One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The service is excellent, and the fifth-floor room we stayed in, with its sea view, is wonderful. Plus, the hotel has a private beach just 100 meters away, which is amazing.

Great property very elegant and budget friendly for the for the actual property. However, the food prices are outrageous downtown. Even higher at the hotel. Go to fish fry if you in the downtown area much more reasonable prices for authentic dishes.

We enjoyed the beautiful setting and the history and character of the hotel. The beach is lovely, and the protected swimming area with a net between the beach and the open sea was appreciated. Our room was clean and well maintained. The housekeeping staff were especially friendly and attentive, always making sure we had fresh towels and water on daily basis. Our experience at the hotel restaurant was more mixed. The sushi was good, but the half chicken consisted mainly of small bone pieces in a very spicy sauce. The spice itself was not a problem, but it would have been helpful if the waitress had explained the dish (not much protein for one person) and suggested ordering a side with it. The service in handling the situation could also have been better. The cocktails were very good when prepared at the main bar, but unfortunately the same quality was not maintained at the pool/beach area. Pricing was also surprisingly high in some areas. For example, a 750 ml bottle of water in the lobby’s café was USD 17 before additional charges. Overall, this is a beautiful and historic hotel with a lot of character and potential. However, there are several areas where consistency in food, drinks, service and overall value could be improved to better match the price level and the standard the hotel aims to provide.
