The Cordova Inn, a New Hotel Collection Property

It did not have an elevator. A/C window unit in room noisy. Claw foot tub without rubber bath mat or grab bars. I bought a mat. Additional resort fee seemed excessive. No parking or even reduced rate for guests.

Parking free in a garage around the corner, just enter your tag in the iPad at the front desk and you get validated. Room was a bit older, cracks in our sink and shower floor a bit worn but bed comfortable enough, mini fridge and microwave handy. Super convenient to Jannus Live and downtown nightlife, tons of restaurants and bars around!

Great location and happy with room. Hotel staff did a good job, but customer service after is horrible. Parking is supposed to be included. We were billed by the garage for parking. I have called (got voicemail), I sent an email to the hotel, I sent an email to Hotels.com and I sent a txt. No reply on any. Mistakes happen, but it’s hard to go back when you feel like you’re ignored. Beware.

No elevator if you can’t do steps

As so many others mentioned happened to them, I was told parking was complimentary. It was NOT. When I called to question the $68 charge on my bill, the manager HUNG UP ON ME. Yeh, left a real bad taste in my mouth. What a shame, cuz I liked the place. Oh, and sink didn’t really work.

Great service and hotel communications. Bar, happy hour and porch are fun. Room was on smaller side and AC a bit loud. Construction happening on side/back of hotel that startedat 8am and was loud. Walkable location to downtown, bars, water, etc.

Construction underway. Construction team started banging and moving equipment at 7:08 am Friday. Fire alarm went off at 2:38 a.m. Saturday, then again at 3:15 when the fire department arrived using sirens, then again at 6:30a.m. for some reason. Then again at 9:00 am. Staff confirmed it's an ongoing issue. Windows now dirty and blocked by construction activity. Rooms small. Towels a bit dirty and aged. Oh well. Seemed like a charming place to be.

Unique property in an excellent location. Hotel was within walking distance to many shops and restaurants as well as the Pier. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. The bathrooms are small (we had to move to a different room as the first room’s shower did not work). Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bar and outdoor seating were a nice perk for a small hotel. The history alone makes this hotel a fun place to stay. Parking garage is a little bit of a walk, and Google maps does not lead you to the correct place when you enter the garage address; so listen to the hotel staff when they give your directions! Overall this was a great stay for the price on the holiday weekend!

This property was built in 1912... before elevators and central AC was thing...wink, wink. The 3 flights of stairs weren't as daunting after we lugged the luggage up them and the AC wall unit kept it pretty cold. They are expanding and I'm sure the newer section will have all the modern bells and whistles. Parking is around the corner, but it is free for hotel guests...so there's the win there. Would I stay again? Yes! The price was right, the property's cute with a nice vibe, the staff was wonderful, and the location is in the heart of a bustling night life that's extremely walkable. Enjoy!!

Quaint, historical hotel in downtown St. Pete. Free parking at a nice garage less than a block away. Some construction going on now, so can be noisy during the day. Three floors but no elevator, so be prepared to climb stairs (not a problem for us). Cute coffee shop/bar. Stopped for drinks at night and the bartender was excellent. If you love historical buildings, this one is adorable. Loved the historical photography throughout.

The bathroom was not clean at all. There were dirty dried up spots on the floor. The shower was just awful. The shower curtain stuck to my arms. There was no place to put the soap and hair products except onto the sink and they would just fall into the sink. I would not stay here again.

We were I town for the Tampa Bay Blues fest. We checked in the afternoon and went to the festival in the Florida heat. Got back in the around 11 pm to find the shower didn't work and the sink barely drained. There was sharp broken tile on the bathroom floor and my wife cut her foot. After being outdoors all day, we badly needed a shower. We were unable to reach anyone about this. The front desk is unreachable by phone. Hotel rooms were scarce due to the blues fest. We were very fortunate to find a room at s much better hotel WITH A SHOWER. We have stayed at the Cordova Inn 3 times in the past. We will never go back.

This property is an old property and needed some upgrades and some fixes that didn’t really seem to matter to the management. Simple things like the lobby bathroom trashcan was overflowing for two days. The complementary water jug in the lobby was empty in the afternoon. It took three people to tell the bar staff before they would fill it. The bathrooms in the hotel rooms were absolutely horrid! They wouldn’t even classify as a closet. Two people could not stand in the bathroom at the same time unless one was in the shower. The biggest disappointment was there was construction going on adjacent to the building that they had purchased to expand the size of the hotel jackhammer and everything going on outside our window and this was never mentioned to us while we made the reservation before arriving, etc. The young staff for the most part were amazing. It just seemed like there was a lack of management and oversight.

So much construction outside of the window that we could not sleep in. Room was not properly cleaned before we arrived. Hair all over the floor and food in the refrigerator.

The property is in the process of renovation. All windows were blocked. It doesn't provide any housekeeping, and you have yo take out your own trash.

My room was gross. It stunk, it had a dirty little air conditioner that looks like it was 30 years old. It had a cracked window so it was very loud. The shower was 3' x 3' and very dirty. The entire property is disgusting. I would never recommend this property to anybody. I had a room reserved for two days and had to leave after one day. I could not sleep in that room again.

This is an old hotel whose staff and location won me over. Overall I was happy with my stay but it felt expensive for staying at an inn vs a traditional hotel. The bathroom smelled like mildew and the carpet had permanent stains that made me feel uncomfortable to walk barefoot. Despite those issues, the friendly staff, coffee/bar area, and location ended up being great for us.

We have stayed her before, but the place is definitely not in good shape. The availability of front desk workers and the hours that the coffee shop/bar is open is very limited. The walls are like paper and you can hear everything going on in the rooms nearby, the lobby and outside. I know they are building new rooms and I feel that is the reason the existing ones have lapsed into disrepair. We noticed that one of our windows has a bad termite infestation. The wood is literally turning into sawdust.

Black mold in bathroom, looks like 10 coats of paint on walls, windows painted shut, out let’s don’t work, no light bulbs in lamps, AC window units blades caked with dirt, old and decrepit……dingy, dingy, dingy. They moved us to a different room on the second night because I’m allergic to mold. The bathroom was better and did not have mold, but everything was still very dingy and rundown.

Outlook a car park so blinds were drawn all the time. Room 102 sink cracked,shower shelf broken and a hazard. Filters needed cleaning on AC. No housekeeping in three days so bin was overflowing. Staff wonderful and bed and bedlinen perfect.

The room didn’t quite meet expectations from the pictures. The furniture felt really shabby, there is no desk to work at and the bathroom was absurdly tiny. Sitting on the toilet I could rest my chin on the sink in front of the toilet. The biggest issue I had was the window ac unit. Had to keep it running the whole time to keep the room cool and this is in January. Even when it was cool, felt dank and humid. Would definitely not stay here again.

I was in St. Petersburg for a wedding on what turned out to be a very busy weekend. The hotel was conveniently located and very affordable. My main issue was noise, both from the window air conditioner and the street noise. My room was at the front of the hotel and there was a lot of noise. I would recommend a room towards the back of the hotel.

Great location, cool building, excellent staff. Nice lobby/bar area. Mediocre rooms, sometimes in need of repair - one of my windows was missing a large pane of glass that had been poorly repaired with plexiglass. Horrible bed and pillows.

Overall the stay was good. I knew it was a historic hotel so I always have an open minded view of what to expect. Everything was good with the exception that the room that I stayed in was the first room (Room 108) as you enter the hallway from the lobby. You can literally hear everything happening in the lobby. There's a small kitchen and a coffee shop right there. That was the only issue.

I enjoy boutique hotels with their quirks and imperfections -it's part of the charm. I also want to stress that this review has nothing to do with the current expansion construction occurring at the property. I have stayed at the Cordova previously and thought I understood what I was in for during the stay. The room was clean and tidy; however the remainder of the amenities were rubbish. The upstairs portion of the building does not have central HVAC, so they had fans all over the place to move the very humid air around. The rooms have window AC units, but they are old and no match for the humid Florida summers. There was a ceiling fan and auxiliary fan in the room, which made it tolerable and, in the evenings, easier to sleep. What made the stay unbearable was the bathroom. I cannot express how impossibly small the bathroom is and to use the toilet, which was merely inches from the sink, one had to snake into an S-curve to have a chance, and all the while have the sink directly in your face. The shower was barely large enough for a grown man and the water pressure was nil. I want to stress this -the water pressure was almost zero and the water temperature was either scaling or freezing -nothing in between. I resorted to lathering up in the sink and washing up with a washcloth. We have previously enjoyed staying at the Cordova, but it seems that the property owners are putting everything into their new expansion and letting the historic part of the building go to pot.

small room. smaller bathroom. I could barely fit in the shower. not for the larger man. parking is on the 6th level of parking garage with 6ft 5 in clearance.my truck barely fit. staff is nice and it wasn't a bad place to stay.

The property had some nice historic features and boogie areas, but there were many underwhelming things that overshadowed them. First it was under construction so the ground floor windows had blackout shades that could not be opened for daylight so you felt like you were in a small cave and there was a frefrigerator with a microwave sitting on top, just sitting on the floor, which felt like a college dorm room. The staff was a somewhat rude and not very welcoming.

Tiny bathroom - you might hit your head on the sink trying to wipe. Shower had less water pressurre than my 90 y/o grandpa trying to take a leak. Got a $55 ticket trying to drop off my luggage!!

This is a boutique hotel in every aspect! There are no modern amenities at all. No elevator, window unit air conditioners, no place to store your luggage or drawers to unpack. The claw foot tub is adorable but very inconvenient. The shower gel, shampoo, conditioner were on the back of the toilet because there is NO bathroom storage! Only a pedestal sink with no counter space, no where to put a bar of soap! I am glad we only stayed two nights. It looks like they are building a new boutique hotel Next-door but for now this is it! There was a small coffee maker, a microwave and a small refrigerator but they were plugged in to the loosest outlet I was scared to use it! Location is great very walk able! Unfortunately the inconveniences of no where to put clothes or suitcase, small not usable bathroom space for getting ready, and the dirtiest windows over ever seen makes this a place I will not return to!

Probably one of the most enjoyable stays I have had at any hotel. The general ambiance of the entire place is relaxing and welcoming. The cherry on top of my stay was the staff. They were so cool, nice & helpful. From Mr. Joshua checking on my ETA on the ride over, to checking in with Slav once I arrived who was so cool and welcoming. The staff had me smiling until I the time I checked out with Kayla. Anytime I am ever staying in St. Petersburg, it is the Cordova I will be calling home.

A complete failure in hospitality, avoid at all costs My partner and I arrived Friday for a special weekend, as I planned to propose. We noted this in our reservation. Instead of a memorable stay, we were met with neglect and unprofessionalism. The front desk attendant was on a personal call for three minutes before checking us in. Our room was unbearably hot, the AC barely worked, and the bathroom was covered in limescale. Hair from a previous guest was in the bed and shower. When we reported the heat, we were told to “give it time.” We tried, cold showers, lowering the thermostat, but it remained stifling. We left for dinner hoping it would improve. It didn’t. By 10 PM, there was no staff available to assist us. Some of my partner’s personal items were also missing from her bag. At 12 midnight, we gave up, booked a room at another hotel, and finally got working AC and basic cleanliness. We checked out the next morning. The room was still sauna-hot. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. We work in hospitality and expect the bare minimum, cleanliness, working AC, safety, and basic service. The Cordova Inn failed on all fronts. A full refund would be the least appropriate response. Until serious improvements are made, we strongly urge others to stay elsewhere.

I found the Hotel policy of the front desk closing at 6pm and opening at 10 am deplorable. Those are the only hours guests are not around. If you need help, and I did, after 6pm you are out of luck. Th hotel provides a phone number with the ominous warning if you call after hours make sure it is a real emergency. Guess what? Guests at almost every other hotel in the world have a front desk in which to ask simple questions of but not at Cordova, They want to only hear from you if it was an emergency. Complying with their request I did not have internet during my stay. Complicating my trip immensely. I will not stay there again.

When i booked. I immediately got a message from hotel to call asap to ensure reservation. They wnet over the same basic resevatio. Details that i had done onli e with expedia. Them about 3 days before my travel a persom who described herslef as my personal concierge called to confirm that i planned to keep reservation and went over the whole reservation needs with me. Arranged and early check in and fridge. Upon arrive the front deak never heard of her didnt have it set up for early check in nor was there a fridge. Room and garbage not dealth with for the entire 4 day stay.

Front desk had no staff member. Had to stand and wait in the very small lobby for someone to check us in. Staff was unfriendly and rude

Kayla at the check in was phenomenal!! The kind of customer service she provides is not found these days. We messed up during checkout and didn't get out car first from the parking garage and the 3rd party parking garage wouldn't let us leave without giving them more money, even though we had our receipt. Kayla left her desk and came down to the parking garage (1 1/2 blocks away)to personally make sure we were allowed to leave the garage without any further harassment from the parking garage operators. Can't say enough about Kayla and dedication to the guests she serves!!

Eli was amazing. He gave us great service and conversation at the bar. He gave us great recommendations for dinner. We love this hotel. Ariel was so kind at check-in. Thank you for a great stay!

The Cordova is a great hotel, it has a nice old world feel with all the modern conveniences that you might need. I found everything clean and the area quiet. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I’m looking forward to staying there again whenever I visit Tampa or St. Petersburg area

I have stayed at the Cordova a few times now. Everything was lovely except the housekeeper walking in the room without even knocking.

To start you will get several pushy phone calls to attend a membership seminar to join while you are staying there. Check in is a two hour window. 4-6. We checked in at 6:30 and they just leave your key out. You need to pay at a parking garage down the road and figure out the reimbursement when you checkout. We got in our room and there weren’t blinds on the windows. We tried calling the emergency line and they said there was nothing they could do. They said they were at full capacity and I shouldn’t have booked with a third party. The next morning after we hung towels over the windows they moved our room. They don’t actually rent bikes like it says. They are in the middle of a renovation. There are much better hotels in the area.

We found this gem! The Cordova Inn. A historic hotel (1920\'s) nestled in defiance, among the new and modern St. Pete structures. This stay was extra special. Among its charm and quaint atmosphere, we were transported to old Florida. Do not expect the amenities of a big hotel chain, a plus for me! Instead, seat at its wooden porch, enjoy the breeze that flows through it arches, and rock the chair, while your thoughts travel in time, to "how it was". The rooms are very clean, good beds/pillows and soft cotton white sheets (pristine) 👌. Our batroom was tiny but the shower was great; plenty of towels & toiletries provided. There\'s no elevator in the property (3 floors) This might be a deal breaker for some; we were fine with it. Help is provided with the luggage. If this is an inconvenience, request 1st floor accomodations, so worth it! It is located in a quiet area but only steps away from St Pete\'s entertainment area of restaurants, bars and busy scene. I so loved staying here! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful old hotel....shopping, dining out....everything within walking distance

Had a great stay at the Cordova inn last weekend. It is in a great location, walking distance to downtown and the water. Easy parking near by and easy access to food. It was also clean, I even check the air filters and I was happy to see they were also clean. Deff will stay here again!

Location was perfect for walking to many places on the area. We had after hour check in which we had no issues with.

The location was excellent and the bar/coffee shop (The Scott) in the reception area is a very comfortable spot to relax in. There is construction next door and the street can be noisy so if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room in the back of the building.

Historic property located within walking distance (15 minutes or less) of museums, shopping, and dining options. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Room was a good size (2 queen beds) but bathroom was tiny. Nicely refurbished except carpet was worn and dirty looking. In process of adding new 63 room addition so it was noisy during the day in the common area and porch. Also, no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. Ok for us but be aware if you have difficulty climbing stairs.

Historic property in a great location. Large comfortable room. Reception was friendly and helpful. Thought the prices were comparable to others in the area. We could walk everywhere we wanted to in St. Pete and boy did we walk. My only criticism would be there was no breakfast available. The hotel had 3 floors and no elevator which I could see as problematic for some guests. We would consider staying here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for his 40th birthday as a stay-cation. The Inn was clean, check in was a breeze, the staff was fabulous, and the atmosphere was spectacular! I loved having the ability to grab a drink from the bar or our room and relaxing outside on the porch. The location is perfect to downtown, and very close to the Pier. Parking wasn’t the best, my husband had some ankle issues prior to our stay, but we just payed to park next door, rather than waking to the SunDial parking garage. I would definitely recommend this Inn, I’m looking forward to our next stay!!

The room needs basic improvements, mattress, bathroom curtains and curtain rails. There is no daily cleaning and coffee is not replenished. There is no dining room. There is a small bar, nice and with good service. Parking is nearby, secure and included in the room rate. The hotel has 3 floors, there is no elevator and the staff is not flexible or helpful as we are elderly and there are no elevators and no help with luggage, they should consider placing us on the lower levels. After 10:30 pm there is no reception but there is security and you enter with your room card. The hotel is well located and within walking distance to Central Ave and Beach Dr.

Staff was amazing! Hotel was very nice and festively decorated for the holidays. Staff made us feel welcome and it was a great intimate setting. Awesome choice if you want something different than all the cookie cutter chain hotels! Definitely coming back!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay! The hotel coffee bar was always amazing the bartenders were super friendly and all other staff was always great. We loved the historic feel of the building and the eclectic style. Was great location and walking distance to most things.

Love the antique style of the hotel. Love all of the history and the bar in the hotel is amazing! Delicious drinks and great bartender and atmosphere! Only complaint would be the shower/bathroom was incredibly small and the blow dryer was so old it tripped the outlet. Overall we would stay here again bc the good was better then the little things listed.

We got a great deal on this room, which is what drew our attention to the Cordova Inn. The room was barely above average. The bathrooms are very dated, the flooring creaks and moves as you walk around and the bed was relatively uncomfortable. However it was quaint for our two night stay. What made the experience so much better, was the coffee shop/bar in the lobby. We were greeted with friendly faces and delicious drinks each morning and evening. The area is also relatively walkable which we appreciated!

Me and my boyfriend were very comfortable at the Cordova in. It was very cozy and we felt safe. It was worth the price. The Bar was supposed to be open 8am-😭10pm but when we woke up on Sunday at 10am the bar still wasn’t open and we were looking forward to their coffee :/. Their front porch was very nice everything was clean. Very close walkable distance from and very nice AMC theater, Ruth’s Chris, a lot of other bars and liquor stores. I would definitely recommend and stay again!
