Amari Koh Samui

It s hard to believe what happened . We booked out room on Expedia at 3 pm we arrive at 4 pm the room isn’t ready in inter season . I m with a 65 year old person . They tell us to wait until 5 pm !? No upgrade , just a small plat of fruit with 2 mandarines , grapes hard as nuts, and a slice of watermelon . The room «  garden wing «  is so far away from reception that you need a golf car to get to it . We were given the room furthest away on the 3 rd floor with no lift . Some of the staff was pleasant and helpful but the receptionist on arrival did not want to hear nothing and kept blaming us . They send you a taxi for the airport 5 min away that costs the same money as going thru the whole of Bangkok ! If you want to charge your phone in your room don’t forget to come with an extension lead ! As there is no plugs on the bedside , not very practical when you have apnea and need to plug your sleeping device . Beach was awful and dirty , they don’t clean it . Full of plastic and algues . The breakfast is well worth it tho !

We stayed at Amari Koh Samui expecting a four-star hotel experience, but unfortunately it did not feel like that at all. The hotel shows clear signs of age. Many areas feel worn, and there was a noticeable musty smell in several places. We were also unlucky with a leak in the bathroom, which caused a strong urine smell. Because of this, we had to change rooms late in the evening while our baby was sleeping, which was quite stressful. Thankfully, we were upgraded for the last two nights of our stay. There were also a lot of mosquitoes around the property. The breakfast buffet had a large selection, but the quality did not live up to expectations. Before staying here we had been at Hyatt Koh Samui, so the contrast between the two hotels felt quite significant. The staff were generally friendly, although some seemed uninterested or not very attentive. The location is good if you want to stay close to where things are happening, but overall this is not a hotel we would book again or recommend.

The room is very cheap and totally not worth the price.

Really enjoyed my stay thanks to the whole staff
