The staff on front desk could not have been more helpful. They looked after us very well. After submitting an internal review of the check in procedure, we said that the room was not what we expected in a four star hotel. So, they kindly agreed to move us to a larger room. We declined as we were only there for one more night. The biggest problem we faced with limited mobility was that the parking was difficult to access as it involved stairs and it was not permitted for a taxi or our car to get to the front door of the hotel. The situation of the hotel is wonderful being so close to the Plaza Mayor. We are surprised that the hotel is ranked as being four stars.

This hotel has an ideal location right in the middle of restaurants and shops. Make sure to have your taxi drop you at the right street because you have a bit of a walk if you have a lot of luggage since it's situated in a pedestrian-only area. The room was clean. The bathroom was fairly clean as well. However, the room was extremely hot even with the windows wide open. The front desk promptly sent up a fan and explained that we needed to turn off the cooling unit since the entire building was set to heat only. It helped a bit. The included breakfast was lovely and the front desk staff as well as the restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay here! It was perfectly situated and we walked everywhere from here. The staff was nice-we were able to store luggage. The breakfast was incredible- so much to choose from and excellent quality. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was impeccably clean. This is touted to be the oldest hotel in Spain. Not much of the old is left to match the title. But the updates are starting to look very old and need maintenance. Two mornings both of the coffee machines were broken and we could not have coffee with breakfast. There was an ice machine in the main lobby but the ice made evything taste terrible and was not usable. Has to buy ice from the market a couple blocks away every day. The air conditioner in our room would not work. The location was quite convenient.

The property was 2 mins walk from Plaza Mayor with all the restaurants and history, and the location allowed easy walkable access to historic Madrid. A short walk down a street took you to a taxi rank so easy for airport run. Breakfast reasonabke price and good selection.

Nice hotel. Close to Metro area and many historical places. Plan to come back to stay here. Wonderful staff: James, Jon, Myriam, Jorge, Mari. Excellent breakfast choices. My only suggestion is for the hotel to invest in a bigger ice maker. Not a complaint, just a suggestion. We are definitely coming back.

Great 400 year old historic hotel (with Madrid Gold plate outside the door) in the heart of Madrid. There are hundreds of shopping and dining options just within 10 minutes radius. Great location if you like to stay near bustling area of Madrid. The property is old but well maintained. The breakfast is really amazing with a lot of options. Rooms are good size.

The staff was welcoming and very accommodating. A special shout out to Mari in charge of breakfast buffet. The location of hotel is perfect especially for first time visitors, except for EXTREMELY noisy. The hotel common areas are very neglected. Ripped “leather” couches in lobby, damaged and dirty baseboards, ripped carpets in hallways, scuff marks and damage on walls. Room shower had embedded mold in caulking. Some areas had grime that I was able to remove with a disposable toothbrush. I did this to verify if grime was embedded like in caulking. It wasn’t. Will not stay here again.

De locatie van de accommodatie is perfect; pal naast Plaza Mayor. Veel eetgelegenheden, vooral tapas, en dichtbij Marcado San Miguel en Koninklijk Paleis. Het hotel zelf vonden we matig. We hadden een kamer voor 4, met 2 eenpersoonsbedden en een stapelbed voor kinderen. Badkamer is aan renovatie toe. Als je doorspoelt, duurt het eeuwig dat de reservoir vol raakt met water. Toiletbril was smerig, viel uit elkaar. Inloopdouche had geen deur dus elke keer als we gingen douchen, werd de badkamer erg nat. Ventielatie deed het niet, dus veel condens waardoor alles nat werd. De kamer zelf is helaas niet groot genoeg, naar onze mening, voor vier personen. Er is wel een TV maar weinig keuze aan zenders: alleen Spaanstalig TV. Er zijn twee kasten (veel te veel voor een kleine kamer) die te veel ruimte in beslag namen in de kleine kamer. Bedden waren niet erg comfortabel maar we hebben het wel slechter gehad. Er hing bij de lobby en de trappenhuis een vreemde / onaangename "zeep" lucht. Het leek op hammam lucht, erg vreemd. Al met al een middelmatig hotel die eigenlijk geen vier sterren waard is.

Quarto limpo, cama bem confortável, funcionários atenciosos, café da manhã maravilhoso. Após o check-out, pude deixar minhas malas guardadas enquanto passeava por Madrid. Banheiro moderno, com chuveiro muito bom. Infelizmente, o banheiro não tinha aquecimento, mas o vapor quente o deixava levemente aquecido. Ótima localização, bem próximo a Plaza Mayor.
Quarto limpo, cama bem confortável, funcionários atenciosos, café da manhã maravilhoso. Após o check-out, pude deixar minhas malas guardadas enquanto passeava por Madrid. Property was centrally located within walking distance of all major attractions. Staff was friendly. Place was very clean and breakfast was good. Could use a few extra items such as pancakes. Room had a small balcony which we opened for fresh air and sounds of the city. Beds were very comfortable. Tons of bars and restaurants conveniently right outside your door Yet if you closed the window it was quiet. We had room 408 at the end of the hallway so no other people ever walked by. Hotel is a few hundred years old but had modern amenities like a shower with three different heads and flat screen tv. Overall it was an excellent stay and I would recommend this place to friends and family alike.

Only negative is that the room was configured a bit awkwardly—a very large bathroom created by glass partitioning made for tight quarters elsewhere. But as problems go, that is about a 2 on a scale of 10. This is a beautiful, historic building (as you will learn), right by the Plaza Mayor. Highly recommended

We stayed at the Petit Palace Posada for 4 nights. The staff was wonderful and the room was very clean and comfortable. However, it is located in a very busy area - which makes it fun and convenient for touring Madrid but extremely noisy. Our room, #117 had a cafe with outdoor seating located directly outside the window. Between that and the other traffic it was unbelievably loud - especially on the weekend. If not for that we would definitely recommend staying here.

This hotel is a historic 17th century hotel that is well kept with amazing staff and service. Breakfast is delicious and is included. If there is a ding, it’s just that in our room (it could be different with the other rooms) the wall between the bathroom and master bed is made of frosted glass. The downside is if any of my kids need to use the toilet, the lights in the bathroom filters into the masterbedroom.

Beautiful boutique hotel located within a few walking minutes to Plaza Mayor and other landmarks. The staff was great! Joel and Oxsana were very helpful and very accommodating. The breakfast buffet had a variety of options and plenty of seating for the guests. If you’re visiting Madrid in the near future I highly recommend you stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights, loved it. Very clean and quiet. The breakfast that was included was excellent. Situated in the middle of shopping and lots of events to go see, all in walking distance. At the front desk, Jon was especially helpful and easy to talk to, so were most of the front desk staff.

Great 400 year old historic hotel (with Madrid Gold plate outside the door) in the heart of Madrid. There are hundreds of shopping and dining options just within 10 minutes radius. Great location if you like to stay near bustling area of Madrid. The property is old but well maintained. The breakfast is really amazing with a lot of options. Rooms are good size.

We enjoyed our stay here! It was perfectly situated and we walked everywhere from here. The staff was nice-we were able to store luggage. The breakfast was incredible- so much to choose from and excellent quality. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was impeccably clean. The reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 were- *The walls are paper thin. I could hear babies crying all night long. *The room is tiny and the window looked out into a dingy space-didn’t bother us that much as we were gone most of the time, but I want to mention. *It’s a little outdated. I loved it, but it’s definitely a solid 4 stars. It worked perfectly for our family and I would recommend it and stay there again.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Petit Palace Posada del Peine. It is conveniently located near Plaza Mayor, Mercado De San Miguel, and Sol. We got the unlimited transport cards, but didn't really need them because we were able to walk almost everywhere that we wanted to go.

The location was fantastic. I was able to walk to most of the touristic attractions easy walk to catch a taxi or get into subway and it was so close to many restaurants. The room was for modern clean comfortable. The breakfast options were excellent.

This is touted to be the oldest hotel in Spain. Not much of the old is left to match the title. But the updates are starting to look very old and need maintenance. Two mornings both of the coffee machines were broken and we could not have coffee with breakfast. There was an ice machine in the main lobby but the ice made evything taste terrible and was not usable. Has to buy ice from the market a couple blocks away every day. The air conditioner in our room would not work. The location was quite convenient.

Breakfast was very nice. Lots of local dishes along with fresh fruit, juices, sweet rolls, meats, yogurt, a wonderful tortilla espanola, self serve coffee machine with tons of options. Staff was excellent.

Room was so sad. No furnitures beyond a bed and dining table in a very big room. No decoration, absolutely nothing. Location is great but price is not matching the room by far. Breakfast was low quality in a room overcrowded! The staff was doing its best and is clearly not enough to cope with the number of persons. From the moment I entered this establishment, I felt like family. Everyone was nice accommodating, helpful. We arrived at 7am from an overnight flight expecting to drop our luggage and spend time exploring Madrid until the afternoon and checkin. No, they checked us in immediately and we were in our room by 715am! We spent a full week at this hotel and every interaction with the staff was top notch. The breakfast every morning was well done with an excellent variety of food available. The location in the center of Madrid was fantastic. The ability to walk everywhere was great. Strongly recommend staying here.
