One of the very best hotels in Germany - truly historic location, five-star service, excellent dining. The great reception team made us feel at home from the start and treated us to an upgrade from the junior suite we'd booked to the Gropius Suite, a beautifully designed spacious suite in homage to the German-American founder of the Bauhaus school of architecture. We marveled at the attention to detail in the decor on the walls, the floor, the furniture. We treated ourselves to a gourmet dinner in the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed teatime the next day in the glorious Lichtsaal lobby with enough art on the walls to satisfy any culture vulture. We're looking forward to our next stay, Weimar has so much to see and this hotel is the place to be.

In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass man ein Hotel i.e.L. zum Schlafen aufsucht, ein nennenswertes Problem. Das geht in der Liga deutlich besser.

Bei der Buchung der Classic-Kategorie kann das Zimmer (z.B. Zimmer Nr. 200) so klein sein, dass das Bett nur von einer Seite erreichbar ist. Das ist in dieser von uns gewählten Kategorie normal, haben wir auf Nachfrage erfahren. Als Einzelzimmer sicherlich gut, als Doppelzimmer jedoch eine Zumutung! Darüber hinaus ist der ELEPHANT ein rundum hervorragendes Haus, in dem man sich sehr wohl fühlen kann.

Die etwas sehr magere Ausstattung im Zimmer, z. B. gibt es Bademäntel aber keine Pantoffeln. Und das ist insofern unpraktisch, da das Bad und die Toilette gefliest ist. In der separaten Toilette fehlen die Handtuchhalter, so dass man improvisieren muss, wo man die Handtücher unterbringen kann.Die Minibar geht nur auf Vorleistung und man muss das komplette antialkoholische Getränkeangebot kaufen, obwohl man vielleicht nur Mineralwasser möchte.

The real stand-out was the breakfast. It had absolutely everything, including champagne. The staff were generally friendly, although we did overhear a conversation where one member of staff was the opposite of friendly. Otherwise, staff were just wonderful. Our room was roomy ... the bed was a dream. Haven't slept so well for years. It is expensive, but the breakfast was worth every cent!

In vergleichbaren Hotels fühlt man sich gerne übermäßig künstlich hofiert. Hier waren, vor allem im Restaurant, alle Mitarbeiter ehrlich sympathisch. Haben das Abendessen sehr genossen und kommen gerne irgendwann wieder.

We stayed for three nights - Weimar itself was an amazing town to visit (we hadn’t expected this!) and the staff and facilities of the Hotel Elephant Weimar were exceptional. From the moment we checked in, to dinner, the clean up, to checking out - all the staff doing all the jobs were super friendly. I’d recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

One of the very best hotels in Germany - truly historic location, five-star service, excellent dining. The great reception team made us feel at home from the start and treated us to an upgrade from the junior suite we'd booked to the Gropius Suite, a beautifully designed spacious suite in homage to the German-American founder of the Bauhaus school of architecture. We marveled at the attention to detail in the decor on the walls, the floor, the furniture. We treated ourselves to a gourmet dinner in the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed teatime the next day in the glorious Lichtsaal lobby with enough art on the walls to satisfy any culture vulture. We're looking forward to our next stay, Weimar has so much to see and this hotel is the place to be.
