Despite having had a recent refurbishment, the hotel still looks as though it could do with a complete refit. The stairwell was having work done and was very messy with no signs to advise customers to avoid using it. The electric car charging points are temperamental and there are only two of them.

This hotel has gone downhill ever since they closed the spa area. They have new staff that cannot communicate and accommodate simple requests, not forgetting how miserable they always look. No pride in representing the Marriott. Having said that the cheap facilities in the room just makes the hotel look like a glorified Travelodge, not a Marriott standard! I book here purely for the convenience, but this is well overpriced for what you get. Its nothing compared to what it was five years ago. They still charge the same price as they did when they had the spa, and now without these facilities and poor staff they still charge the same with a extortionate parking charge.

Staff friendly and helpful, location great. Quiet and super convenient for food and shopping if you don't mind a little walk. Property in good repair but rooms are a little dated. Power sockets were few and not positioned at the bedside. Also room windows on the outside were quite dirty. Breakfast good. Small simple bar was quiet in the evening, but you don't have to walk far to find a good one.

I am a regular and only stay in this hotel when in Birmingham. The service is amazing and especially Victoria is such a kind, helpful, friendly and lovely member of staff. She allowed us to check in early and was very reassuring and sorted out a fridge for our room. Rooms are extremely clean, and it’s always a pleasant experience. We do miss the pool though, but gym is a bonus. Highly recommend

Unfortunately, on a 10.30 evening arrival there was no dinner service, no in room dining service, no water in rom, and the lift was broken. I would have also hoped for housekeeping based on a two night day. Not usually one to post a review but not the best experience unfortunately :(

We stayed here as a family of 4 for one night. We had a family room with two double beds. The bedroom was a great size with a moveable wall mounted TV (very helpful with small children!) The bathroom was spacious with the best water pressure I've ever experienced in a hotel. We had breakfast in the morning which was nice. A smaller selection than we have usually had at other hotels, but good none the less. Staff were polite and helpful. The only downside was that the lift to access reception from the car park was out of order. Luckily my husband and I were able to lift our baby's buggy together, however this could cause an access issue for others. We would stay here again.

Very nice hotel. The room had everything you need, iron, hairdryer, quick and easy to connect wifi. The only minor negative was the lack of plugs. There were no usable plugs by the bed, in my room anyway. Location is fantastic. Breakfast was very good. Decent quality and selection. I was surprised that my room wasn’t made up after the first night. Was i forgotten? Do you have to request this? I don’t know, but I would expect it from a hotel of this calibre. Overall a decent hotel

Friendly and efficient staff at check in and check out, all necessary information given without having to ask, quick checkout with receipt emailed straight away, perfect. Easy parking. Lovely spacious room and spotless, I was really impressed with the cleanliness.

We booked in late due to a difficult situation with our previously booked accommodation. Check in was smooth, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless with beautiful products available. Breakfast was delicious and my gluten allergy was well accounted for. Dinner was also stunning and checkout was quick and straightforward. Thank you Delta Marriott!

Initially really happy with our choice. On arrival informed that air conditioning wasn’t working they offered us free parking to compensate (£15) We didn’t realize you couldn’t open the windows for fresh air so thought this would be ok. Struggled to sleep due to the heat, called reception and requested a fan at 11pm. They said they would bring one and never came. Really struggled to sleep due to the heat. Poor night for £200 and poor customer care overnight unfortunately

Very warm welcome and explained all our options during our stay. Excellent loby with plenty of space to sit with baggage during booking in process. Very clean from the entrance all the way through to our room which was a suite and well worth the additional few pounds on the upgrade from a standard double room. The space inside the suite was plentiful and everything worked as it should. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Only had evening meal once in our room on 1st night of stay but again very good portion size and was piping hot when brought to our room. Didn't use any of the other facilities so cant comment on those. Overall an excellent stay for the weekend for a family wedding close to this hotel and always made to feel welcome during our stay, always a good morning/evening from the staff when walking by. Highly recommend this hotel.

Over rated, expensive, poor service. Not 5 stars hotel by any standard. Heating is not working. I report that . They have done nothing apart from adding electric heater. We arrived early , the rooms were free by they want £10 per hour. I travel a lot and never hear about such charges. Never again

This hotel has gone downhill ever since they closed the spa area. They have new staff that cannot communicate and accommodate simple requests, not forgetting how miserable they always look. No pride in representing the Marriott. Having said that the cheap facilities in the room just makes the hotel look like a glorified Travelodge, not a Marriott standard! I book here purely for the convenience, but this is well overpriced for what you get. Its nothing compared to what it was five years ago. They still charge the same price as they did when they had the spa, and now without these facilities and poor staff they still charge the same with a extortionate parking charge.

I am a regular and only stay in this hotel when in Birmingham. The service is amazing and especially Victoria is such a kind, helpful, friendly and lovely member of staff. She allowed us to check in early and was very reassuring and sorted out a fridge for our room. Rooms are extremely clean, and it’s always a pleasant experience. We do miss the pool though, but gym is a bonus. Highly recommend

Friendly and efficient staff at check in and check out, all necessary information given without having to ask, quick checkout with receipt emailed straight away, perfect. Easy parking. Lovely spacious room and spotless, I was really impressed with the cleanliness.

For me, the friendliness of the Front Desk sets the tone for any visit. The gentleman on duty Tuesday night, was very proficient, helpful and extremely polite. After this the rest fell nicely in place

I’ve been staying at this hotel for years, unfortunately on this occasion the heating in the room wasn’t working and although I tried calling reception in the evening numerous times I couldn’t get through. Ended up sleeping in my hoodie and was frozen through the night and didn’t sleep very well. I did mention this to the receptionist on check out and I was given complimentary parking and offered breakfast ( which I didn’t take as wasn’t feeling great ) looking back on this experience it’s pretty bad.

We stayed here as a family of 4 for one night. We had a family room with two double beds. The bedroom was a great size with a moveable wall mounted TV (very helpful with small children!) The bathroom was spacious with the best water pressure I've ever experienced in a hotel. We had breakfast in the morning which was nice. A smaller selection than we have usually had at other hotels, but good none the less. Staff were polite and helpful. The only downside was that the lift to access reception from the car park was out of order. Luckily my husband and I were able to lift our baby's buggy together, however this could cause an access issue for others. We would stay here again.

Staff friendly and helpful, location great. Quiet and super convenient for food and shopping if you don't mind a little walk. Property in good repair but rooms are a little dated. Power sockets were few and not positioned at the bedside. Also room windows on the outside were quite dirty. Breakfast good. Small simple bar was quiet in the evening, but you don't have to walk far to find a good one.

The hotel was fantastic and so clean. All the staff were so helpful and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a good stay. The evening meal and breakfast was very good. We would definitely recommend and hope to stay again soon. Thank you.

Unfortunately, on a 10.30 evening arrival there was no dinner service, no in room dining service, no water in rom, and the lift was broken. I would have also hoped for housekeeping based on a two night day. Not usually one to post a review but not the best experience unfortunately :(

The hotel itself is good. Bedroom is alright. For the amount of money I paid, I say it's not worth it. Considering that breakfast is not included and had to pay extra.

We booked in late due to a difficult situation with our previously booked accommodation. Check in was smooth, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless with beautiful products available. Breakfast was delicious and my gluten allergy was well accounted for. Dinner was also stunning and checkout was quick and straightforward. Thank you Delta Marriott!

great service and very polite on arrival, the only thing there would be was the breakfast was a little dry and empty in which we had to keep asking to be topped up, but apart from that it was a great hotel!

Very warm welcome and explained all our options during our stay. Excellent loby with plenty of space to sit with baggage during booking in process. Very clean from the entrance all the way through to our room which was a suite and well worth the additional few pounds on the upgrade from a standard double room. The space inside the suite was plentiful and everything worked as it should. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Only had evening meal once in our room on 1st night of stay but again very good portion size and was piping hot when brought to our room. Didn't use any of the other facilities so cant comment on those. Overall an excellent stay for the weekend for a family wedding close to this hotel and always made to feel welcome during our stay, always a good morning/evening from the staff when walking by. Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful modernised Georgian building, marble floored and wooden revolving doors to reception, well mainted and beautifully appointed as you would expect. Helpful staff and plenty of easy access car parking for a centralised Birmingham hotel. Location is the key, 20 minutes walk takes you directly to the centre and the Bull Ring with high street shopping, positioned just outside to the left is the local tramstop (Edgbaston Village) and to the right a rail connection (Five Ways, Midland Rail), whilst driving brings you directly A4540 inner ringroad. Edgbaston cricket stadium is a good walk but still only circa 30 minutes away, whilst a plethera of resturants, bars and pubs are 5 to 10 minutes walk down Broad Street. Pleasant large double room with all the mod cons, clean airy bathroom with both bath and shower.

On arrival, we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who checked us in and helped with parking. All staff were incredibly friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, Our room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable.
