Parador de Caceres

Room was fine but I was expecting to have some nicer common areas for a Parador Hotel. Common areas were very small and bland and hotel overall had a pretty boring vibe. I was told I had parked my mid-class rental perfectly in the small parking area at check-in but another front desk person later requested I move even closer to the car next to me to give a high end BMW an excessive extra wide space to park. I guess they value some guest higher than others...

Didn’t like the fact that there was no place to sit outside to lounge and read.

Good hotel but not a good location if yoou have a car. Access to the old town is restricted by very narow oneway streets. Parking is available half a mile away if you can find it. It also costs around €15 and the garage is pretty tight.

We love this Parador, although the terrace they were remodeling the terrace and it was sad to know that we couldn’t enjoy one of the best things of the Parador. But the restaurant was good and the service was great

Wonderful hotel, located in the Old Town. Relatively easy to get to and if you miss a car park, the hotel arranges a secured car park 300m away. Restaurant was excellent. The Old Town is great to walk around in the evenings. The staff were excellent

The hotel is inside the historic center. It’s beautiful and elegant. Parking is a problem but they help you work around it. Walking distance to all mayor sites and museums. The staff could not have been nicer and helpful.

Parking is a pain

Excelente parador en un palacete medieval totalmente renovado. El único inconveniente es que no tiene prácticamente parking y le falta un salón donde pasar una velada charlando y tomando algo.

Only 15 parking spaces and no advice to book in advance not even mentioned in their mail regarding hotel carpark. Public carpark abt. 8€ by taxi ( parking with hotel reduction abt. 12€). Rather complicated to find and get taxi. No tea/coffee facilities ( or drinking water) in the room. Have stayed in 6 other Paradores on this trip and this is "below standard" compared to all others which were top.

Cute hotel. Clean, comfortable bed, and nice service. Parking can be tricky. Be sure to call in advance to get good directions to hotel and where to park.

El parador es un lindo edificio, las habitaciones están muy viejas, la cama que me toco es de colchón de resortes, el baño está bien. Por lo que se espera de un parador esta muy por debajo en calidad de servicios y habitación

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The common areas were nice and well-kept. 10-15 minute walking distance from several Plazas and viewpoints. Overall an excellent stay.

Excellent location in the middle of the « Monumental City ». Very courteous and helpful personnel. Excellent buffet breakfast. The room was very clean, comfortable and charming.

Incredible place with many ancient buildings. So atmospheric. Parador has large, comfortable, and well equipped rooms.

Das Parador ist ein ehemaliger Palast und daher ein wundervolles und prächtiges Gebäude. Der Empfang durch Luis war sehr höflich, zuvorkommend und sehr serviceorientiert. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im oberen Stock - geräumig und sehr sauber. Bequeme Betten und sehr ruhig. Manko war die Klimaanlage, die sich in der Lüftungsintensität nicht steuern ließ. An oder aus. Im laufenden Betrieb war die zu laut, um gut zu schlafen, und ohne war die Luft schnell stickig. Das Zimmer hat leider etwas "muffig" gerochen. Die Rezeption hat bei Check Out eine Prüfung und Behebung zugesagt. Fazit: ein gutes Hotel in einem tollen historischen Gebäude, inmitten der Altstadt - mit einem sensationellen Empfang

Charming old property in an UNESCO Heritage town. Amenities are all updated, comfortable, clean and modern. Wonderful breakfast!

Staying here was a highlight of our trip across Portugal and Spain. The hotel is stunning, along with the surroundings. Cleanliness and setup of our rooms was up-to-par with what you'd expect at a high end hotel. The room is lovely with luxuriously sized and equipped bathrooms. Only complaint was we wish the air conditioning worked in our room (found out from the front desk there was only heat available once we had checked in - unsure if it was a temporary issue). That said, we were lucky to be there in April when having the windows open still helped with the heat some. Nice to also be able to park right behind the hotel with our rental vehicle. Wish we could stay longer!

Tive que mudar de quarto nas 02h00 da madrugada porque o ar condicionado não funcionou , nchkeout me deitam um desconto de 20% na estadia , mas eu perdi uma noite de bom sono !

The staff at this Parador were wonderful. The rooms were large, quiet and clean. Food in the restaurant was good. Overall, a great experience, including the opportunity to walk from the hotel and see the historic city.

Very nice building from outside, inside was a bit of a a disappointment, a bit bland. Unable to use the terrace until 9 pm. Restaurant & staff very good. Room nothing special but serviceable. Not cleaned properly. Wouldn’t rush to stay again.

A bit hard to get to with the narrow & 1-way streets but once you arrive, simply an amazing property ... the room we had was literally one of the best hotel rooms we've ever stayed in.

Parking is off site, so be prepared to lug your suitcases for a bit of a walk. The hotel, however, is amazingly nice. The rooms are slightly above average, but the building itself is a 14th century masterpiece. Breakfast is decent. The little lounge cafe is great to have for an afternoon tea or evening cocktail. The annual medieval festival was underway during our stay. I woke up to parishioners singing at 6am mass. It was a very memorable experience

I really liked the Parador. Staff were excellent when we arrived, the room was cosy, with excellent air conditioning, and the breakfast was amazing. Caution if arriving by car, the old town streets, especially as you exit the Parador, are really tricky, especially if you have a larger vehicle

This Parador in the historic centre of Caceres, which is an UNESCO Heritage site. What the website fails to mention is that no traffic is allowed into the historic centre so you cannot drive to the Parador. This was only explained to us, by email, three days before we arrived. I was with my wife and able to follow the instructions given. f I had been on my own or had not been able to check my email I may well have gone into the prohibited zone, the signs were not large or particularly clear, and been fined. My wife had to walk to the Parador to check us in. I was then collected and taken to a car park in centre of town. I was charged €23 to park a motorbike there which was more than twice the amount of any other hotel, but I really had no choice. If I had known these arrangements beforehand, I probably would not have booked this Parador but one of the many hotels in the main town instead. Our room had high windows and felt like a cell. The service in restaurant at dinner was rushed. We ordered two veal dishes but only one arrived. The waiter said that there had been a mistake and another was being “prepared”. It was not clear whether it was his mistake or that of the kitchen staff. Meanwhile, the first dish was left with us to get cold. Within less than five minutes the second dish came. As we had asked for it cooked medium we were surprised it was this quick, that is until my wife cut into it. It was virtually raw and inedible. I refused to pay for that it was so bad.

Excellent property inside old city. Nicely preserved and upgraded. Understaffed hotel and restaurant resulting in less than adequate service.

A lovely cool Parador with very helpful staff. The historic features of this hotel in the centre of a most fascinating town made it a delightful stay.

Right in the middle of the old city. Takes a confident driver to manoeuvre the narrow cobblestone alleys up the mountain. But once there you can enjoy the Middle Ages all around you

Loved the place. Getting there is a little dicey but just follow hotel direction they send. Great location. Plenty to see in area. Staff super helpful

Beautiful Parador, excellent service, great location. Parking is not easy, which is normal for narrow medieval streets, but the stuff is very helpful with it. Strange that there wasn’t complimentary water bottle, one has to pay for it. For the coffee aficionados, the Parador could change their coffee machines with better ones.
