On the whole my experience was as expected. However Friday nights and Saturday nights are horrible for guests staying towards the outgate side of the hotel. The discount music cannot only be heard but also felt in the room until wee hours of morning. That's very disturbing and irritating. Have stayed in Many hotels aroundbthe globe who hosts for a night club but never experienced such nice in guests rooms.

Nous avions choisi cet établissement essentiellement pour son espace piscine car Chennai est limité en point d'intérêts et ses plages ne sont pas du tout appropriées à la détente. Quelle ne fût pas notre surprise de constater qu'elle était en travaux depuis avril sans que bien évidemment nous n'en soyons avertis. De plus cet hôtel est loin des critères d'excellence d'un 5 etoiles à part le prix ! Mauvaise insonorisation de la chambre certes particulièrement spacieuse. Personnel très agréable et souriant mais pas du tout formé pour les exigences attendues d'un 5 etoiles. Une salle de sport non pourvue de vestiaires ni de douches : bonjour l'hygiène quand on passe de la salle de sport à la piscine qui la jouxte !! Tout simplement inconcevable sauf ... ici. Alors certes le hall est digne d'un 5 étoiles mais c'est le seul élément. Sincèrement au même prix, il vaut mieux étudier d'autres options. Je pense par honnêteté que si l'espace piscine avait été disponible mon commentaire aurait été moins dur même si je maintiens mes réserves

Stayed for a week in Chennai to visit friends and see the city. Hotel is first rate but asked advice at reception and it wasn’t good. Felt like the prices for anything in the bar was a rip off.

Food was great. Service staff always cheerful. Property is a bit run-down and seems to have multiple renovation projects going on. I was check-in to suite which had murky black water coming out of the wash basin. Hotel explained some issue with pipe flushing and offered me an upgrade. Water was initially brown from the rain shower, which i decided not to use. But the shower itself was an unpleasant and unsafe experience. The mixer would not work. so the water was scalding hot or unpleasantly cold. the pressure was low so the water did not reach the person standing in front of it. after multiple service requests, was give another change of rooms. Third time lucky, the room was good. but the water pressure with the shower and the mixer issue remained pretty much the same. The hotel has to fix their plumbing stat! Otherwise overall an average experience the staff were friendly but ineffective. Expedia did not manage to get my room reservation amended from before i checked in:(

Beautiful Hotel, a safe refuge from the hustle and bustle of Chennai. Amazing breakfasts. Lovely toiletries. Tranquil. Luxury. Overall it was a great stay. My only criticisms are: (i) sometimes we didnt have enough towels or bathrobes, (ii) double check if you need something delivering as there was some miscommunication between reception and security, (iii) room walls are quite thin - was woken up by my neighbour receiving multiple phone calls and taking them all on loudspeaker.

1. This property has gotten worse since my first visit about 2 years ago. 2. Though it bears the Taj name, that's where all semblance of an association to the brand stops. 3. Location is good in terms of surrounding areas - malls and shopping within walking distance. 4. Rooms did not feel all that clean - shower doors don't stay closed properly hence water goes everywhere, and the floor towel is consistently soaking. 5. Inconsistent water pressure and dips in hot water supply. 6. Pillows vary in terms of firmness by a great deal. 7. Restaurant - taste is so-so. Nothing to shout about. 8. Staff seem overworked - and therefore not driven to do more than the minimum. I asked a staff member for juices at breakfast - I was told they had some standard offerings. Moments earlier, they offered another guest a special blend. When I mentioned this, the person said yes we have it. So I asked for this. What I received some time later is just one element of the mixed juice because they were out of the other 2 items - the least you could do is ask me if I would be okay with that? Not just chuck something at me. 9. Simple things like butter does not come in sealed packets - instead you spoon it from a big blob by the bread counter 10. Fixed position showerheads - no hand shower

Although staff was amazing, the food/tea/coffee weren't even on par with what you can get at local restaurant. For five star I would expect better food. The rooms are also quite old fashioned and the washroom has fake peel on stickers on the class to hide the outside which they could have done better interiors for. Not 5 star quality.

The staff were great with their excellent and proactive service. Likewise the breakfast spread was impressive. However, I cannot say that of the property. The room we had was rather dated and the bath and sanitary fittings have seen better day. These are issues that were not in line with the high standards expected of the Taj brand. One particular issue which I found rather irritating was the shower. Firstly there is only one shower head and no hand held shower or tap. Furthermore the shower head was positioned so high that it could be challenging for a shorter person to reach. A pail and scoop was provided, but how do you fill the pail up with just the sole shower head. The shower head was stiff to adjust too, just like the washbasin tap. The kerb to the shower area was also set too high, resulting in I hitting my foot against it. Otherwise, the stay was nice. Thank you.

Even though we informed them about our late arrival, they were totally unprepared! We had booked 3 non-smoking rooms with king beds in each room, and were offered 3 rooms with twin beds in the only smoking floor!!! After a long and tiring journey, we spent an unnecessary amount of time trying to find other rooms. They did move us the next day while we were out, but a floor above a smoking floor did little to stifle the smell! Breakfast was decent, and once our plight reached the right ears, they were very apologetic! An experience bad enough that we wouldn’t stay at this property again!

I had booked a 6-night stay for my father and uncle, who had come to Chennai for a doctor visit. They had to leave early due to certain unavoidable circumstances back home. They checked out after staying 3 nights at the hotel. The hotel refused to give us any refund for the remaining 3 nights! We (Expedia agents and I) made multiple calls to the hotel requesting refund. This is a great way of making money in the *short term*, but also a great way to lose reputation and goodwill in the *long term*! I wouldn't stay here ever, and wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everything was great during our stay, hotel is in a very good location, it is a very nice clean property, staff service was great. One of the staff Rehana went out of her way and helped us with renewing our phone sim package using an app on her phone, our special thanks to her We enjoyed our style greatly and would have never hesitation in staying at this hotel again. Check in was efficient though not particularly warm or welcoming. Taj group needs to consider installing larger screen TV as the current TV size is rather small. Need to install soap dispensers rather than using soap tablets which would be cheaper in the long term and much more hygienic.

In the heart of Mount Road. Very close to the large (however now a bit old) mall. Walkable to Geetham restaurant and other restaurants at the mall if you get tired of the restaurants at the hotel.

I had a comfortable stay here. No complains at all. The staff were professional and very courteous. If at all I have to say, it's the buffet breakfast. There was no change in the spread and was almost same day after day. Other than that I was happy overall.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Any request made was taken care of within a matter of minutes,even in the middle of the night. Loved their breakfast buffet - personal favourites were poori, pongal, aloo paratha, Berliner, tiramisu, water melon juice, baked yogurt (the best ever) and filter coffee. Stay was very convenient with accessibility to express avenue mall at a walkable distance for shopping as well as key institutions like Citibank, state bank and LIC where I had appointments. A couple things that caused inconvenience personally and this is no way related to the service - is that outside humidity affected the room environment. It would have been awesome to have a dehumidifier in the room to get rid of the icky sticky feeling. During the morning hours there was smell of the sewer that seemed to waft in through the ac vents for a short minute everyday. There was no place to dry wet towels and the weather made it impossible to dry them in the room. A basic drying rack would come in handy atleast for long stay guests. I had to change bathroom linen everyday as they would never dry. Overall a very comfortable stay with excellent staff and great food options. Cost effective too so I did not need to break the bank to stay at the hotel for 7 nights. Would highly recommend. Thank you for the great experience!
