The Italian restaurant inside is delicious, we went twice! If you aren’t I. The mood for there are so many options that are walkable. The Taco spot around the corner is also a win for food Taco Maya. The only thing we didn’t like is having to wait so long for the elevator, 25 mins to get from the 4th floor to checkout. If we didn’t have luggage we would’ve walked down. And the pillows could use an upgrade! Beds not super comfortable but it was fine.

The carpet needs to be shampooed. Feet was black after shower and walking on carpet. Room was warm went and bought a fan to accommodate. Went checked in they lady asked how many room keys i said 3 please, got 2 keys We was stuck in elevator for 20 mins noone told us need to use key card to get us to our floor, which brings us to 1 room key did not work we only had 1 working key When we told the lady she treated us like we was dumb. Did not appreciate that at all. We made due. Lastly we thought we was going to get a city view. When looking out the window we see jewel- osco. Nice view! Not what we paid for. Other that everything was good.

Disgusting experience. The room we were given had bed bugs, and while we were offered a room transfer, it did little to ease our concerns. My family felt extremely uncomfortable and on edge for the rest of the night. What’s worse, no one from management has reached out to apologize or make things right, and they still expect us to pay for a room that was infested and unacceptable. This is a serious health and safety issue that was handled with complete indifference. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

My husband and I found this hotel to be very nice. The room was clean except for the vent in the bathroom which was gross. The TV didn't work the first night we were there and my husband had to fool with it to come on. The free breakfast was good along with the cocktail hour at night. Nice to have a little something before going out at night. The staff was very friendly, especially Ivan at the front desk. I would definitily recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was wonderful. The staff were great. Our room was clean. The location of this hotel is convenient. It’s near a subway station and there’s plenty to see and do that’s walkable. One of the 4 elevators was not working during our stay. Even if all were working, it may not be sufficient during the mornings. The waits were sometimes quite ridiculous and after the doors would open to reveal a completely full elevator, we would often just use the stairs. This may truly be the least soundproof hotel we have ever stayed in. I expected some street noise and that was definitely audible from our 5th floor room. The walls were just paper thin though. We could hear the conversations of the people in the room next to us. Foot traffic in the hallways just echoed outside our door. My main complaint is probably that the lights throughout our room all used motion sensors. We were in a room that slept 6 people. If one person in the room gets up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, everyone in the room gets to wake up from the lights turning on. By the end of our trip, my son was crawling on his hands and knees through the dark room to try and allow everyone to keep sleeping. It was absurd. I wouldn’t hate to stay here again, but I would probably try a different hotel when/if we return to Chicago.

Was disappointed that I had to change room because the A/C not working. The hotel’s location was convenient, right in the middle of everything and just a short walk to the CTA and Michigan Ave. Unfortunately, the noise level made sleeping nearly impossible, with constant honking and emergency vehicle sirens throughout the night. The room stayed uncomfortably warm for the entire stay, even after engineering checked the air conditioning. The in room phone didn’t work, and the pillows were flat and yellow from age. Overall, I would not stay here again, or recommend it.

We had a fantastic stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown River North. Our suite was impressively clean and offered plenty of space to spread out, which made it especially comfortable for a multi-day visit. Everything felt well maintained and tidy, which gave us peace of mind right from the start. The location was another highlight. Being in River North meant we were close to great restaurants, shopping, and attractions, and having the subway nearby made getting around the city easy and convenient. It was the perfect base for exploring Chicago. Breakfast was outstanding and far above the standard hotel fare. There were lots of options to choose from, including fresh fruit, pastries, hot items, and the standout feature—a station for custom-made omelets. It was a great way to start each day, and the variety meant there was something for everyone. Overall, Embassy Suites River North checked all the boxes: clean, spacious, well-located, and with excellent breakfast to top it off. We would happily stay here again on our next trip to Chicago.

Excellent! The staff went above and beyond, including the valet, front desk, the bell hop, and staff working the morning breakfast. Everyone did their jobs well, efficiently, and with a smile! Even after checking out we were able to leave our bags and car there until we were done shopping. We got great recommendations from the bell hop. The location was PERFECT as well.

The hotel itself was nice, but the staffing wasn't the best. One party in my group was able to have housekeeping confirm that the room was ready. Meanwhile the other room wasn't ready until 40 minutes after check-in time (and over an hour after our other room next door was ready) and the front desk staff said there was nothing they could do. Our infant was sick and needed a nap, so it was less than ideal to be waiting in the lobby with a crying baby for such a long time. Breakfast seemed to start a bit late at 7:30 on the weekend - there were about 50 people waiting around for it to open at that time. There was a wedding reception taking place in the restaurant in the lobby and it was quite loud in the rooms until 11:30 or so. Valet parking was fast and easy - parking staff was friendly.

Our room was not cleaned despite the front desk assuring us it would be done. We asked for a discount. The manager was supposed to call us back. Over a week has passed. No call. No apology and no explanation. We do not recommend this hotel. On a positive note. All the staff associated with preparing and serving the daily breakfast and evening managers hour were terrific! The very best!!

Check-in process was very disappointing. At times only one employee at the desk with a long line, took about 75 minutes to get to our room. First, they were overbooked and forced us to relocate to a dump at 1am. We had to pay for our own transportation there and back and though every "Manager" assured us that we would be reimbursed BEFORE we checked out, that was a blatant lie. They could replace all management with an AI robot and have a better outcome. Generalized incompetence and gaslighting must be the brand standard. Horrible, horrible, horrible. The cost of the taxis was not the issue; the group effort to lie about the process and then still fail to handle the situation honestly was unacceptable. Trust nothing any manager says. Arrive early because they oversell daily and their "sister" hotels are miles away and piss poor. Buyer beware.

The Embassy Suites River North is a conveniently located hotel in the Chicago downtown area. You are three short blocks away from the Magnificent Mile and about a 10 minute walk to the river. I stayed here with my family of 5 for 4 nights and I felt like this was a good choice. There were plenty of dining options in the area, a Starbucks at the end of the block, and a grocery store across the street. Quartino's, the Italian restaurant next door, is excellent. The area is pretty safe and there are people out at all hours. Even though I was on the 4th floor, I was not bothered by any of the street noise, despite the odd car here and there that would rev their engines through the city. There is a Red Line station a block away, which we took to Wrigley, but otherwise, we walked pretty much everywhere. A walk to the Navy Pier is doable, but is a little rough during the summer. As with all Embassy Suites, you have the free breakfast and cocktail reception. The omelet station stands out, but the rest of the breakfast is par for the course. The cocktail reception allows 2 alcoholic beverages per adult and some snacks every night. Good to have available if you are at the hotel at that time. I did leave a couple items at the hotel and when I called to ask about them, I was referred to a service that they use for lost items. We'll see if I'm able to get them back. Overall, a good hotel in a good location.

Very easy check in. Very clean room that I’ve come to expect w/the Embassy Suites. Happy hour snacks was more filling than I expected and I surprididn’t even need dinner - it was cheese and crackers and veggies and dip. It was so relaxing I opted for late check out to enjoy the pool before I left. Staff was friendly and helpful. The mezzanine is beautiful and airy. I’d definitely stay again - it’s near so many things downtown!

Hidden fee of $79 per night to park. Small bottles of water were over $9 each. Towel rack was rusty. No wash cloths, went to front desk to get some and staff acted like that was normal. Breakfast food quality was poor. Frozen pancakes, cold and unseasoned potatoes. Daily special wasnt posted. Did not receive typical Hilton hospitality and customer service.

Great hotel in a very convenient location. Really close to Grand Red Line stop with plenty of places to eat. Not far from Magnificent Mile and Grant Park. Hotel is well kept, and the service is excellent. We did have an issue with our TV and phone. The first maintenance guy to show up could not fix the phone. He also didn't help much with the TV, but day shift guy was excellent! He fixed both in no time and lefr us the main tv remote since it kept going out of sync. Delicious by buffet breakfast with great options, and egg station guys were super fast. I'd definitely stay again.

Check in was very slow and took about 45min. There were a lot of people staying there were long lines for the evening reception and breakfast.There is a lot of road noise at night that can be heard from the room, but was expected as this is a city hotel. The location was convenient. A lot of restaurant choices nearby.
