Best Western Kincardine

Breakfast was ok. Coffee is not good. Very weak. The room was partially clean though. The sink was dirty in the kitchen area, it has dishes left in it and in the dishwasher as well which has not been run. The table had not been wiped and the floors were sticky. It does have a full size fridge which was very cold and clean. There are minimal dishes. But we were not using the kitchen so it did not matter to us. The room is sizable, lots of closet room and the price point was good. The TV was big and easy to work. The air conditioner worked well. The beds were comfy and clean. The bathroom was clean. We did not use the shower. It was very quiet and we felt very safe. For convenience and safety and excellent ample parking we would stay again. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Good value, very good staff, gym not entirely functional

The staff were all very pleasant at the front desk. They were so pleasant and happy to speak with you. The senior Manager was most helpful in telling us directions etc., The outside is your first impression and it needs a bit of cleaning up a simple brush would do wonders before you go in the front door. They also need a good wash down when you look up its all cobwebs. Some flowers in the buckets at the front would make a seem brighter. Other than that the breakfast was very nice and an excellent selection for young and old.

The 'gym' is a small collection of tired equipment

Older building, so not top of the line amenities. Breakfast was good, room was clean, quiet, and air conditioned with controls in the room. It would be appreciated if you could make the hotel just a little more accessible: a power assist on the back door from the parking lot and a ramp at the stairs down to the lobby would have been a big help to us, as my mother uses a walker.

Parking lot needed maintenance. Elevator floor had something spilled on it and was not cleaned the whole time we stayed

It was a very good stay though the hotel could use updated and freshened up. The parking lot needs to be repaved.

The property seems to be under renovation. There no functioning fitness centre, business facilities, or other typical hotel amenities. Front entrance under construction and the way parking is configured some spots are impeding driving in and out ofbthe property. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean and updated.

Had an issue with noisy guests late at night and the front desk took care of it immediately. Much appreciated. The fitness center was small with broken machine.

My room dirty, ponytail elastics on carpet, sand in bed, hair in and on tub, dirty and moldy bathroom floor, sink drain had mold around it, holes in curtains, noise from above and beside me, drink splash on bathroom door, this room had not been up to advertised cleaning and sanitation practices, i wished i could have been refunded, $200 a night, what a waste of my money, very unhealthy breakfast selection and instant coffee, do not recommend, won't be back and will let people know, doesnt represent best western

Smelly stained sheets. Floor needs a good wash washing. Front desk needs a happy pill.

Room was neglected, not cleaned for 5 days, nothing restocked (clean towels, toilet paper, Kleenex etc). Hallways dirty with food crumbs all the time, washer and dryer do not function properly at all even for a small load. Not well kept. Leaking heater/ac unit, they mopped and tossed a bucket underneath and were not concerned about it. Continental breakfast was okay, location was good.

This hotel was okay. Check-in was easy and the bed was comfy. But the hotel was pretty dirty! The hallways looked like they hadn't been vacuumed for several days and there was hair all over our bathroom and stuff on the walls.

Parking was easy to find at this property. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. And at first glance, the room itself seemed great. If staying for a couple of days, it would be handy to have the in-room kitchen, which does come complete with all amenities, except for a dish towel. However, the level of cleanliness was lacking. When we took a shower we noticed the shower doors were filthy. Soap scum hadn't been washed off. There were a few bars of old soap in the shower that had been left from the previous guests. One of the holders (for shampoo) had come off the wall and just left on the counter. The air vent, which is right above your head when at the sink, is filthy. And when I was standing at the mirror to the left of the bed, I could see dirt and spider webs in the corner of the wall, all the way up to the ceiling. The manager should be conducting spot checks, to ensure the rooms are properly cleaned. Really not acceptable. The breakfast was very mediocre. We could only stomach one day. No fruit or pastries (other than bread and bagels). The jars of add-ons for the oatmeal did not look clean. The eggs were disgusting. The bacon, sub-par. I don't usually expect much from these breakfasts, but I was still very disappointed.

We stayed 3 nights. The carpet was dirty and stained. The room had a funny smell. The lack of housekeeping was not mentioned upfront, and we were told that to have our room cleaned, we needed to tell the front desk(after leaving the please clean room tag on the door all day) the night before, because of lack of staff.

I stayed here in 2021 and it was clean and inviting. When I booked it this time, it felt like a completely different experience. Room was filthy, the floors had visible debris on them and the toilet seat and shower floor were soiled. The smoke detector was ripped off the ceiling and left on a shelf with the wires still hanging. Very disappointed to see the condition of this hotel. The gentleman at the front desk was pleasant, that's the only good thing I have to say about my stay.

Water had not been mopped up between beds or in the bathroom. Under the beds had not been cleaned, other people's stuff under the them.Doors are not sealed you can hear everyone else closing their doors and hear the people above walking .

The common areas were poorly maintained, dirty carpets, and smelly. The room was dirty, and seemed to be not properly cleaned. The bathroom had stained walls and ceiling. It smelled of old cigarettes even though it was supposed to be a non smoking room. The pictures online were very decieving. There was exposed wire on the floor from the AC unit. Luckily we only had to sleep there and then get out ASAP in the morning.

Enjoyed the stay. We could hear cars outside and the air conditioning was loud. It was a spacious room and the staff were lovely.

Excellent stay. Suite Room had a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher & microwave. The room was very clean. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable. This room faced a road and traffic noise could be heard. Ear plugs worked perfectly to silence the traffic noise. The walk-in shower floor was slippery. A rubberized mat would be beneficial. Notified staff of this concern.

It to me was a quite dated facility. Needs updating Could hear all footsteps from floor above. No soundproofing Doors have a sizeable space all around so you hear everything in hallways. On the good end nice to have microwave and fridge in room

Outdated interior. Some items in the room did not work. Air conditioner was unusually loud.

The room was clean. The bed comfortable. The room was too hot even with the window open.

1- Ongoing renovations had caused noise in the room. 2- Room HVAC fan's sound was too loud. I was not sleeping well.

While there was free Wifi, it was very weak. Also the TV seemed to have frequent gaps and stops.

This hotel is old and the rooms are very small. The walls are thin and the room was very noisy. We would not stay here again.

Only complaint is I could hear all the rooms above very thin walls/ceilings and the doors slamming early in the morning when people leaving room. Tongue in the door does not allow a smooth closing of the door. The doors had to be slmost slammed in order to close fully.

The rooms have been given some attention, and our room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. But the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way, and the carbon monoxide detector was missing (with wires hanging out). The breakfast was, honestly, one of the worst I've had in a hotel. The egg-things and sausage had no flavor. The pancakes and muffins were burned. Aside from the clean room, the one saving grace for this place was the price...about $100 less than the new hotel across the street. I would probably stay here again because I'm cheap, but only if for one night.

We arrived and found a dirty towel in the bathroom hanging...we ignored it...figured it happens...at 10pm myself, wife and 3 year old are in bed sleeping when a family of 5 comes into our room. I get out of bed and stop them from entering. They showed me their room keys and they had the same room #. The front desk gave them the same room as us when we had just checked in 3 hours prior. This family told me they would go to the front desk and clear it up. Front desk then calls our room which woke our 3 year old and told me to "hang on" and then hung up on me. I went down to the front desk to see what was going on and get an explanation and i got a half hearted apology from a very scared and seemingly incapable staff. This staff asked me to sign off on a new registry for the room which i did. The next morning i explained what happened to the staff and i got "im sorry that happened, last nights staff was new. Here is your bill" Horrible experience. Did not feel safe throughout the night.

The woman at the front desk was totaly rude when I asked if they had any Band-Aids, she rudely responded NO with a nasty attitude and demeanor You would think Best Western would keep a supply of some first aid items for the guests

The room itself, was fine, but the hallways looked as though the rugs had not been vacuumed in quite some time. Not sure why they put signs on the front doors asking guests to use the back entrance - strange way to treat your guests, especially since the front doors were propped open! The problem with using the back door, which does not lock, is that it is where the smoking area is - directly beside the door. Again, shocking and disgusting to treat your guests this way. The breakfast, which was included, was mediocre at best. The front desk help was mostly not there. Called the front desk multiple times from my room - no one ever answered the phone.

I was sadly disappointed. For some reason, the batteries in the hallway smoke detectors kept running out. One of the nights one of the detectors beeped every 30 seconds all night. Seconly, on my second day there, they completely blocked off the front entrance. We couldn't get into the normal parking. It would have been simple to leave a little note in our rooms telling us of the reno and pointing us to the new parking and the right entry. I ended up at 5 doors, with my hands full of heavy packages before landing on the right one. It's just poor customer service. However, I do have to say that Gail and the staff were very nice.

Room was adequate for the price. Quiet and comfortable. Gail at the front desk is very nice and friendly.

I adored my check-in with Lori! She was friendly and helpful and has assured me that a guest arriving later will have everything they need to have the same "smooth sailing check in" experience as I did. My room is comfortable and spacious and I am impressed by how quiet this hotel is -- there are no sounds of slamming doors or hallway noise. This is a clean and pleasant place to stay.

Good location. Easy to get to town and other villages.

Located on the edge of town, it is convenient to highways and large stores. Yet, it is very close to the quaint community of Kincardine.

It was easy access to the HWY and a short distance to the downtown area. We were happy with the staff. Plenty of parking.

Very quiet and close to food shopping and coffee shop

The location of the hotel is great. Close to lots of amenities. The hotel is dated and the property needs renovation. The room we stayed in was good. Large and spacious. It included its own kitchen. Happy that the floor inside the room was not carpet. Very impressed with the cost of the room on a Sunday night.

Comfortable stay. Comfortable beds and good pillows. We didn't know the room would come with a kitchen. It was a pleasant surprise. Nicely designed kitchen although the light under microwave didn't work so it was a bit dark. We did report it upon leaving so it is probably fixed now. Hotel is close to shopping and some restaurants and a short drive to beach and other restaurants.

Room is clean and hotel is in the perfect spot if you are working in the area.

Great place to stay! Staff was helpful. The hot breakfast provided needed work.(bacon had a funny taste, pancakes came out of the machine a grey color so something must have been wrong with the batter). Love the area

They could consider extending dining hours when it's a long weekend. As it is a few clients presented about 20 minutes before the slated end of breakfast time. They were out of a few items and the staff refused to make more to accommodate the guests.....not cool at all. Thank goodness other restaurants outside the hotel were open.

This is the third time I stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious, the bed mattress is comfortable. The bathroom is clean. The room has a fridge and a small kitchenette area with a microwave. Overall this is a very good place to stay at. The only thing I would rank 3 out of 5 is the breakfast, which is a typical continental breakfast, but the quality of the hot food items such the scramble eggs, the potatoes and sausages, is really not appetizing. The coffee also is Nescafé machine.

The free breakfast was better than most free hotel breakfasts we’ve seen lately, simple but fresh and tasty, eggs on buffet were decent.
