The West End

The place is ok at best. Check in was easy and the place is clean. Secured parking is a big plus. Amenities poor. USB ports don’t work. Bathroom outlet didn’t work. Workout room attached to laundry and the equipment was very low level.

Easy to get to. Secure parking garage. Nice room. Close to the Fox Theater. Great stay! Quiet and cozy.

Parking is $10/night for nice gated garage parking. No other close parking.We were given two uncleared rooms. Once we got a clean one, it was adequate. Door handle was loose. We bring a noise machine so if you are a light sleeper I would recommend it. Kitchen has a small counter ice maker so you can’t fill up much. Kitchen looked ok with nice living room there too. Gym did have a treadmill, it just didn’t work. We didn’t try the hot tub. Outside patio did look nice. We would stay again only if we needed to be close to our kid who is in college.

Quiet and clean - centrally located and reasonable rates. Kitchen area with juice, fruit, coffee. Exercise room.

We had a great stay at The West End. I called the property ahead of time since our check in was after hours. Heather took care of everything over the phone and gave me access codes so we could arrive and enter smoothly at 3am. The amenities were nice; equipped kitchens and nice lounging areas. I would definitely stay there again.

Extremely spacious room. Felt more like an apartment. Very clean. Easy check in and out. Was really quiet. Safe on site parking $10 per night. Conveniently located. Great price for space/location. Will definitely use again!

Had a great trip! The rooms were comfortable and convenient key-less entry as well. I did forget the bottom mat to my suitcase carrier I brought, and am hoping they will get back to me about possibly shipping it back home. The hot water seemed a bit "residential", but not a complete deal breaker for me. I liked the added touch of the community lounging and cooking areas, complete with a workout room and hot tub. The guy who worked nights there was very polite and helpful with all my requests. A great place to stay overall.

This place was was GREAT!!! The rooms were super clean along with outside area and hottub. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back.

Very clean and up-to-date property. On-site parking is safe and a great value at $10 a night. The outside door code didn't work every time, but the actual room key code was fine. The common areas are well-appointed and clean.

Towels had hair on them and looked dirty and dingy. The towels were thin and almost breaking apart. Floors were not swept, there were crumbs all over.

Pros: My car seemed safely parked and it only cost $10/night for parking. It was a quiet hotel. Cons: It felt like a dorm room, the reception, main floor smelled awful. The room did not feel clean - though the sheets on the bed were clean. The AC was loud, but cooled adequately. For the price, the experience should have been better.

This was a delightful, last-minute find. Our room was modern and clean. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely recommend and would use them again if we were back in the area.

Room was pretty dirty. The floor be nasty - turned my white socks black after 10 mins. No phone to call front desk for any needed supplies. No front desk to ask. Was gonna stay 2 nights but only stayed one

Good Location, safe area, a short drive to downtown St. Louis. Overall cleanliness was good. Comfortable room, comfortable bed and nice pillows.

Mold in the shower, stains on the bathroom wall and ceiling, bath mat wet upon arrival. The door lock and fridge were loud and made random clicking noises that made it difficult to sleep. Our bathroom door didn’t close properly. Floors were sticky. No smoking signs up but whole wing was Smokey upon arrival.

The feel of the place was like staying in a bachelor pad. Sheets were not clean, towels had bleach stains, not a single item on the wall was straight, shower head was coming out of wall, and overall structure felt ready to crumble. The pictures do not match the actual place.

This hotel was a little confusing for parking and checkin. The room was really small for a 2 bed. It was ok but not great. Seemed like a good area.

Room was clean. Staff were good. My room was on the traffic side so somewhat noisy in the morning. The door did not seal tight so I could hear people walking down the hallway. The bathroom lighted mirror and the adjustable table lamps were a nice touch. The pillows and bed were comfortable.

From the check-in to the condition of the room, it was very great. My problems did not start until I tried to sleep. I don’t know what was going on upstairs, but somebody was walking very heavy, footed throughout the whole night, dropping things on the floor and that lasted for two nights you can always hear anybody walking in the hallways, laughing The walls are very thin. Other than that. I really did enjoy the stay. The shower could’ve been a little bit bigger, but that’s about the only issue with the room.

Secure parking garage. The suite was great for our family. Feel was closer to a B&B than hotel.

First room had non-working heat and bed with extremely thin mattress. We were moved quickly and politely to room with functioning heat and much plusher (king) bed. Go for the king! Otherwise small rooms, nice lobby and patio. Good value.

Comfy bed, small but clean room, great amenities and layout, the entire place exceeded my expectations except for room size. I slept perfectly so I'm not complaining much. The downstairs lounge area makes it much better of an expensive if you go down there.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this place. Everything is clean. Parking is easy. Bed is pretty comfortable. It’s quiet. Those are the good parts. The shower in our room this time was tiny and we are small people. It also was hard to adjust the temperature, it seemed like the “just right” temp occupied one millimeter of the dial. A few annoying minor things: only one coffee mug in the room, no bathmat, and the shower curtain didn’t keep all the water in the shower, so a potentially slippery wet floor. For the price, you get the basics, but I didn’t pay a basics rate this time. I’m not sure we will stay here again, the biggest draw for us is it’s a 5 min walk to a music venue we really enjoy.

I went on the cheap end for this quick family get-away. Room, bed, bathroom, etc., fine for price point, but if you stay here you HAVE to be on the top floor (3rd). There is no sound-proofing between floors. Walls were ok, though doors don't fit jams, so you seen a bright glow from the hall all the way around the door (never gets fully dark in room) and you hear everything in hallway and when other doors close, yours rattles. We got in after 10p.m. the first night, and around midnight it sounded like someone was moving things or building something above us, waking two of us up. We let it go for about an hour before calling front desk. At about 1:30a.m. there was a knock on the door and the front desk person asked if it was better (waking our daughter up, don't know why they didn't text or call). It wasn't. They said they would contact the room again. At 2 it was still constant noise, so we called again and they had us move rooms.We were dead tired for our one day in town. The next night we were woken again at 2 in the new room, just normal walking around sounds so nothing to complain to anyone about, but the floors/ceilings are so paper thin you hear everything. We suffered another night and drove home in the morning. Other than sleep, room was fine for price. There is an extra charge for parking if you want it, so be aware.

No one working at night. We went out came back and our door code would not work. No one there to open the door, we called the number and got the run around, put us in another room with our belongings locked in our original room. Did not get into our original room until 9:30 am. What a joke. Also ended up getting bit up with what I presume are bed bug bites. Now I am having to spray down our bags and car to make sure we do not bring bugs home.Do not stay here people.

There was no hot water. There is a sign posted at the shower "if water isnt hot, let run for 2 minutes so it can become hot." It never gets hot. It was tepid, at best. They either neee bigger tanks or new elements. The hot tub was covered when I went to it and i didnt want the responsibility of uncovering it in case I messed something up. The staff was kind when i checked in and when i got lost. The hotel is very clean. Only one drinking glass in a 2 person room. The carpet nails in the metal carpet transitions need hammered back down. They stick up and can be hazardous. I did get a good nights sleep on a comfortable bed and it was pristinely clean. It was quiet. I went to bed at 8pm and was up at 4 and i was never disturbed. One major flaw: the code to exit the garage was not sent to me until 7am but i had to leave before 5am. I went to the front desk and nobody was there. Fortunately another guest had the exit code and i was able to leave. The exit code should be provided with the eifi details upon check in, not for checkout.

There is no one working there outside of “normal business hours”. So if you arrive after 5pm, you’re SOL. Good luck getting into the building. The parking garage is gated, yes, but anyone can drive up and get in. If you’re not one of a lucky few who can snag a limited hotel-designated spot on ground level, there is no elevator to help you get your luggage downstairs. The room is way too small for the cost. The “convenient” usb plugs in the lamp don’t work. The hotel room door closes & locks but doesn’t seal; there was bright light shining in from the hallways all night. For the size of the bathroom, the shower was a postage stamp.

If you check in after 8 there is no staff and you must do it over the phone. Staff didn’t show up till 9am and I couldn’t get out of garage so missed my appointment that morning. Not everyone can or has time to do the check in online first. Not great communication and no sorry.

We decided last minute to see a concert in St Louis, this place was the closest hotel and I got a good rate. Parking was easy, lobby, elevator, and room were all clean. The front desk attendant was helpful when my room code didn’t work, we got in our room quickly. We had everything we needed for our short stay and will remember this place for the next time we see a concert in the neighborhood.

Facilities were good and location very good for our purposes. Best was the service - there was a mixup during check in and the management responded very quickly and compensated us generously for the trouble.

The check in process is difficult with no staff to assist. The room number I was sent in email was different from the actual room number. Has to call guest services three times to get access to the room. The pictures did not match accommodations. Not a pleasant experience but made the best of it since it's no refunds.

Over all this hotel is very nice. Parking was very easy and convenient. The neighborhood people are very nice & helpful we felt safe even late at night. There’s a gas station af one end of the block. Five guys & Pizza Hut on the next block. Walgreens across the street so if you need snacks or anything medical. Great location between forest park & Busch Stadium. We loved it will definitely book there again. The cool retro vibe was just a added benefit to this location.

A great cheap place to stay near Wash U. Not the best neighborhood, no nearby restaurants, CVS across the street.

Location was great, close to central west end, parking was easy. We will be back.

A gem in the heart of the Central West End. I like!

The hotel was good, clean, safe, complete. However, what is missing is signage. What every traveler has in common is that they are far from home, and thus naturally a bit disoriented. It would be nice if their was signage - like, "The West End" and "Check-In",so that we do not have to stumble around wondering and looking where to go. Otherwise - a very good place.

The public shared kitchen is very convenient. However, the lack of windows that open made the room feel a bit stuffy, which was less comfortable.

Loved this hotel! Has two full kitchens, and if the weather was nicer, a great outdoor patio area. Only drawback is it's not so easy for handicapped people to get from the parking garage to the hotel. Otherwise the room was great! Real cups.

Check out is at 10 am already and they wanted me to pay for one hpur more. The hotel was almost empty. The shower gel and shampoo was empty too. But they offer coffee and some donats in the morning. Area is nice. Some stores around

I loved the security, keypad entry to my room - no keys to loose! My room was clean, everything was stocked, including the coffee pot and toiletries in the shower. The hotel was clean, staff was professional and understanding. There's even a full kitchen available for those who wish to make 'home cooked' healthy meals.

Great value for the money, excellent location, with parking included, great common area with well equipped kitchen and training area, they have a great children play area our 3 year old loved. Although they won't serve breakfast, they will serve fruits and donuts in the weekend! I will certainly stay again when traveling to Saint-Louis.

The information packet to checkin was a lot . It wasn't very helpful and I would imagined that those less tech savvy would give up and go elsewhere. The complex it cute and well decorated. We saw the same staff member 2x and he was helpful. The rooms are tight and the hot water is slow, it could be overcame if the common Areas were well appointed. They were not. No cups, no sugar, no cream, no pastries... It one staff member came at the last moment with a few donuts. Parking was the biggest trouble. This is a nice place, it just needs some good leadership.

I would give 5 star if wasn’t for the AC unit blow directly to my bed( can’t adjust), and the room doesn’t have a light but only a small table lamp. considering the price, 4 star should do it, they really keep it clean, very nice public area and kitchen, staff are very friendly. Even though they don’t provide breakfast, during weekends, they do have a lot of free fresh fruits, donuts, and good quality coffee. They also give you 2 bottles of water in your room as well as a complimentary small cake, some snacks. Friendly to pets, only $25/per each time up to 3 days

This property was good value for the price; our Quad room was comfortable and accessible, and the kitchen appliances in the main common room were a useful option. We refilled our coffee and tea many times at all hours. The small workout room has the basics and doesn't feel too crowded. The photos and descriptions are all accurate. We had some hall/room noise bleed thru during the night, but nothing obnoxious or sustained. All guests observed the quiet hours. Check-in/out was very easy and the attached gated parking garage was convenient with a code. There's a Walgreens across the street. We could easily walk to 2 wine bars, a jazz club, a coffee shop, and a fantastic Indian food truck in the gas station parking lot on the corner. For those who are comfortable with city walking, the Metro train stop is less than a mile down a main street, and we were able to catch a bus to downtown at the stop across the street. The city seems to have excellent street & lot parking for drivers.
