This is undoubtedly the worst hotel we've stayed in. When we arrived (parking is awful, by the way, so we opted for one of the two private spaces right outside the bar. £8 for the privilege) we were unable to check in via the main entrance and had to go in via the bar at the side, which was unattended. They put us in a dilapidated ground floor room at the front which was too hot so we had the window open all night, which gave us access to every noisy drunk who wandered past shouting and banging the bins. ALL NIGHT! The hotel has a restaurant, apparently, but we weren't able to sample their culinary delights because the cook wasn't in that night. So McDonald's to the rescue. The room (no.4) has the main entrance doors against one wall and the staircase against another, so we were also treated to the door banging and thumping up and down stairs, into the early hours. What with that and the couple in the room above us (we assumed it was a couple) engaging in some kind of sex marathon made for a noisy evening with a cacophony of thumping from every direction. To top it all off, our dog woke us at 5:30 growling at the window, so I opened the curtains to witness a bloody great rat jumping off the window sill onto the wall outside. So in summary, despite being reasonably priced, handy for the tunnel and Abbeywell vets (AHC provider) we will NOT stay here again.

Great budget hotel for events at the Leas Cliff Hall. Adjacent to the Skuba bar. Friendly and helpful staff.
