Courtyard by Marriott Chicago at Medical District-UIC

Staff was excellent! Front desk worker was nice and very helpful. Valet was super cool and went above and beyond! One negative- and I know it’s not them personally but not sure how you charge $40 (actually $53.50 after tax and fees) to park in the hotel lot that you are staying at! That’s ridiculous and not disclosed on Travelocity!

Overall, I would rate this hotel a 3 out of 5 due to the limited accommodations offered. One downside was the valet-only parking option, which cost $40 per night—a bit steep in my opinion. The alternative was a parking ramp a block away, which isn't ideal when you're hauling luggage and personal items through a busy, congested area. Another disappointment was the lack of complimentary coffee, which I believe should be standard at any hotel. Despite these drawbacks, our stay was decent overall, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Super clean hotel from the lobby to the rooms. Beds were really comfortable with plenty of pillows provided. Staff was friendly. Check-out is 12:00 which is later than most hotels. Only complaint is parking was valet only, so to get anything from your car, you had to get the key from valet or security.

Lovely hotel, everything was clean and the staff was very nice. It was super close to my destination and reasonably priced. However, my biggest complaint is parking. They have a parking lot, but charge you $40 per day. (I spent $1,600 for 4 nights) I truly don’t believe I should have to pay for parking- but the worse part is after it was all said and done parking was actually $73 a night because of some “fees” that they couldn’t explain to me. Probably won’t stay there again because I was not planning on spending $300 for parking on top of the $1,600 I spent for the room.

The hotel only have one elevator in use. The air conditioning in 303 don’t work correctly.

The lobby is currently being renovated. Guests could not enter from the drive but have to walk around to the street entrance, in the rain and cold.

Rooms were clean but hotel was a little run down. Elevator was a little shaky. They had a shuttle to united center for the event but did not pick up afterwards.

We stayed here for its close proximity to the United Center for a concert. Rooms were comfortable, beds plush, lots of pillows. Free shuttle to United Center was excellent, driver even stayed past his midnight shift to come back for those of us at the concert. Much easier than Uber. I would recommend staying here for sure if you are seeing a concert. Staying close to Michigan Ave is nice for shopping but it’s so loud. We just took an Uber to shopping and stayed here which I preferred.

Easy parking, helpful staff, clean rooms.

Room was big and had a couch which was nice. Big TV and could watch netflix. There was a big red stain on the floor and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. But overall very nice stay. Front desk and valet very nice. Biggest selling point was the shuttle to United Center

The hotel is not very clean. The bathroom in our room had poop on the floor and hair all over the vanity. Common areas and elevator were not very clean either. There is NOT a restaurant for breakfast, it is a Starbucks. The front desk was not friendly, my greeting at check in was "do you want something?" Staff then stood at the front desk complaining about not enough people being scheduled in front of the guests. The bed was comfortable and clean, a plus. Overall, not great stay and VERY overpriced for a shabby hotel with poor service.

Great hotel! Comfortable beds, and a very clean facility.

The hotel was in a convenient location, was reasonably priced considering the event going on in the nearby neighborhood, and was just near perfect overall. My main pros were: near various restaurants, quiet neighborhood, and easy valet process. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, tv was large though unused by us since we were just there to sleep, and the bathroom was clean and outfitted with mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. A big plus for eco-friendly rather than using the disposable, small bottles. Lastly, everyone we encountered that worked here was friendly and accommodating. Even in the world of hospitality you don’t always get that but these individuals were excellent. My only con: pillows. While some guests may not mind having pillows that go totally flat throughout the night, I am not one. One pillow goes flat and you wake up with a cramp in the neck, and using two pillows is just too tall for me. Probably still the residual issue from an auto accident but it just makes me finicky about pillows. In the end this is a grade A place and I would gladly stay again.

The heat didn’t work just blowing out cold no matter the setting

This is an older location with more foot traffic. The hotel itself was decent. I was very uncomfortable with dark hallways. There is barely any lights to see others. The hallway leading to my room was pitch black. The rooms are large and spacious. Downside, the walls are super thin. You can hear your neighbors cough, conversations and alarms going off. If you don’t mind any of this, it’s a decent hotel. Staff overall are great.

This hotel is right next to hospital so you can expect sirens going off literally all night and every night.. other than that this hotel is top notch. Clean, in&out access to Valet for 40$ a day, free shuttle to take you to United Center concerts, free shuttle that takes you to little Italy… will not stay here again due to the sirens at night

Location is be very good, close to metro and have certain good restaurants two blocks behind. Hotel has shuttle bus which can send you within 1 mile. Room is cozy but a bit noisy can hear toilet flush from the next room. Staff are very helpful and cheerful. It’s a pleasant stay for my marathon.

Room was clean and area was quiet. The bed was amazing and parking was easy.

The room was clean, the self-serve coffee in-room was good, it was quiet, and the staff was friendly. Bed was not comfortable and the pillows were horrid—airy, puffy blobs that immediately deflated, not my preference. It had a decent location for our needs, and the price was right. Once I borrowed a better pillow from a friend in the area, I could sleep. Had I depended on the hotel pillows, I wouldn’t have slept at all probably. Overall, I would stay there again; I’d just bring my own pillow.

Wasnt able to check in until 90 minutes past check in time. Sat in lobby with many others waiting. Price nowhere near quality

The Staff was absolutely amazing! Nice, Friendly, Accommodating, I definitely would go back just for them.

We were stranded on a connecting flight due to weather, so came in tired and frustrated. The staff was so helpful and supportive! Offered toothbrushes and amenities since everything was in our luggage!

The entire staff were wonderful, very helpful and welcoming.

Not a bad stay at all. I stayed here with my daughter for a couple days after being discharged from the hospital. It was quiet and comfy. The desk staff were very friendly, as well as the valet team. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Check in was listed on their website as 3pm. We had arrived 2 hours later from out of town. Valet was friendly, no one was there at the front desk so valet had to grab Kevin from the office. Kevin was clearly sick and should’ve had the day off or had a mask. There was some miscommunication about how many rooms but he was very polite. I just felt bad that he was working while he wasn’t feeling well. It seemed as though our rooms were still not ready so he tried to get into contact with Jackie but she was no where to be found. He let us know it would be just a minute and wait in the lobby. Other guests checking in checked in just fine and got their rooms. Once Jackie came down she had her headphones in and didn’t seem to be in any rush to get any rooms prepared. Kevin gave us vouchers for the breakfast in the morning, but since we were simply there for a concert late at night we wouldn’t be using them so early the next day, but we appreciated his hospitality. That night when we arrived back from the concert there was no valet and we didn’t feel secure leaving it out front off a main road in downtown Chicago. The young women at the front desk with blond hair stated that she had sent him (valet) to do an errand for her so to just lock it up and they would park it once they arrived. Check out went smooth.

A bit far from the city when you don’t have a car

We stayed here for a show at the Cobra Lounge down the street and it was great! I love that the hotel offers a shuttle for travel within a mile so finding street parking on a busy weekend wasn’t something we had to be concerned with. When a place was out of the shuttle radius, it was just a short walk to the Pink Line station. Very good location, super kind front desk staff—I would absolutely consider this location again for future travel.

Good place close ro Rush

This hotel advertised free breakfast but the restaurant was under renovation and there ws only some apples and bad coffee available. Area is pretty empty .. there's restaurant strtee closeby but the restaurants are rather bad. Internet is not free .. only in the lobby and you need to pay for the connection.

FRIENDLY! CLEAN! GOOD LOCATION! RESTAURANT! SHUTTLE! Stayed here because it was close to the United Center. They had a shuttle to and from the venue. Our shuttle driver Ronnel was fantastic! Rooms are a nice size. Very clean! Food was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Check in and out was smooth. Valet was polite.

This Location was amazing !! The staff at the front desk was soooooo nice and the bistro staff Maria made our evening even better the food at the bistro is top tier !!! get the fries or the pizza, even the chicken sandwich. Another perk was the shuttle transport to the concert venue that was within a mile for FREE, Of coursed we tipped . Guys I kid you not this place was really a Gem and made our visit to Chicago really nice.

Our stay was very good. The reason we picked this location was because my wife needed a surgical procedure done at a hospital in the same area. The hotel had a Bistro and on site parking. They had a shuttle service that took us right to the door of the hospital that we needed. We were able have everything we needed right in or near the hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

A shuttle offered after midnight would help those going to a concert at the United Center. Having the hotel bar open later would be nice. Rooms were hot, could not get the room cold enough.

This hotel is a great option for stay prior to early morning hospital procedure. Although the bar and restaurant are closed for renovation, we appreciated the temporary bar that was available off the lobby.
