It was ok, I wouldn't stay there again. The room was tiny and the bartender (cupcake) was very rude. Not worth the money.

Nice getaway for a small family. Facilities need a little updating, but all in all, it was comfortable and clean. Some outdoor spaces could se more updating, maintenance and cleaning. Staff was extremely friendly.

The location is simply the best on Treasure Island, has cornhole setup for two games at once, live music and a tiki bar till about 8:30pm, the new pool is nice but not heated, the hot tub works well. The building was built in 1961 and in some ways shows it's age. The public rest room available off the pool is in need of updating but the staterooms are immaculate and renovated with Mini Split systems and are quite comfortable. Overall, the sunrise views(will need to go to the beach near water and look back to see) and the sunset views (Perfect from the pool) make the trip worth it 100x over, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The board walk does have a few homeless people scattered around it so I would be cautious when walking at night if alone or unable to defend yourself.

We love the Thunderbird we've been staying on and off for decades. We're sorry they haven't replaced the Italian restaurant with something in the main building it would be very nice. It's not eco-friendly because I don't think a lot of Florida recycles it's not entirely their fault. The place is well kept and that's a lot of work for a mid-century low-rise hotel. We love the Retro feel and that you're right on the beach. It's not a high-rise experience it's more like a village. They have housekeeping suites with parlors and kitchenettes and we stayed in one of those this time. Love the iconic neon Thunderbird. The beach is amazing. It's so clean and it's very wide and it has its own patches of grass trees and habitat right before the sand. Which that's very important for the general ecosystem. It's a low key crowd basically middle age and families. The tiki bar is terrific. Lots of fun but not so loud and noisy or Rowdy that it's like spring break. It's not that kind of crowd. Not a party beach in general. You can walk on the beach to great restaurants like sloppy joes. There's plenty of restaurants on the street in general and good souvenir shopping and there's a trolley / bus that goes downtown. Convenient parking. It's about an hour from Tampa Airport in traffic.
