I'm in a wheelchair so requested an accessible room. One of the best/most accessible rooms i've stayed in. There is a big wide ramp out front with plenty of disabled parking. Room was large and open for maneuvering and bathroom had a sink, shower and toilet setup that was well thought out and simply just worked. I even used the pool which had a lift for disabled folks to get in/out. Had a great stay and a great time. Lovely friendly people and very helpful. My wife even pulled the bathroom emergency response by accident (looking for the bathroom light switch in the dark) and there were 2 staff members at my room inside 2 minutes to check on me. They weren't even annoyed, just happy nothing was wrong. They even had me fill out a form at check-in to address the plan in case of emergency/fire procedures when elevators would be shutdown. We agreed a plan and i got a say and signed it. I was very impressed with the whole setup. Would definitely stay again in the future. Starbucks in the lobby was a plus :-)

I was charged £5 each for my son and I to use the pool facilities. Thought this was disappointing as I've stayed a few times and was under the assumption this would be included within the price.

Free car parking on weekends, bus into Cardiff every 15 mins from outside hotel great service from the staff we didn't use leasure facilities but looked very good ,download village app and get a free drink, i would recommend this hotel

Turned up to the room, rubbish in the bin, bed looks like someone has been lying in it, the spoons in the cup was dirty, the tissue box in the toilet was empty, in the evening went for a shower, watch was cold. Not a happy person

The hotel is ok. Not luxurious by any means. The pool is nice but the family changing is way too small and quite dirty. The room was ok, carpet was filthy and loads of visible dust on the skirtings. They have everything by QR code which didn’t work from me so had to order room service from the bar! It’s fine, but don’t have too high expectations!

The hotel staff were lovely and couldn’t be nicer. However the room was dated and the paint was peeling off the walls and I was packing my stuff I ended up finding another persons pants just under the bed!!

We booked to stay for the Billy Joel concert. Village Hotel was the only hotel available nearby and it cost over £600 for two nights with breakfast and gym/pool access. The pictures on Hotel.com showed a modern updated room and a beautiful looking gym/pool/spa so even though it was very expensive it felt like it would be luxurious. On arrival at the hotel it wasn’t quite as impressive, parking was good but unclear about cost from signs. Reception was clean and modern and the receptionist was lovely and friendly (almost all of the staff were during our stay). We went to the room and that’s where the shine went from our expectations. The carpet had burn marks, all the paint was scratched off on the cupboard, the edging in the bathroom was peeled off and the shower had a lot of mould in it, the remote control didn’t work and tea and coffee were bog standard sachets you get in a Travelodge. Not £300 a night level at all. Breakfast was poor it was too crowded in a tiny cupboard type area. We went to the pool for a spa and sauna after breakfast and they were nice but it was packed full of families who live locally so not the peaceful spa effect we’d thought from the pictures and there was barely any room in the steam room or sauna. Overall I felt it was a budget hotel on a posh hotel price. If it wasn’t for the lovely staff that we met here I’d have rated it lower.

The Room was scruffy the carpet needs replacing and the shower was just warm. Very noisy we were placed right above the entrance so there's no thought of the age of clientele and where to room them.

I liked the staff and the pool and even the room. It was just so, soooo loud. I could hear every word of every song they played at the event they had on downstairs until 1am and then I heard guests tumbling down the corridor and I heard them outside in the carpark and I really don't think it's sound proofed. You can't charge £100 a night if your not sound proofed.

great hotel which is nice and modern and clean with very friendly staff. However why do rooms not have air Con? There is a fan but this just moves warm air around and windows can only open a little bit and so bad nights sleep as so uncomfortable.

A Village hotel is a Village hotel. But I find it staggering that in 2024 when they're looking to be mentioned in the same bracket as Marriott & Hilton - there is still no climate control in the rooms (too warm, open the window - too cold, put the radiator on) and you don't get a fridge to store things. Bed was really comfy and the staff were great, but can't get past the first couple of things.

The club room was colourful, clean, spacious with a powerful shower, comfortable bed and enough to get around. Seemed a pretty quiet hotel but we stayed on a Sunday evening. No fan or air conditioning in room but we stayed cool. The pool/spa and gym were fantastic with us being able to get a locker for free. Membership of these facilities on the high side but we got free use with our club room. We decided against the pub/grill as prices were unbelievably high however hotel allowed us to order in food and supplied plates/cutlery so friendly/helpful staff. Starbucks was also very pricing but expected. The morning of check in lead to cleaner walking in on us at 9:30am when check out was 11am, she was prompted asked to leave. We then were interrupted further by another visit just as we were exiting the room to change over the menus in the room? We left the hotel without being able to interact with any staff as there was a box to put card in. One other issue is parking as I believed it was £5 for our stay however I got told it was free on arrival hence why I couldn’t pay on the machine so hoping I won’t get an unwelcome fine as saw the machine was working upon exiting today.

The staff were so friendly and helpful on arrival. They helped with check in and were knowledgeable! They had also gone the extra mile for my daughter who was celebrating a birthday; adding a not, balloons, and gift. Honestly it was such a lovely surprise!

Amazing stay. We came for the first oasis gig. Havent been to wales for many years and I can honestly say the staff here especially the staff at reception made this stay incredible . Rapid check in . Just brilliant . Thanks for looking after us

The service is questionable. Ordered food and drink room service, only the food arrived. Tried calling reception repeatedly to chase up missing drink and no one answered. No glasses in the bathroom to get a glass of water to accompany my meal so used a tea cup! They then charged me for extra meals on my bill which I didn't have (and the missing drink) and they could not explain the overcharge. Reception was badly manned the next morning and had three failed attempts of getting back into my room after breakfast (each time haing to wait for someone to appear in reception to help me and it was 8.45am a busy time for check-out you'd expect) for them to finally realise the electronic key system in my door battery had failed - leaving me 15 mins late for a meeting as I couldn't retrieve my luggage. Very average stay with less than average service. Assumed it would be nicer than a Premier Inn but if you only want a room and no gym etc then I'd recommend the latter.

Bed was way too firm, pillows were like rocks. Tried to book an extra night onnthe phone as work had over run, was told this was not possible and to book online. I rang back as online booking i couldnt book with free cancellation. They eventually booked me in, but said i should talk to the team when i returned to the hotel. 20mins of talking to the front desk and they couldnt find my booking and then told me to calm down. I go to work and get a missed call from the hotel i call it it goes to the switch board who have no idea, they were nice and said theyd contact the hotel. I get to the hotel fir the extra night, my room was still mine, but theyd just thrown away my shower gel and hadnt reset it like the day before.

We truly really enjoyed our stay. Staff was really helpful, especially lady at the reception. We need more people like her. Room was clean and spacious. Location is good, not too far from the city centre. I would highly recommend this hotel in Cardiff

We tried to use the app to order room service and waited an hour and when it still didn’t arrive we were then told that the app didn’t work. Pretty annoyed that we weren’t told on check in. Also no hot water for the shower in the morning.

Easy check-in, friendly staff. Had salmon that wasn’t cooked through - was dealt with appropriately and cost refunded. Pool and spa area was lovely but a little busy.

The Club rooms are decent with great beds but problem with this hotel is the quality and choice of food being mainly themed around an American fast food dinner. The only thing I fancied was the Rack of Ribs but they didn't have any and I was told they hadn't for ages by the waiter so i chose the Mixed Grill but honestly after waiting 45 mins (not so fast) it was hardly edible the meat was tuff and dried out. I mentioned this to the server and all I got was a quick I'm sorry before he hurried away quickly. On check out they said they would email me the invoice which didn't arrive. I had to ring the hotel to ask for a copy which I’m still waiting on.

The club room was colourful, clean, spacious with a powerful shower, comfortable bed and enough to get around. Seemed a pretty quiet hotel but we stayed on a Sunday evening. No fan or air conditioning in room but we stayed cool. The pool/spa and gym were fantastic with us being able to get a locker for free. Membership of these facilities on the high side but we got free use with our club room. We decided against the pub/grill as prices were unbelievably high however hotel allowed us to order in food and supplied plates/cutlery so friendly/helpful staff. Starbucks was also very pricing but expected. The morning of check in lead to cleaner walking in on us at 9:30am when check out was 11am, she was prompted asked to leave. We then were interrupted further by another visit just as we were exiting the room to change over the menus in the room? We left the hotel without being able to interact with any staff as there was a box to put card in. One other issue is parking as I believed it was £5 for our stay however I got told it was free on arrival hence why I couldn’t pay on the machine so hoping I won’t get an unwelcome fine as saw the machine was working upon exiting today.

Took a while to get served at the bar. Breakfast was terrible. Requested vegetarian sausage took over 20 mins to arrive during which time informed couldn’t find chef! Another member of group ordered fried egg again delay of over 10 mins. Scrambled eggs solid , fruit juices appalling how to ask for juice from behind bar. The only saving light at breakfast was the waitressing staff who were brilliant.

We booked to stay for the Billy Joel concert. Village Hotel was the only hotel available nearby and it cost over £600 for two nights with breakfast and gym/pool access. The pictures on Hotel.com showed a modern updated room and a beautiful looking gym/pool/spa so even though it was very expensive it felt like it would be luxurious. On arrival at the hotel it wasn’t quite as impressive, parking was good but unclear about cost from signs. Reception was clean and modern and the receptionist was lovely and friendly (almost all of the staff were during our stay). We went to the room and that’s where the shine went from our expectations. The carpet had burn marks, all the paint was scratched off on the cupboard, the edging in the bathroom was peeled off and the shower had a lot of mould in it, the remote control didn’t work and tea and coffee were bog standard sachets you get in a Travelodge. Not £300 a night level at all. Breakfast was poor it was too crowded in a tiny cupboard type area. We went to the pool for a spa and sauna after breakfast and they were nice but it was packed full of families who live locally so not the peaceful spa effect we’d thought from the pictures and there was barely any room in the steam room or sauna. Overall I felt it was a budget hotel on a posh hotel price. If it wasn’t for the lovely staff that we met here I’d have rated it lower.

Staff were very good , breakfast was very good , only concerns were , coffee machine in room did not work but we also had a kettle so not totally unhappy , our room key failed to work on one occasion which was a bit of an inconvenience , both larger options at the function room bar needed to be pulled through prior to the start of the event not after I received two poor pints , other than that the event was great the function room and buffet were very good and I slept fine .
