The room was different from the pictures; it didn’t have windows or sunlight at all. Upon check-in, we inquired about the availability of other rooms with windows as we had booked for 4 nights but the front desk staff repeatedly said “the hotel was fully booked, we checked-in late” without providing any supportive explanations, additional information (price differences, options, potential available rooms or dates that we could come back and inquire again, etc.) or making any further supportive effort or intention to help. I even thought the staff was a bit rude or intentionally assigned us to this damp shady room on the first floor. The rooftop pool didn’t even allow our own water I carried— a staff walked over from their bar/resto area to stop me as soon as I put out my water, which was a bit too much for hotel guests. For hotel guests, it should be open to at least allow own water to hydrate, if possible, I think. The location is very convenient, we loved the neighborhood. Everything we wanted to explore was walkable.

Great location, we were able to step outside and there were many options for dining and grab some drinks. Room was modern and it came with a great view. Rooftop bar is amazing, it also comes with a small pool but it does get crowded.

Rude staff and manager !breakfast are has cameras and they monitor how much you eat-portions really small -don’t recommend paying for it !Would never go back .Hotel is pretty nice but people that work there especially a man in breakfast area very mean .They tell you not to bring water or snacks to pool .So weird .I don’t recommend it at all!!

Friendly, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Really relaxed atmosphere. Didn’t feel rushed to get out, so could really enjoy chilling out. Great base for exploring, although I swear the shops moved around every night! Was always finding new places! Pool was available even though out of season, so not heated. I was still in for my daily dip!

Fantastic hotel is a great neighbourhood. Close to the main sites but also an upmarket local neighbourhood in its own right with plenty of lovely bars , restaurants and shops on your door steps - away from the main tourist bustle. Would definitely recommend and return. Roof top bar and pool were the icing on the cake.

Service war bis auf einen Arbeiter an der Rezeption ganz ok bzw. freundlich. Zimmer war nicht wirklich sauber, es lagen Härchen im Bad und auf dem Boden. Gelegentlich mal etwas laut gewesen vom Nebenzimmer aus und von draußen. Ansonsten ganz gut. Preis-Leistung aber nicht gerechtfertigt.

Lovely hotel conveniently located in a safe part of town. Plenty of dining options, activities and interesting things to see. Great shopping and accessible to public transportation. The property is immaculate and the service is second to none. The room was extra clean and the beds were so comfortable. Surprisingly the hotel was so quiet despite the bustling activities on the street lined with high class bars and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is located in the area we needed to be. It was very clean and comfortable. Personnel were welcoming and kind, and made suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. We had breakfast there every day: it was delicious!

The lobby man was very polite and helpful. However, the room is not extremely far from a 4 star hotel. It was a window towards a duct and elevator not outside!!!! Extremely noisy! With this price you can get a far better quality hotel.

Perfect stay after our cruise and the family room was the best set up for us traveling with two teen daughters. Shower pressure was amazing and bed super comfortable. Great location easy to walk to many attractions across the city. Rooftop was great setting for a cocktail before dinner.

Everything was great about this hotel but their internet service. It was horrible, it was buffering most of the time. I had to buy a Spanish number and use its internet services as a hotspot in order to keep my meetings on my actual phone.

I was greeted by Mark, super friendly and he remembered my name! The hotel is in an amazing location, soon as you step outside there’s so many dining options - restaurants, cafes, bars etc, all walking distance. The Sagrada Familia also took me only about 20 mins to walk to. The rooftop pool is kinda small, but it’s nice nevertheless and there’s a bar also on the rooftop with really friendly staff. The only downside I’d have to say is that the rooms are not soundproof and can hear the next rooms talking and laughing all through the night. But if I were to ever travel to Barcelona again, I think I’d consider staying again.

The property is nicely placed in the center with many dining options, attractions close by both walkable and easily accessible using taxi's. The taxi's were right outside the hotel. Staying on the lower floors facing the city bustle and being in the heart of town, you do get to hear some light people chatter if they are really loud but it did not bother me (heat sleeper) or my wife (very light sleeper). Only issue was with cooling in the room, even setting the temperature low to 17°C (approx 63°F) did not cool down the space sufficiently enough. Is a general problem in Spain hotels I presume. Had been 3rd hotel stay in 10 days and the same experience on the in room cooling.

This is an excellent hotel. Rooms are unusually spacious, similar to the size of North American size rooms. The bed is comfortable and actually a real king size. Shower is excellent! Air conditioning worked very well. Excellent coffee in the breakfast room. The in room coffee pretty good if you don’t mind pods.

Walking distance from all the major sites. Just on the edge of the city centre, so you can get away from the crowds. Staff is really helpful and friendly. Lent me a kettle so I could make my own tea. Recommend booking tickets to the major sights at the hotel. Fast, easy and convenient (no additional charge). Rooms are not sound proof, so it can be noisy at night. Not always a restful sleep because of all the noise from outside.

check in was with a arrogant rude guy, after 300 nights with hotel.com this was the worst check in ever.... I arrived on Thursday night at 10.30 after a long day and he just made it a really bad day.... apart from him the hotel is quite present in a great location... good sized rooms with fantastic shower, breakfast was good...

I was a bit disappointed when I asked for a coffee at the front desk in the morning and they told me that they dis not provided that and that I had to go tot the 5th floor to the restaurant. I did love the way that Hans greeted us excellent host!!! Thanks

The breakfast cost €14 a day and it is stale, poor quality with absolutely no service. you would be much better off to walk outside and eat from the large variety of cafe's and restaurants mere steps away. The room had a gross plumbing smell, which needed to be ventilated each time we entered and it is a drab brown color, everything brown. The rooftop is very nice but a friend came to visit there and they have a tiny dog and the restaurant staff ordered us to leave because of the tiny purse dog that can just sit in a bag, it was making no sound and bothering nobody. To be asked to leave by the place you are staying over something like that is a very poor experience. Obviously we went elsewhere for dinner and drinks and had a great time but overall the staff are brusque and snarky so you don't feel welcome or at home or comfortable. I don't know if I would recommend this place to anyone. It wasn't terrible but for the same money you can stay somewhere with a more comfortable and pleasant experience.

Excellent and welcoming staff. Loved the location, terrace on the rooftop, delicious and fresh breakfast. Perfect location to visit Barcelona architectural jewels. The ONLY THING, the first night the alarm went on around 5am for 3 hours. It woke me up and the entire HOTEL. The alarm went off only around 9h30 am. Those problems happen, but the fact that they did not offer ANY compensation of even a free drink was disappointed. Also I walk in the hotel one late night (4 am) and the door was lock (which is normal), but the clerk was so rude, impolite and obviously not smiling. Except those point, the hotel si great and well located. I would probably go back, but those 2 events left me with bitter taste.

Fantastic hotel is a great neighbourhood. Hotel America perfectly situated for our city break. Close enough to travel in to key attractions but far enough out that not surrounded by hustle and bustle of tourist areas. Breakfast service excellent and staff very friendly and attentive. We booked a junior suite for extra space as travelling with a child, room did not disappoint. View from window was pleasant. Cleaning of the room was the best we have seen, staff very attentive to small touches with folding nightclothes and placing cushions/my little boys teddy on the bed. Staff on front desk also super friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great stay. Bar/pool area very nice and relaxed, food very nicely presented and tasty. Prices were not too bad either. Stored our cases for us on the last day. Very impressed with this hotel.
