Excellent location and very close to the beach. Hop on/off bus stop at corner of hotel. Staff is great, pool and gym/saunas are excellent. Breakfast buffet is worth the money.

Staff were endlessly helpful and the hotel was very clean. Beach view and access (across a couple of roads and past a sport complex) with some decent eateries on doorstep. Bed was very comfortable, with a pillow menu to fit tastes. Facilities were good for our purposes, in terms of gym, bars, terrace, and a small rooftop pool (doesn't fit many people, so difficult to get in when hotel has guests looking to use it). Water pressure was very low, shower was underwhelming. Room decor showing age (scuffed walls, minor damage to tiles on wall/floor) though nothing serious.

Es wurden Touristensteuer erhoben welche am Anfang zwar genannt wurden jedoch nicht dessen Höhe. Für ein 4 Sterne Hotel und zu diesen Preisen musste man auch 20€ Parkgebühren zahlen was unserer Meinung nach zu hoch war .

This hotel a great find. It was extremely clean and modern, the staff were all lovely and I couldn't have had a better stay. The hotel itself is really convenient to the beach and the Mar Bella sports centre (the reason for my trip) as well as the Diagonal Mar shopping mall. Breakfast was really nice with a lot of options and overall I was very happy with my stay.

Unser vier-tägiger Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war leider eine große Enttäuschung. Gleich zu Beginn mussten wir 2x das Zimmer wechseln, was fast einen Tag unserer kostbaren Urlaubszeit in Anspruch nahm. Im ersten Zimmer funktionierte der Fernseher nicht, und die Dusche ließ sich erst nach etwa zehn Minuten regulieren. Zudem war es im ersten und zweiten Obergeschoss extrem laut, und die Zimmer waren schlecht gereinigt. Das zweite Zimmer bot direkten Poolblick, war aber noch lauter und fühlte sich an, als würde man direkt am Pool wohnen. Das dritte Zimmer hatte zwar funktionierende Geräte, aber es wies Wochen alte Spinnweben, fremde Haare im Sanitärbereich und beschädigtes Holz an Tür und Zarge auf. Die öffentlichen Bereiche des Hotels wirkten stark abgenutzt und waren ebenfalls schlecht bis gar nicht gereinigt. Während der Poolbereich sauber war, sorgte eine gegenüberliegende Mülldeponie für eine lästige Fliegenplage, die den Aufenthalt dort erheblich beeinträchtigte. Darüber hinaus waren die Handwerksarbeiten im Nachbarzimmer so intensiv, dass unser Bett regelrecht vibrierte. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt durch die ständigen Unannehmlichkeiten und den mangelhaften Service stark getrübt. Wir können dieses Hotel leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Staff was very nice and tried to accommodate us. Bed was comfy. The breakfast selection was good. The bacon and eggs were undercooked. We couldn’t get any English channels on the TV. But we didn’t complain about it until we checked out. Maybe it could have been fixed. There was a nice assortment of personal items (shower cap, sewing kit, shaving kit, dental kit, but no tissues. There was some black mold in the grout lines of the shower.

Omg I loved my stay here overall! Way more than my stay at Valencia. Staff were nice and friendly when we walked in. Once we got to our room it was very clean and had many amenities. We had an amazing beach view ! Definitely will be coming back :D

The staff was lovely and very generous. The room was great and the views were spectacular. The only complaint we had was that we were woken up every night but neighbours coming in at 2-3am. The walls are a bit thin and the adjoining door would make a Ioud noise every time they opened their front door.

The Occidental was a good stay for a short time, it was close to the beach and surrounding restaurants. The rooms seemed nice at first, however bedsheets were torn, and just general wear and tear around the room. The hot water stopped working one evening and the suggestion was to go down to the gym area to shower which wasn't ideal unfortunately, they said it happens sometimes however in our 4 night stay we only noticed it once. Other than that it was a decent short stay, close to metro, bus stops and restaurants!

Quick check in process, guy at the desk couldn't even be asked to talk or even ask a basic question like "how are you" as far as customer service goes, very polite tho, I also hold vip access and didn't get a room upgrade, havn't even been asked, matter of fact I received the smallest room ever and I stayed at this hotel many times in the past, very good location, wifi works fine, AC also. They have works on the side of the hotel and lunch time if you wanna sleep forget about it as its bare loud.

Alors que j'avais déjà réservé une nuit dans cet hôtel, où je n'ai pas pu dormir à cause d'un problème technique sur mon véhicule, deux jours plus tard, je souhaite réserver à nouveau dans cet hôtel, mon véhicule étant réparé et je me trompe de date. Je m'aperçois de mon erreur dans les deux minutes qui suivent. Or la Direction de cet hôtel n'a pas voulu décaler la nuitée d'un jour et j'ai été facturé entièrement. Aucune excuse, aucune explication, le médiateur d'Hotel.com n'a même pas pu s'expliquer au téléphone, le réceptionniste a coupé la communication, c'est totalement inadmissible. La Direction n'est pas du tout commerciale, c'est le moins que l'on puisse dire. Personnellement, c'est la première et dernière fois que j'e tente une réservation dans cet hôtel.

Customer focused service at its very best. I stay in approx 50 hotels a year with my work, but here i was with my wife for a long weekend. There was just something special about the attentiveness of the staff to ensure our stay was memorable and perfect. The breakfast, room comfort, cleanliness, location and just about everthing was faultless. Only wished we had stayed longer, and would definitely recommend and will return soon

Lovely hotel and room but the evening staff manager that checked us in made us feel really uncomfortable. Very surly, did not greet us well, did not listen to our request for quiet room and put us opposite lift, when requested to move told us they were fully booked but when challenged suddenly found a room. It’s a shame because all other staff we met were charming and helpful but this guy, did not come over very well at all. Great lady’s on reception and breakfast manager made my 50th birthday with a lovely cake. Lovely room and hotel otherwise.

Wonderful hotel with comfy beds and very good brekfast Short walk to the beach and a quiet part of the city (in the end of september). Platja Mar bella is less crowded than the beaches near La Barceloneta. 10-15min walk to the metro which takes you to the city centre.

Hotel is in a perfect area. Beach is right across the street. We spent the extra cash for the ocean view and it was worth it 😉 Comfortable bed and pillows. Pool is small but who needs the pool if there is a beach across the street. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a chef to make omelets or any style eggs you want. Would definitely come again. Thank you.

The hotel is located within walking distance from the beach and many beachside restaurants. Its location would be best in the summer in order to be close to the beach, however, it is about a 50 minute walk to downtown or about a 10 minute cab ride. Awesome gym, pool, and patio. Parking is 18 euro a night

This hotel is 500 yards from the beach and a 35 minute taxi from the airport. A 15 minute walk to the metro and then 7 minutes into Barcelona. It’s a good hotel with decent facilities. If your not bothered about being in the hussle and bussle of central Barcelona and don’t mind a short commute this is a viable option. Relatively well kitted out too. I come back at the right price.

This is an excellent hotel that has lovely spacious updated rooms, friendly staff, and a lovely pool. I highly recommend this hotel. The location is conveniently located in the Pueblenou area with lots of great restaurants, close to the metro, and steps to the beach.

Rooms had amazing views! If you have the option to book breakfast in advance, do it! If not it’s 20 Euros per day per person. Place was clean. The Hop on Hop off bus stops at hotel for easy way to get into city. PobleuNau neighborhood is close and has a lot of great restaurants and a cool vide. Easy access to beach. City center is about 10 min by taxi. Airport is 30 min by taxi. Hotel will do private airport transfer if you ask and was worth it for us.

Very well presented hotel, great staff, exceptional breakfast buffet. Disappointed no mini bar or balcony, pool area also closed so nowhere to sit, read outside. Located a good walk from city centre but plenty choice of restaurants in the locality, especially near the beach.

Hôtel très bien situé et personnel très professionnel et sympatique ! Nous avions pris l'option petit déjeuner qui était au top ! Petit hic sur la salle de bain, nous n'avions pas du tout de pression d'eau au niveau du lavabo et l'eau des WC ainsi que de la douche ne s'évacuait pas bien du tout. Bon séjour dans l'ensemble !

This is a good, average, comfortable choice. Nothing fancy, not extremely modern, nothing bad to say but nothing to make you say wow. It’s just a nice average place. The pool is pretty small. The breakfast and room service is very simple, very repetitive, very average. I would stay again if it’s reasonably priced but it’s definitely not a place you spend top dollar for.
