Very nice and comfortable room. Good gym and sauna. Parking good. Location good. Good breakfast. Only drawback is the design of the hotel. If guests are drinking late in the bar, the noise can be heard in all the rooms!

Mitten in der Stadt, aber trotzdem ruhig. Man kann von hier aus gut die Jenaer Innenstadt erkunden. Schade nur, dass Sonntags Restaurant und Bar geschlossen sind.

The hotel is renovating its interior, carpets are covered, some areas are cordoned off. Still, a very good hotel, perfectly located in the middle of Jena.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Das Hotel liegt im Zentrum alles ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar, direkt hinter dem Hotel ist ein großes Einkaufszentrum, alles in allem ist das Hotel sehr zu empfehlen, nur das Parken ist sehr teuer, Parkgarage ist über einen Aufzug erreichbar

Frühstück war gut, Zimmerreinigung während des Aufenthalts wurde trotz Zusage vergessen, Balkon war schmutzig, Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen, liegt aber sehr zentral. In Jena gibt es in dieser Kategorie leider nicht viele Alternativen. Ich würde es eher nicht empfehlen und werde das nächste Mal ein anderes Haus ausprobieren.

I was disappointed that this hotel lists in its amenities that it is air conditioned. It is not. I will say that the staff was accommodating. When we checked in, we were given a room in a very odd location of the hotel—you must take one lift to get to the second lobby, from there you take a second lift to get to floors 4 and above. We were given a room on fourth floor, we had difficulty finding our room—we had to go through a service door to a small lower entrance that appeared in between floors three and four in a very dark and depressing hallway. The hotel staff did allow us to change rooms. When I asked about how the A/C works in the room, the staff did admit that it wasn’t A/C exactly and attempted to describe what it was exactly. It just air circulation vents that circulate air into the rooms from interior, non-air conditioned common space. Olathe room was clean and comfortable—however having to take the elevators each day I noticed how the outside and inside stainless steel doors and interior walls were filthy! After two full days of seeing the same filth (one of the lifts had something spilled all over), I uncomfortably mentioned it to the hotel staff as nicely as I could, indicating that I’d want to know if I were the manager of the property. The person I spoke with to thanked me and said yes, not acceptable, and immediately called housekeeping. THE ELEVATORS (outside/inside/buttons) WERE NEVER TOUCHED ALL FOUR DAYS WE WERE THERE. Bad war nicht ganz sauber (Haare im Waschbecken) und das Waschbecken lief nicht richtig ab.

Personal an der Rezeption sehr zuvorkommend, Zimmer sauber und Frühstücksbüffet super 👍

Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Die Aussicht wunderbar. Der Empfang war so kühl wie das Zimmer. Zum Schlafen war die Zimmertemperatur ok, für den Aufenthalt für unsere Begriffe zu kühl. Die Klimaanlage stand auf Maximum. Am Morgen gab es kein warmes Wasser. Also nur etwas für Kaltduscher.

Reinigung hätte besser sein können. Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Frühstück war reichlich und für jeden war etwas da, man konnte auch Spiegelei oder Kakao bestellen und hat es bekommen. Wir würden dieses Hotel jederzeit weiter empfehlen 👍

Sehr schönes Hotel. Wir hatten eine Junior Suit und waren absolut zufrieden. Nettes Personal und alles sehr sauber. Einen Minuspunkt würde ich vergeben. Das wäre die Parkgebühr pro Nacht 20 Euro finde ich recht teuer. Wir haben schon oft in Hotel Parkgaragen geparkt aber 20 Euro hatten wir noch nirgendwo. Trotzdem ist dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.

Sehr guter Service im Frühstücks, aufmerksames Personal, das Frühstück war sehr groß,vielfältig und sehr, sehr lecker, die Zimmer waren groß, alles gepflegt und sauber, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder

Everything was good and the only thing that wad annoyed is that the Air condition didn't work from 22 to 7 It was pretty hot in my room and the staff didn't tell me that this is the routine

The bed is very uncomfortable

The first few days I was there my room was too hot in the night. When I talked to the people on the front desk I was told that the air conditioning was turned off at night! That’s madness. Booked here centre of town great location , great service however someone has decided to put what I can only describe as plastic mattress toppers on , 1 they weren’t comfortable 2 you moved around and the sheet slipped off they were awful ! I usually spend 3 nights a week in hotels this system ranks along side the worst & most uncomfortable I’ve encountered Whicker everything down - service excellent staff great room good , bed awful

The hotel is clean and pleasant, but the staff could be more friendly, especially during check-out. The breakfast was rather modest for a 4-star hotel.

Magnificent hotel with great amenities. Easy to access central part of town. Staff was very helpful and helped us navigate this beautiful town.

They had anything you could want for breakfast and if it wasn't on the buffet the staff would get it. We've been going here for years, and the staff is always the same which speaks for the hotel. Will definitely continue coming to Dorint Esplanade.

This used to be Steigenberger Esplanade and they were top notch in all areas which is why I booked my stay here again for the umpteenth time. We stayed for 2 nights in a beautiful suite overlooking the city center of Jena on the 7th floor. The restaurant staff, which was still Steigenberger staff, is amazing, attentive, polite, and kind. However, the new staff needs training on customer service.The first night we were there the hotel had a fire drill (necessary i get it.) However, there was not one Dorint employee anywhere to tell us where to go. I was there with my mom who is 86 who just had hip replacement surgery. In the amount of time that it took my mom and i to descend the seven flights of stairs, trying to find our way out if there had been a real fire, we would never had made it out. Still no Dorint employee in sight! I must mention that there was a whole family that joined us on our journey to find the escape route so it wasn't just my mom and I that were having these issues. When we finally saw a Dorint employee, he told us we needed to climb all the stairs back up to the seventh floor although the elevators were functioning again! (We took the elevator.) The next morning we had to get up in time for the breakfast buffet. There was no apology for the terrible nights rest. The room was never cleaned although we requested it be cleaned. When we talked to the front desk about this he couldn't have cared less. Nothing was done by Dorint except collect payment.

We got a downgrade from Junior Suite to normal room without notice and were expected to pay full price for suite. After complaining we were offered a refund of 35 Euros, even though the difference was 70.

Perfect base for a stay in Jena. Excellent location and facilities. Staff welcoming and ultra efficient.

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat leider im Vergleich zu Steigenberger Zeiten abgenommen. Für Jena wirklich sehr sportliche Preise, die Ausstattung hat teilweise zu wünschen übrig gelassen: Am Kopfteil des Bettes hat sich der Kunstlederbezug aufgelöst, sodass das Bett täglich mit „Krümeln“ dessen belegt war. Telefon auf dem Zimmer hat leider nicht funktioniert. Die Lüftung im Zimmer ließ sich nicht regulieren, was wegen der Lautstärke etwas störend war. Das Personal war dafür bis auf wenige Ausnahmen sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend :) auch die Lage des Hotels ist super zentral! Das Frühstück war hervorragend, ggf. könnte man den zeitlichen Rahmen etwas anpassen, bis 10 Uhr ist an Feiertagen und Wochenende doch ein bisschen früh.

Genuinely exceeded my expectations. The architecture is open and airy, which gives a sense of being outside, the deco is minimalist and room spacious, clean and with quality toiletries. The food both for breakfast and dinner was excellent and made of wholesome ingredients however the real strength of the hotel in my view is their staff who seemed to understand my needs and nothing was ever too much. Especially the lady in the moonlight bar who is so welcoming and when you are a solo traveller on a business trip that can make the whole difference.! thank you Dorint

Wir waren als zwei Paare und Hund dort. Unser (Hunde-)Zimmer hatte schon zwei Näpfe, Snack und Liegematte für den Kleinen. Auch uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Zum Frühstück wurden wir im Atrium / Barbereich platziert. Perfekt! Große Auswahl, alles lecker und frisch, supernettes Personal wohin man auch schaute.
