Such a peaceful relaxing place, so near to the bustle of Greater London. The gardens are superb, rooms good and staff helpful and friendly. Safe and ample parking and they even have a helicopter pad!

Place is stunning the building and grounds are immaculate and with a great deal of history to read and see. Checked in late and the night manager Ben was superb a lovely man who opened the bar for us for a quick pint. All of the staff were excellent I cannot rate highly enough and will certainly be staying again

Great location, very well kept, breakfast was fantastic, evening meal was to die for but three little issues - 1. When walking in the main door stinks of cigarettes as people obviously smoke there, plenty of other places where let them use the main door. 2. WIFI - I was on the second floor, outside by the lift - full signal i was the next door to the corridor and as the walls are solid brick I got 1 bar due to the access point distance so Wi-Fi was not great, 3 more access points sort=s this by the way ( I work in IT) 3. The room was clean, bedsheets especially and bathroom was great. But the room had not been vaced properly as still someone's long hairs on the floor, so not a great one. But would I stay there again - yes, but would this time make sure to tell reception but only noticed the hair on the carpet this morning just as leaving

It’s a lovely property but dated and in need of refurbishment. Stay was disappointing. Our room was dusty and, following our request to have it cleaned, there was little improvement. First night - toilet flush not working properly & leaking washbasin. However, reception had this sorted next day. We expected better of a hotel charging almost £400 for a 3 night stay.

We held our wedding reception at this hotel 41 years ago and it's pleasing that very little has changed. Breakfast was excellent. The only disappointment was our bathroom which felt grubby - the rim underneath the toilet bowl was stained or hadn't been cleaned. The area around the shower base was dusty and the tiles around the hand sink similarly had splash marks and all the tiles could do with a polish. As at clean bathroom is a crucial part of feeling comfortable in a hotel it was a shame as everything else was very good.

There was no air conditioning in the property and the room was stifling, had to keep window wide open all night but even with this and a small fan the heat was unbearable! Rooms are dated, traditional style in keeping with the building but could do with a make over feel old, TV's and furniture would benefit from an overhaul! Also found toenails on carpet behind the bin - reported this to reception!

The Cozy room was not very clean. The shower was small and there was soap scrum on the shower glass. The shower head was dirty. The kettle in the room had some dried up white stuff around and in it (looks like milk).

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I stayed in one of the outbuildings and I loved my stay. Clean room, beautiful grounds, the peace and quiet, the warmth of the staff, and the breakfast were really good. I definitely plan to visit again!

There was a bit of mould on the grouting in the bathroom and some paint touch-up is required on the heating pipe in the bedroom area. The sash window and frame could do with some sprucing-up and aircon in the room is required. I understand that it is a period building, but I like modern conveniences too.

Our trip fell during the heat wave. After 3 hot nights, the hotel upgraded us to a room with Aircon. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are comfortable but in need of update. The staff are helpful.

It's a beautiful hotel. Our room was a little bit too small for three of us, with a double and camp bed. The camp bed was also very flimsy and uncomfortable to sleep on. The staff were lovely though and the food was good.

Location is great Room was very small, outdated and no better than a Travel Lodge. Bathroom was so basic, nowhere to put your things, way too small and needed a total refurb. Crooked toilet seat, tiny corner shower where i kept banging my elbow against the inside handle because there was no space to move. The price we were told it would be for breakfast was not the price they charged us. Not worth the money at all!!! The grounds are lovely but the hotel desperately needs a refurb to warrant the prices they charge. Very Very disappointed - There are much better hotels around

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds. I stayed in a room in an annexe and my check-in would have been a better experience if someone had shown me to my room instead of dragging my cases back and forth until I eventually had to return to reception to get further instructions. The bedroom was smaller than I expected and not to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bill was more than I had been quoted when I first booked and the invoices were not clear. I had called and increased my booking from one room to two but because I had spoken to the hotel directly and not amended the booking though Hotels.com I was given a poorer deal on the second room. Lovely Easter lunch.

When we arrived in reception the duty staff member was very friendly and polite. We were given a free upgrade so that we had a little more space in the bedroom. Throughout the stay all staff encountered were very helpful and attentive to any needs we had.

We were greeted with a very unfortunate welcome from the concierge desk. On asking if the rooms we had booked have baths the concierge told me to go and look for myself. On checkout the same gentleman attempted to double charge us for breakfast (which was very sub- par).

I had an experience when l checked in the first day but the Manager Mr Patel managed to sort everything out the next day. He went out of his way to make sure that l was comfortable and catered for on a highest level. My whole experience was the most beautiful , quiet, tranquil and the grounds were just what you need for a break lots of walks if you have time.

A one-night visit. Superb location. Attentive service in the restaurant for dinner. The menu was varied and well prepared and presented. Stayed at this hotel some 40 years ago, and it is still worth every star.

Such a peaceful relaxing place, so near to the bustle of Greater London. The gardens are superb, rooms good and staff helpful and friendly. Safe and ample parking and they even have a helicopter pad!

Clean and friendly, and a nice restaurant for dinner. We stayed in West Lodge Park Hotel for old time’s sake, as we used to live in London and attended a dinner+concert series there. It’s on a charming country-style estate, run by the same family, near Cockfosters Underground Station. So it’s within easy reach of central London. Trent Country Park next door has great walking trails for humans and dogs. West Lodge is a bit tired, but may be doing some renovations.

A little disappointed with our recent stay, mainly due to the quality of the restaurant. Service was very slow & the quality of the meal wasn't great. Plus, the selections on the menu were very limited. Especially as my wife has a Gluten intolerance, the choices were extremely limited, with many items on the menu not being available at all.

We were surprised to find that for breakfast on both days that they had run out of mushrooms by 8.30 am. The rails by the toilet in our room (23) were dirty and they were not wiped down during our 2 day stay. We find that once a hotel has a function on the residents take a back seat.

West Lodge is a beautiful property. It is quaint. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Everything is clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Great food choices and plenty of options.

This was a last minute stop whilst on business in the area, really good value for money, friendly staff, efficient service, great food. The setting is pleasant, convenient and in a very quiet location.

Old building but clean and comfy. I got a room with frost glass windows as the window is facing next door building with sanitary pipes, electrical cables, etc. Food in the hotel restaurant was of poor quality. Got a fried chicken a la carte which was fried some days ago and re heated along with vegetables. So if you have some level of taste do avoid. Waiter drops plates on the table in a way I have never sees before. Breakfast pretty decent choice of foods.

Cadre très agréable bénéficiant d'un très grand arborétum à visiter impérativement. Un grand bravo à toute l'équipe tant côté petit déjeuner que celui de l'accueil et le service des chambres. Personnel très dévoué et professionnel.

West Lodge Park used to be a top quality hotel but in the challenging years since the pandemic it has slipped somewhat. Staff are all excellent and very helpful but the bedroom decor and maintenance of bedrooms/en suites has declined unfortunately. The bar area is currently being redecorated so hopefully that'll be an improvement. We no longer eat breakfast there as it's now not cooked fresh to order (buffet style hot food only) and is overpriced too. I do hope that they'll begin a program of refurbishment for the bedrooms/en suites very soon. We still use WLP hotel as there are very few alternatives.

Old world hotel not updated in many many years. In adequate air condition , horrible bathrooms , threadbare carpet. Just old and uncared for. Certainly not a 4 star as claimed.

The hotel grounds are lovely, the front desk staff are a delight and couldn't be nicer. The rooms are the complete opposite. So incredibly outdated, dirty and the hotel needs some serious investment to bring the rooms into the 21st century and change most of it's cleaning staff, especially those that scream and shout at each other outside of the rooms. We stay there as it's close to where family live but will be looking elsewhere in the future as the rooms are just the worst.
