This place is incredible, our 2nd visit there. Oceanside pool and easy beach access and long term repeat customers over 2-3 decades. Met the owner. The staff is exceptional and suoer accommodating.

Great family beach stay. The retro look was fun. The mini golf course is great. The pool is big enough for several families to use at the same time. The beach access was the real plus. Being able to just wake up and walk out to the beach was fantastic. Plus the pool side bar for parents was great.

Check in was easy and fast, the room was pristine, the facility was so much fun, with access to games, pool, private beach and towels. x5 stars! Recommended for families!

The property was a great location and it had lots of games to play and it was right in front of the beach. It’s a bit older but still in great shape. I would definitely stay again and has a pool and a bar with beach vibes.

A very quaint property & decorated like the 50s but up to date as well. Lots of little things to do on the property & Super nice staff. Great location & beautiful beach. Love the easy walk to beach to see such beautiful sunsets!

Great spot right on the beach. Pool, tiki bar, volleyball, 4 hole mini-golf, probably more that we didn't take advantage of. Rooms very clean. Lots of parking. Staff was very nice. Will definitely stay again!

They work hard to give it a social feel. Happy hour. The main attraction is only two stories pool tiki bar beach are all right there from any of the rooms. Grocery and reataurants all easy walking distance. Private area of the beach with free chairs and volleyball. Little grottos to hang out in.

Love this property and intend to come back, even to snowbird for a month. Incredibly clean, fun and nostalgic property that embraces the 50’s and 60’s motel experience and even includes a free 1 hour happy hour. Great beach, a tiki bar, mini golf, huge chess set, pool and volleyball should appeal to everyone.

The bed was terrible, the sheets and pillows case were very old. The toilet had a marked in it. The drain in the bathtub was very slow.

The room was very clean, had a great view of the beach and the staff were exceptionally courteous and welcoming. I was an idiot and left my phone behind. Fortunately we live in Tampa so I drove back for it after housekeeping (Yadira) turned it in to management so could pick it up. I certainly appreciated Yadira's honesty. Wonderful experience from check-in to check-out!

The employees were all very nice and helpful. Truly. First of all, the bathroom was in need of deep cleaning and repair. The room itself was clean. The beds were HORRIBLE. The pillows were literally worn out, hard as blocks and FILTHY. We couldn’t get our room cleaned or the bed changed until the 4th day. For 2 days we were told they were short staffed and the cleaning person did not have enough time to do the beds but she could give us sheets and we could change the bed ourselves. We actually pay for the room being cleaned, bed made and sheets changed but at Plaza Beach Resort you pay but don’t receive the services you pay for. We had to change the trash ourselves and sit the bags outside the door for someone to pick up. This also included our bath towels. Everyone at the hotel was having to do this. Piles of towels and garbage outside the doors. When we finally got confirmation of someone coming to change the sheets we decided help her out and take the sheets, blanket and mattress cover off the bed. When I went to remove the sheet and mattress pad I noticed a large red stain that looked like kool-aid or some kind of juice (maybe?) towards the bottom edge of the bed. (This was not our “stain”) I removed the sheet and the stain was also on the mattress cover and made me realize the sheets weren’t changed from the last person!!! Disgusting and unsanitary! Do not waste your money. Pay a little more and get a room at Sirata or PostCard Inn that is worth it and clean!

Such a cute spot! A TON of amenities. Games, mini golf, rooftop outdoor lounge area, pool, tiki bar, grills, play area in the sand for kids, volleyball nets, you name it!! They really go above and beyond providing for their guests. If you’re looking for something fancy and modern, this isn’t the place for you. It’s out-dated (but does have large smart TVs) and the room smells of must/mold. Bathroom wasn’t super clean and we found a live cockroach. Other than that, simply for the atmosphere and the people we will stay again in the future. The vibe is amazing! Great for all ages.

Rooms need to be renovated urgently. Mattress in bad condition, room smells badly and I unfortunately found a cockroach in the coffee maker. Really good location, amenities are good.

It's a great location literally only a few min walk to the ocean from the rooms. Beds were comfortable but the fitted sheets were pilled and that was slightly uncomfortable to sleep on. They have a lot of free activities like sand bag toss, connect 4, foosball, mini golf, etc. The pool was clean and we enjoyed it as well as the tiki bar. We had a great stay except there were shards of broken glass on the floor of our room when we arrived. I found it when I stepped on it and luckily didn't get cut. We swept it up ourselves and just let them know as an FYI. They said that's strange and apologized. We found broken glass again on our checkout day outside our door right next to our daughter's shoes. Housekeeping had placed the new sheets for the next guest on the chair outside in anticipation of cleaning when we checked out. It seems like the glass fell off the sheets. The hotel desk employee apologized again and said they will tell the housekeeping and laundry. I don't know if we will stay again because of the glass happening twice. I'm so glad my daughter didn't get cut, she would have been so uncomfortable during the vacation, but it easily could have happened. It was a disappointing thing that kind of affected our positive experience unfortunately.

Very clean, very eclectic, dated furniture and bathroom but clean. Have a daily beer and wine happy hour. Beachfront, nice pool.

The staff was excellent with advice around the nearby restaurants and places to go shelling . My only drawback was the mattress in one of the beds … it was too soft in the middle , I think it’s time to change it out . Other than that is was a cozy room .

Spotless room with full-size fridge, 2 burner stove and fully stocked kitchen. Pristine pool . Backs up to a private beach with glorious sunset views. Staff were efficient and welcoming. Location is close to great dining (1200 Chophouse) and excursions. Already planning my next visit!

Convenient area with beach front. Room was very small for four adults. Kitchen area was very tiny, with minimum silverware and dishes not great quality. Stove was not provided, just small cook top. Old but working refrigerator with multiple cracks inside. Paper towels or napkins were not provided. Bathroom very small and outdated with many cracks in a tub. Towels and bedding very old, stained, some had holes in it. Beach towels were in decent condition and were very helpful to have. Area surrounding hotel was clean in decent conditions. Staff were pleasant and always ready to help. Coffee in mornings was helpful. Overall this hotel has a lot of potential but it needs renovations. Beach was excellent with calm and warm ocean. I would definitely like to come back to the area , but stay at a different place.

Generally liked the venue, but my room was right on Gulf Blvd and thus extremely noisy at times!

This was a surprise trip for my wife. I was lured in by the “ocean view” description of the room; unless you get one of the four suites at the end of the building that has their balconies facing the beach, “ocean view” means a small window in the corner facing the ocean. That’s on me though. The bathroom feels more like a closet that was turned into a bathroom; if someone needs to use the toilet, and a person is at the sink…it turns into a shuffle game. I stand 6’2”, my knees were touching the tub while sitting on the toilet. Also, I had to bend over in the shower because the nozzle was too low. If you’re a light sleeper, good luck. The lights outside are not completely blocked out by the shades either.

The staff was great and very helpful and attentive. The location of the property is also ideal and the beach was excellent. The pool was average but worked well enough for what we were looking for. We did have WiFi issues all week that were never resolved so that was annoying. The bathroom was also a little musty but other than that the room was good.

I chose one of the oceanfront rooms which was great since the others’ view is either the parking lot or the garden area. The room was a bit noisy with people by the pool and out looked games but you can’t hear the view. The room does not offer coffee. There’s a coffee maker, fridge, microwave and stovetop but the only coffee available was in the lobby when it opened at 0800. If you’re an early riser, bring some coffee! The beach is gorgeous and it’s easy to rent a chair and umbrella right there. Chris’ bar is right by the pool and offers very affordable canned drinks. No mixed drinks offer than cans. The mojito was fantastic and only $5! The staff recommended Snappers as a great seafood spot for dinner. I had the fresh catch red snapper. It was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Definitely worth it. Snappers is about 1 mile from the hotel.

This is a funky retro motel with a lot of character. The staff is super nice and they are on it. An older property like so many on the beach but well maintained and clean! The hotel room was a mini suite with fridge, sink, cooktop and plenty of room. I like the vibe here!

This is a unique older complex located on St. Pete Beach. It is only 2 stories surrounded by newer high rise buildings. It has survived progress by evolving with its own little flair - 1950\'s decor style. A working payphone ($0.10 local calls) on the wall in our room was just one item to stand out. The room was clean and comfortable. The only bad thing in the room was the location and height of the tv mounted on the wall. It was located where you had to watch your head if you were taller than 5\'6". My husband wacked his head hard on the corner of that tv twice, once walking to get into bed and the other coming in off the patio. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant and the amenities were very family friendly. Our only complaint would be that we booked an ocean view room. There was no view as we were on the first floor looking at the pool fence. If we looked carefully through the fence, people, pool chairs and a second fence we could see a bit of the ocean. There only appeared to be 4 ocean view rooms, ask for the second floor if you really want a view.

So happy to see this hotel is thriving after last year’s hurricanes! First floor rooms are remodeled and looking great! Family friendly games are still available. Only issue is that the sliding bathroom door got stuck a few times and at one point I couldn’t open the door, trapped inside the bathroom and my son had to help me escape. When I told the front desk, the girl replied “oh yeah I heard room 105 has issues with the bathroom door”. So if you know the door isn’t working properly, get it fixed. When we returned one of the games to the front desk, same girl looked confused…. Well it’s the hotel property(clearly marked “hotel property”) so we returning it! Overall it was a great experience!

Fantastic Stay – Already Planning Our Return! We had an amazing time at the Plaza Beach Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home. Sharina checked in with us regularly to make sure everything was perfect—her attentiveness truly made a difference in our stay. Tanner was incredibly accommodating and made our sunset check-out seamless and stress-free (thank you for that!). And Annika was such a joy—super friendly and always available for anything we needed. Every morning started with delicious coffee, and we spent our days relaxing by the awesome pool or soaking up the sun on the beautiful beach just steps away. The atmosphere was relaxed, clean, and exactly what we were hoping for. We’ll definitely be back—already looking forward to our next visit!

From the check in process where i received FRESH COTTON CANDY, with a warm smile and coupled with the kitschy decor, i knew it was the place for me!. The room is exactly as advertised clean, thoughtful decor and accessible to all amenities! Truely a gem! While it may look tempting to stay at a brand name resort, it would be a disservice to not enjoy this wonderful hotel. I am looking forward to coming back!

This hotel exceeded my expectations! My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend, flew in Friday, left late Monday night. We arrived to the hotel on Friday, our room wasn’t ready for check in yet, but Cherish at the front desk said we were more than welcome to explore the property and use the pool and accommodations at the hotel until our room was ready for check in. My boyfriend and I sleep with a box fan on, so I had asked the front desk on the first night if they had an extra fan we could use for our stay. Within 15 minutes, another staff member knocked on our door and we had the fan. The front desk had texted me throughout the stay to see how everything was, and if we needed anything to let them know. The beach was so close and within walking distance from our room, which was a HUGE plus! I loved this! No need to haul a beach bag for miles! The pool was wonderful too, and not to mention the Tiki Bar! It was a fun added addition. We got to watch people play beach volleyball and the beach at night was gorgeous. There were shuffleboard and corn hole boards to play, and a smile kids area that had sand toys and everything. We cannot wait to come back to this hotel! The staff, other patrons, and atmosphere and environment was 10/10. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. The staff really goes above and beyond! Our staff was fabulous!

Customer Service: It was originally a five star hands down, but as our stay went on, I felt like there was a little bit of lip service with the broken sliding door and a level of indifference when it was brought up for the third time at checkout. Otherwise, the staff were fantastic and super friendly. Rooms: if you do your research, you will know that the property in general is dated. But that is okay if your priority is fun, chill and a balcony view. My biggest complaint is that there are very easy maintenance fixes that would up my review. There is no reason that the slider to the balcony should have had the hardware that it did. It was clearly in need of repair months ago. There was a large gash in the headboard. The couch has a hardwood board that is settled between the cushions and pullout. The paint could be refreshed for a nominal dollar amount (i.e. behind the fridge). Location: 5 stars, can't beat it. Amazing sunsets, good area. Amenities: Dated in some respects. There is a ping pong table, chess and a small mini golf course we discovered on our way out. They have fabulous volleyball courts and a great pool! Cleanliness - 5 star. The property was very clean. Many other local places have hidden fees, events, amenities not included). The plaza is transparent with their fees. That is a big pro side for me. Would I stay again? Yes, hands down.

The staff was very friendly and answered all our concerns. The pool was bigger than I had expected and is right next to the beach. The rooms have a small kitchenette which made fixing some of our own meals possible. It's within walking distance of several really good restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel, and I rarely ever do reviews so that really means something.

We had a room with a balcony facing the ocean. The staff were excellent and the room and facilities were good. This hotel is a more affordable option if you want easy beach access on Gulf Blvd. in St. Pete. Make arrangements if you are checking in late. The front office closes at 7pm and doesn't reopen until 8am. Overall, this was good value for the money.

Nice beach access

This was our second trip this year to Plaza Beach Resorts. The location is great, the beach is not super crowded and you can walk to nearby restaurants. The view from our room is amazing , we love sitting on the balcony, being able to relax and enjoy it all!

Great place on the beach. Doesnt have a typical fancy lobby or valet parking- but you don't care about that at the beach! Great staff in the office, with a cool vintage look and feel. The rooms are great, lots of activities around the resort to for just casual chilling. The pool is great and had a bar. Saved best for last - the beach is amazing. And this hotel is right on the beach. Just an easy walk outside of your room, past the pool, and you're right on the beach. Huge beautiful beach with lot of space, lot of sand, and really nice water. Highly recommended if you want a great stay right in the beach.

Great location an perfect Beach. The pictures are not the same as when you get there. Got a Room in front of the parking lot. Felt like a Motel.

No food offered on the hotel, just coffee. I didn’t like the hidden fees $20 each person for the wristband as a way of charging extra fees. This should be disclosed during the charging per night process.

Beautiful beach, friendly staff, great for a nice weekend. I wish there was an onsite restaurant. It was a nice peaceful time!

The Plaza Beach has been a staple on St Pete Beach for decades. I’ve had the pleasure of staying there on numerous occasions. This place is all about location and hospitality. It’s no frills. No restaurant, no lounge. But there are restaurants everywhere and the tiki bar is more than adequate and very affordable. Rooms are clean and the staff makes you feel you’re at the Ritz. The nostalgia and retro atmosphere is awesome. Just a great place!

However, the curtains did not block out the light from the hallway which remained on all night. We were charged a VIP rate which I never understood the benefits of. They made coffee very late (8:00am), luckily we had a coffee maker, but we had to bring our own coffee. The beach bar is very fun and has a great atmosphere, with lots of young people enjoying the hotel."
