Really excellent stay in suite room. They can add beds for extra guests in living area. Also very comfortable sofa and can get extra duvet. Main bedroom in suite really super : so comfortable and quiet with plenty of space and super size bed. Great bathroom and good linen but no bath. I’ve stayed in Raintree many times in standard deluxe rooms but this suite was exceptional and not too expensive compared to other normal rooms in 5stars hotels in Chennai, but way better. I’ve stayed in most of Chennai 5 stars in last 15 years. Breakfast and dinner buffet also way better than most of 5 star hotels. So delicious and great staff. Only two downsides. This hotel used to have a nice roof top pool with Buddha statue at one end and was very peaceful. Now they have made the pool smaller and removed the Buddha to add more restaurant tables. Very sad. Now like kids paddling pool. Swimming not possible now. Also management need to check all bookings clearly as tried to deny me dinner buffet and guests happy hour drinks I had already paid for. No apology from manager afterwards, or after hotel fire alarm went off in early hours! Did give a few hours late checkout after requesting it. Much appreciated as room so comfortable! With massive TV. Like own cinema. Overall highly recommend suite if a few guests. Make sure to get dinner and happy hours package for all guests on Hotels.com. And bring copy of booking. Very good value. Highly recommended overall.

Stairs comfortable. Delicious food! Had happy hour as part of room package which was great! Rooftop bar has amazing views! Some of the friendliest staff, I have come across! Area around the property is so-so .. Quite crowded, barely any space on the sidewalks to walk (you end up walking on the road along with crazy traffic!) .. There is some huge construction going on right next-door, which will probably go on for the next couple of years (full block size, laying foundation), can get a little noisy during the day, but they generally shut down after 10 PM except for some truck movement & deliveries during the night.

Loved this hotel! We got a lot of room for our money due to the exchange rate. Our accommodations and the hotel property were beautiful and comfortable. Most of all we felt safe and quickly learned we could eat or drink anything at the hotel. There are three restaurants, but we only made it to two. We ate at those two several times and had great meals. The breakfast buffet at The Colony had changing options and lots to offer. They had both Indian and continental basics made to order also included. Above Sea Level at night had great ambience and a view of Chennai with stellar food to go with it. The rooms included plenty of bottled water that was actually fresh and sealed—not that we needed it for brushing teeth but it was nice to have for daily excursions in the heat. Other hotels in India that we stayed at filled up glass bottles with (presumably) tapwater. Depending on the hotel, that might be fine, but it might not. It’s a more intimate boutique hotel but they offered everything you could need: a small gym, pool and business area as well as room service and laundry services. The staff was friendly and attentive. They are award-winning for a reason!

A little haven in the bustle of Chennai and walking distance (30 minutes) to the main temple, but tuk tuks are plentiful although suggest you negotiate the price before you get in as we did get ripped off a couple of time (they are great fun though and a good way to get around). Lovely sized rooms; very clean and comfortable bed. We stayed in rooms on the south side of the hotel (on the left-hand side when looking at the hotel from the road) as there is a massive construction project on the north side, which I suspect would be very noisy - so perhaps enquire if you book. Very friendly staff throughout, and very helpful albeit a bit slow at breakfast. Very good food at The rooftop restaurant but you might need to book a table as they did try to put us inside! Rooftop also has a swimming pool but really not worth bothering with - looked very murky - but good views from there.

All good. Exactly as advertised. Breakfast was a bit chaotic when they were busy (avoid 8-9), otherwise all good. Dinner on the roof was a little pricey for Chennai (especially wine as they only offer imported, no Indian) but very enjoyable with great views. The rooftop pool was a very welcome way of cooling off.

Internet did not work for 90% of our stay. The couple of times it did work, it was extremely slow. Their rooftop restaurant was blocked for some party the 2 times we tried to eat there. They have no 24 hour restaurant. So no food outside of their limited hours. Gym is not 24 hours which is inconvenient for international travelers to stick to a routine. Their pool was pretty dirty and had lots of men in there most of the time. Too small of a pool. Staff were very nice and polite. They cleaned the room whenever we had requested.

The staff at the St. Mary's location are outstanding. I could not have asked for a better experience. All guests are treated like VIPs. The facilities are well designed and the elegant rooftop terrace allows you to see the city at night. Also, the food here is excellent; the buffet breakfast exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel was so wonderful. It is a definite for anyone staying in Chennai. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel pampered. Uma and Ritu were so lovely and helpful every time I had a question or needed something. Dhanush, Hemrat and Dinish were also helpful making sure I was able to book tours through the hotel. The three restaurants on site were equally tremendous and made it hard to choose every time! The included breakfast buffet was the perfect way to start the day. I also appreciate all the five star servers, Pretty, Annie, Pranay, Dinesh, Benita and Marisa. And Santosh always welcoming and kind when returning to hotel or on our way out. This is a boutique hotel where they care for their clients like family! Almost forgot the amazing rooftop pool with beautiful views of the city! Such a great hotel.

Had an excellent stay at this property, the room were well decorated, impeccably clean with nice amenities, glad to see Nespresso coffee machine. The staff were very attentive and courteous, ate at all three restaurants, food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely stay again here

Really enjoyed our stay here. Hotel is very clean and rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Hotel has 3 very nice restaurants and the rooftop restaurant for dinner is a must, the Chennai skyline is gorgeous from up there and the live music was great. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet - ton of variety. And staff was fantastic, they were extremely accommodating! St. Mary’s road is a very pleasant part of Chennai. Would absolutely stay again.

I was here for 5 nights and enjoyed the stay immensely. Staff were very helpful when I had an issue with my door; an engineer was called immediately and the problem fixed. Very safe area and an nice atmosphere in the hotel. The hotel is spotless, and staff are friendly and welcoming. I used the gym everyday where fresh towels and water were provided. I think my favourite thing of all was the breakfast buffet, full of healthy options and many dishes to choose from. I didn't want to leave!

Hotel and room was clean and staff were really helpful and friendly. There a lot of trendy restaurants and coffee shops in the area. We spent Christmas at the hotel and paid for the Christmas brunch which was well worth it and didnt dissapoint

A good location for me. The staff were, as always, very helpful and friendly. The buffet food in the Colony restaurant was good. The rooms are generally clean and comfortable, although on this occasion I found that some of the electrical sockets did not work and the telephone was offline. Neither of these were critical, but I would have expected everything to be in working order.

This is our second visit, the staff also has been refreshed, however, the service, courtesy and kindness was there as per last year. Rooms were clean, bathroom similarly cleaned everyday. Enjoyable stay.

Hotel breakfast was a good spread, with some new dishes changing daily over the course of my 6 days there. Restaurant staff were very helpful. Rooms were nice and spacious. Check-in/out process was smooth. Concierge and reception staff were very helpful. Location wise was quite ok for us cos we took Uber everywhere. Mostly everywhere we went was within 30mins including T nagar, airport, Pondy bazaar. There was this particular counter staff by the name of Ritu who went out of her way to help arrange some logistics for us even though she didn’t need to. Commendable indeed.

Main bedroom in suite really super : so comfortable and quiet with plenty of space and super size bed. Great bathroom and good linen but no bath. I’ve stayed in Raintree many times in standard deluxe rooms but this suite was exceptional and not too expensive compared to other normal rooms in 5stars hotels in Chennai, but way better. I’ve stayed in most of Chennai 5 stars in last 15 years. Breakfast and dinner buffet also way better than most of 5 star hotels. So delicious and great staff. Only two downsides. This hotel used to have a nice roof top pool with Buddha statue at one end and was very peaceful. Now they have made the pool smaller and removed the Buddha to add more restaurant tables. Very sad. Now like kids paddling pool. Swimming not possible now. Also management need to check all bookings clearly as tried to deny me dinner buffet and guests happy hour drinks I had already paid for. No apology from manager afterwards, or after hotel fire alarm went off in early hours! Did give a few hours late checkout after requesting it. Much appreciated as room so comfortable! With massive TV. Like own cinema. Overall highly recommend suite if a few guests. Make sure to get dinner and happy hours package for all guests on Hotels.com. And bring copy of booking. Very good value. Highly recommended overall.

Internet did not work for 90% of our stay. The couple of times it did work, it was extremely slow. Their rooftop restaurant was blocked for some party the 2 times we tried to eat there. They have no 24 hour restaurant. So no food outside of their limited hours. Gym is not 24 hours which is inconvenient for international travelers to stick to a routine. Their pool was pretty dirty and had lots of men in there most of the time. Too small of a pool. Staff were very nice and polite. They cleaned the room whenever we had requested.

Lovely hotel in a quiet area in Chennai. We arrived on a flight at 5am and we booked hotel taxi to pick us up. When we arrived at 6am they kindly let us leave our cases and said they would work to get us an early check in so we went out for a walk and a spot of breakfast and when we came back at 9am they had our room ready for us. Had an excellent stay at this property, the room were well decorated, impeccably clean with nice amenities, glad to see Nespresso coffee machine. The staff were very attentive and courteous, ate at all three restaurants, food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely stay again here

A little haven in the bustle of Chennai and walking distance (30 minutes) to the main temple, but tuk tuks are plentiful although suggest you negotiate the price before you get in as we did get ripped off a couple of time (they are great fun though and a good way to get around). Lovely sized rooms; very clean and comfortable bed. We stayed in rooms on the south side of the hotel (on the left-hand side when looking at the hotel from the road) as there is a massive construction project on the north side, which I suspect would be very noisy - so perhaps enquire if you book. Very friendly staff throughout, and very helpful albeit a bit slow at breakfast. Very good food at The rooftop restaurant but you might need to book a table as they did try to put us inside! Rooftop also has a swimming pool but really not worth bothering with - looked very murky - but good views from there.

All good. Exactly as advertised. Breakfast was a bit chaotic when they were busy (avoid 8-9), otherwise all good. Dinner on the roof was a little pricey for Chennai (especially wine as they only offer imported, no Indian) but very enjoyable with great views. The rooftop pool was a very welcome way of cooling off.
