve un percance a la salida que opacó un poco mis vacaciones . Ya que en el paquete que compré por expedia incluia la transportación aeropuerto hotel/ hotel aeropuerto. La del aeropuerto al hotel excelente pero la de regreso de hotel al aeropuerto fue pésima ya que el chofer que me fue a recoger no le permitieron la entrada al hotel , cuando le pregunté a las empleadas del area del check out me dijeron que no podían llamar a seguridad para que lo dejaran pasar y la única opción que me brindaron fue que caminara con mi equipaje hacia el portón de entrada que son unos 15 minutos más el sol y el clima a las 10 de la mañana. Tuve que resolver pagando otra transportación para poder llegar al aeropuerto. En esa parte me siento disgustado con el paquete que compré. Aún asi volvería al hotel.

Your staff was not FRIENDLY. No smile. I honestly felt like they did not like black people. I even asked at the front desk. The staff in buffet did not smile or great. The bacon was half cooked, but they made sure fry good ham if that’s what it’s called for themselves while my sister stood there waiting thinking they would put in plate for guest. My overall rating is average because of the staff. They need TRAINING and learn to smile and at least say good morning. Checked out and wasn’t even asked how was my stay. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Had a problem with my door locking however the manager ana helped us and moved us to a different room! Safe was nice and helpful

Riu Bambu definitely knows how to treat its guests right! The service is good it almost feels like they’re trying to adopt you. Every staff member I met was friendly, quick, and genuinely helpful — major points there. The food? Honestly, pretty good! Plenty of tasty options with 6 restaurants for dinner. Now, the dessert table at Colonial… let’s just say it’s not exactly the star of the show. Pineapple & watermelon are not so sweet. But the night entertainment? Fun, lively, and full of energy. Perfect way to end the day — you’ll catch yourself dancing even if you swore you wouldn’t. Overall, Riu Bambu delivers a super enjoyable stay with a good service, delicious meals, and upbeat nights. Just give make it a point to serve quality fruit desserts next time and we’re golden. 😄

The bartenders were awesome but the restaurant staff were rude not attentive at all. The rooms are outdated and need painting the safe in our room didn’t work.

The property was okay, the staff wasn’t very helpful though, they didn’t help with my bags or to escort me to my room which made it hard for me to find, which I had to ask the janitor who was the only worker in sight to help me find it. Then I get to my room and the electricity wasn’t working only to find out that one of the cards they gave me was what turned everything on, which I wasn’t told by the receptionist. But the food was good, the pool was nice. Don’t forget to go to the Riu Party they throw at night time really good music/drinks/pool/Fun!!

El hotel es lindo, el servicio y los empleados buenos. Solo deberían tener en mente tener transportación del hotel al parque acuático ya que es un poco retirado.

Todo excelente solo una falla, las habitaciones son lejos deben te poner carritos que te busquen, los party también lejos, discoteca lejos. Es la Única falla. Si van ya saben q tienen q caminar bastante

The resort was nice although slightly confusing to navigate but only took a day of exploring to figure it out. The buffets were decent, nothing to brag about. The steak house was good food but the seating service is lacking. They operate on a first come first serve basis for all restaurants rather than a reservation system which requires you to line up at the entrance prior to 6:00 PM and hope you get a table. They do not skimp on the drinks and the bar service wherever we went was excellent. If you’re looking for a party resort and don’t mind subpar food, then this is the place for you.

El servicio de front desk no fue proactivo: aires dañados en las habitaciones (nos dijeron que era normal que estuvieran así porque hacía calor), facilidades muy lejos (15 minutos a pie), solo 2 piscinas con barra y en la principal permitían fumar por lo que el agua estaba sucia con colillas de cigarrillos e incluso encontramos un gusano flotando. Casi nada de animación, ni en piscinas ni en el teatro. La comida de los restaurantes no eran a la carta sino buffet y de muy mala calidad. El servicio de comida 24hrs solo era limitado y no apetecible. Si querías utilizar las pocas facilidades de entretenimiento en el sportbar (2 mesas de billar, 2 máquinas de carros y una mesa de hockey) debías pagar $3.00 dólares CADA VEZ QUE QUISIERAS JUGAR. Todos los días encontrabas la misma variedad de comida en el buffet. La atención de los meseros en el buffet principal fue excelente pero fuera de ahí, se tardaban mucho e incluso parecían molestos por tener que brindar un servicio. Realmente no regresaría ni recomendaría al Riu Bambú, pagamos demasiado para la calidad del hotel.

Everything was good, except for the food.

La comida malisima, lo mismo todos los días. Los restaurantes son buffets, solo uno es a la carta y si no vas al horario de apertura para reservar te quedas sin comer. En uno de los buffets habían moscas en la comida. Las habitaciones antiguas, les faltaba mantenimiento y pintura. El aire acondicionado sonaba muy fuerte. En definitiva no volvería a este hotel. El entretenimiento fue lo único excelente.

el lugar es agradable, las habitaciones son limpias pero muy basicas. la comida es bueno pero los restaurantes es difícil acceder a ellos porque no es con reserva y tienen una capacidad de pocas personas .el servicio en los restaurantes no es el mejor. No es el mejor hotel pero puede ser una categoría 3-4 estrellas buena. tiene buen entrenamiento nocturno pero a las 11pm se acaba todo
