We stayed overnight to visit a concert in Northcote, and chose St. George’s motor inn as it was close to public transport/walking distance. Great that there was onsite parking. The room was clean and functioning with fridge but for additional amenities like microwave, plates snd cutlery. you needed to call the front desk. Bathroom looked like recently updated. Our bathroom door looked like recently repaired but awaiting paint. We had twin room in winter, the double bed had electric blanket which unfortunately we didn’t discover till the morning, the single did not. There were no blankets on the beds, just sheets and bed cover. There was 1 blanket in the cupboard not as if we could share. They probably expected us to run the ac to heat the room. We were only used to ac to cool and therefore we found ourselves cold overnight with not enough covers. I ended up stealing the cover from the other single to get enough insulation. If we were staying more than one night we would have sorted it out as they seemed very nice at front desk, but it was late when we returned from the concert and we just rolled with it.

Very fair price for the location and parking. Heating quite difficult to control (perhaps an instruction card?) Tram stop at the doorstep. A little dated, but comfortable overall. We will use again.

Good place to stay, rooms and facilities are very nice and the staff were excellent. Parking was easy and free. Not alot immediately around the motel in terms of eating and drinking but that's not the motel's fault.

The accommodation had everything we needed. The spa room was good as the bathroom had been renovated. Good location if you want access to High St Northcote. The accommodation is very dated, very 1980's.

Det beste med dette stedet er resepsjonisten. Han var så behjelpelig og hyggelig med alt. Vår familie hadde jetlag og forsov oss da vi skulle sjekke ut. Han var så forståelsesfull og sendte med barna litt sjokolade i bilen på vei derfra. Han hjalp til med råd om alt og de hadde veldig god frokost. Ellers helt greit motell- men servicen er altså over snittet her!

This was great as a base for activities in Melbourne and not to far from the airport. It was clean with a great shower. The trams are very close and quite noisy- deep sleepers had no problems sleeping.

The only issue was it is on a main road that is very busy at times, but there is enough traffic lights that there are gaps in the traffic, you just have to be patient

First time staying here. Used as a base for a gig literally 10min walk away. Clean and quiet property. Friendly staff. Easy to find. Team out the front. Great base for exploring Thornbury

Absolutely love it here. Traditional old school place with proper service - safety pins included! None of the impersonal conveyor belt feeling in modern hotels. Wonderful old style dining area, 2 little outdoor seating areas and rooms with everything you’d need, even electric blankets!
