First the good part. It's very clean inside and newly remodeled. They come every day and clean up. There is a grocery store nearby and restaurants nearby. The buses are nearby. The bad part is the neighborhood. When I pulled up there was a person yelling at himself pulling his clothes off. Another person around the corner taking their clothes off. People all night screechy their tires and celebrating on the corner. While I was waiting to get into the building and I had my bike by me somebody rode up by my bike and I put it inside the gate and they said I kill people, punk ass beotch. Lots of actions! And for all the remodeling they did inside they didn't do anything to the backyard. It would be nice to put a fence up and be able to sit back there and smoke and not have to smoke on the front porch and have people accost you. They can make a nice little getaway back in the backyard but they have not done anything. And nobody takes care of the lot next door. That's where all the actions going on.

Property was actually nice. Beds were comfortable. Key was initially difficult to find but we found it eventually. Convenient bus line into downtown right outside. Area is okay. Definitely dont stay out too late at night. There was street parking in front of the property.

The rooms are like closets. The area is in a bad area. No off street parking. The beds were falling apart, no air conditioning, and only one very dirty fan for any relief. Overall avoid at all costs.

Really surprised at how beautiful brand new and clean the place was. Gorgeous shared area very large. Felt very safe with using a code to get in the building and in the room. Kitchen was huge with everything I need. Really affordable and you are staying in an authentic neighbourhood.

One of the rooms (No. 5) does not comply with living standards; it is just a small technical room converted into a living space. The property was kept clean on the inside with the exception of the tub side rug. The rug needed to be replaced with a clean one at least every other day since it was a shared bathroom rental space. The management did not make any effort to keep the front of the building cleaned. The same trash that was out side on the sidewalk and grass when we arrived was still there 5 days later when we left.

This is not an Inn, it’s an apartment. There is no guest services, room was clean, bathroom was shared and nasty. People staying here do not keep the place locked so anyone off the street can come in. People were up yelling and screaming at all hours of the night, never staying here again.

We had a amazing stay in this property. The rooms were clean. There is a bus station right infront of the property so its quite easy to travel anywhere from there. Overall I'd highly recommend it.

Booking from out of state, I was unaware of how bad a neighborhood this rental was in. My Uber drivers were all concerned for my well-being, being here alone. Even in the middle of the day, I was propositioned multiple times by drug dealers and prostitutes. The booking said I would get my check-in details days in advance. I had to spend my entire drive in trying to get a hold of someone, because those details were never sent. There is no virtual check-in on arrival. You just use your door code to go in. The basement floor is cheep LVP on top of an incredibly unlevel floor, flexing and buckling any time you walk through. and the shower stall was gross, and falling apart. Lesson learned. I'll be choosing other locations when I come to town again.

I had a great two-night stay at this property in Chicago. The bus stop right in front made it easy to get to Navy Pier, and the location was very accessible. Communication with the property management was smooth, and they were responsive to any inquiries. The place was clean, quiet, and just right for my stay.

I found ants all over my room and bathroom. It was very easy to get in and the interior was clean and beautiful. However, I had trouble sleeping in my bed (very little to no airflow in the bedroom) and would suggest bringing a bedside fan if you stay here in the summer. Otherwise our stay turned out great!

This listing is a *hostel*. That should be clearly listed in the description, was not even mentioned. The “classic triple room” showed pictures of a larger space with multiple rooms, when in reality the space was one tiny closet with a single bunk bed. Very expensive for a hostel. Had to find a completely different hotel and the property manager refused to issue even a partial refund. Expedia customer service was absolutely useless. Thanks for nothing.

I had issues with my code from the start with check in and I was even locked out of my room. Thankfully the other people staying helped me reach out to the Inn to fix this issue. Also I did not feel safe in the area as a man approached me the first night I arrived.

I stayed before and I am a local guide on Google Maps, the collection of pictures I’ve posted have over 4 million views. I like to highlight businesses that are great especially small businesses. In this case i was so impressed that I went to review them on google maps and they weren’t listed. I added them by their name and some time later I was notified that they had received 500,000 views. This stay went well. I was not pleased the way the gaining access went. Two numbers were texting me and calling all at once it made it stressful

Using Expedia, I signed up for five nights at this hotel. The immediate reply was one night for the fourth night. I know that this place to stay never gives refunds, but I gave it a try. I did explain that I had found four other nights to stay. I also explained that I was totally aware that your statement says you never give refunds but because I thought the one out of four day reservation was your mistake and you might possibly give me a refund for that one day. Quite a few times I got a phone call from a number I was unaware of and that number never left a message. I’m not into SPAM. I came back from Chicago yesterday, July 23. I did answer that number. The woman was concerned that “we” hadn’t heard from me. She had no idea that I wouldn’t show up. I repeated to her what I’ve just written above and all she could say repeatedly was “we” never received the message that I wasn’t coming. My response was, “why do you care that despite not knowing if I slept in that room you’re getting my money and that room stayed untouched, as clean as before, so no problem to you. Continue trying to have a suitable and recommended place to stay. Cheers!

The property was very close to BoA 13.1 mile race in Garfield Park. The access to get in was horrendous. I filled out all the pre-check-in information so entry would be smooth and simple. It turned out to be a nightmare. The form just kept asking for more and more things that could not just be answered. This was totally unaaceptible. It should be possible to save the progress while determing how to get the next ridiculous item being demanded. All while standing outside in a very unsafe looking area. No request was made for this information prior to me departing for my trip. As it should not have been since everything had already been submitted.

The place was beautiful and the property managers where amazing!

Property was actually nice. Beds were comfortable. Key was initially difficult to find but we found it eventually. Convenient bus line into downtown right outside. Area is okay. Definitely dont stay out too late at night. There was street parking in front of the property.

The apartment is beautiful, clean, cozy, easy to access. However, the area where it is located does not feel safe since when we arrived at night there were many homeless people hanging around the place, considering that we have to leave the vehicle outside, they come over to see if they can open the vehicles parked there.

The rooms are like closets. The area is in a bad area. No off street parking. The beds were falling apart, no air conditioning, and only one very dirty fan for any relief. Overall avoid at all costs.

We had a amazing stay in this property. The rooms were clean. There is a bus station right infront of the property so its quite easy to travel anywhere from there. Overall I'd highly recommend it.

Booking from out of state, I was unaware of how bad a neighborhood this rental was in. My Uber drivers were all concerned for my well-being, being here alone. Even in the middle of the day, I was propositioned multiple times by drug dealers and prostitutes. The booking said I would get my check-in details days in advance. I had to spend my entire drive in trying to get a hold of someone, because those details were never sent. There is no virtual check-in on arrival. You just use your door code to go in. The basement floor is cheep LVP on top of an incredibly unlevel floor, flexing and buckling any time you walk through. and the shower stall was gross, and falling apart. Lesson learned. I'll be choosing other locations when I come to town again.

I had a great two-night stay at this property in Chicago. The bus stop right in front made it easy to get to Navy Pier, and the location was very accessible. Overall enjoyed my stay at the Chicago Avenue Inn. Property was clean, had no issues with the shared spaces. Access to bus stop right outside the front door but it’s not the greatest part of town so be aware of that at night.

Neighbourhood isn't safe at all. Cleanliness and service overall is pretty good. But you pretty much can't use public transport because of the neighbourhood. Especially at nights.

Location worked very well for our needs. Location was a bit sketchy but we came across zero issues with the neighborhood. Room wasn’t perfect and could have been a little more clean as there was a dirty rag on the floor and the bed sheets/pillows had some questionable stains. Best New Subs across the street was delicious and worth stopping by. Keep in mind all amenities, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge areas are all shared spaces. Doors to the rooms could have been more secured with deadbolts.

It was very nice and well maintained, room was super hot without window open but that’s not a big deal, definitely need to me more open about the fact that’s it’s a shared space kind of hostel thing cuz I was unaware till arrival and I’ve seen many others also not get enough warning other then “shared fridge and microwave” on the page but overall good for price
