Loved it! Def's would love to come back and stay! Staff were friendly, Tv system was a bit *meh* the pool was beautiful at night (cold weather) but still able to have a swim, parking was a little expensive but it is what it is! But overall will definitely come back! Didn't get to try the bar, breakfast or anything else, would recommend this place to everyone!

The Rydges was perfect for a quick solo getaway in the city. The room was large and clean and the staff were incredibly friendly. The rooftop pool was lovely - perfect temp and with a great view! For the price, you really can’t beat this. I’ve stayed at a number of 5 star hotels in Melbourne and this was right up there.

Nice hotel rooms, great location and generally good service. However, we had multiple bad experiences with the service at the breakfast buffet and the pool was poorly equipped with daybeds and places to chill.

The room was nothing like what was pictured on the website. There were NOT enough elevators to serve the size of the property. Waiting over 30mins for an elevator empty enough to get on is not ok for the cost of the hotel.

I have stayed here many times. The irons are often dirty and have damaged clothes, the gym equipment is dated and the air conditioner in the rooms is restricted - presumably for energy management vs customer comfort. Staff are great and convenient location

Rooms recently refurbished and comfortable. Tiny but functional bathroom. Let down by the service. Attempted to force self service check in despite special requests made in advance. Room servicing was poor- no rubbish removed during a multi night stay and no towels or drinks replenished after second night with random cleaning item left in room. Can’t fault the price point for the location just a pity the hospitality service was lacking.

Well appointed hotel, small room but has everything you need. The room smelt of mould, quite strong. I mentioned it to concierge that if someone could have a look at the drain in the show as I think that's where it's coming from but no one turned up? Other than that we had a lovely time.

It’s a nice hotel, but be prepared to wait. You want a drink at the bar? You’re going to wait several minutes for service. Use the elevators? They take forever. Get breakfast? Takes them 2 minutes to process every person in, so if there’s 3-4 people in front of you, you’ll wait. On top of that aircon in room didn’t work.

Great location when going to Theatre. So many food options and easy walking to many attractions including Vic Markets. We stayed in a deluxe king room. Pretty small room but was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Like sleeping on a cloud. Bathroom was small and there was not much privacy with the toilet, which would be my only gripe. Loved the contactless check out. Will stay here again

The location was excellent for our visit to the Princess Theatre. The room was very clean and fixtures/fittings were in new condition. We booked a Deluxe Room with King Bed and were happy with it for our 1 night stay, although it was on the small side, especially the bathroom. We would use the hotel again for a 1-2 night stay and the location is great for the theatre district.

Excellent time at Rydges. We were on the top floor and it was mostly very quiet with a great view. We did experience some humming from some equipment in the adjacent room, so next time will request a different room. But that was the only negative. Everything else was spot-on.

The heating/aircon in the rooms doesn’t work properly and cant be adjusted in the room - I have to ask reception to adjust which is inconvenient and they often forget to do it. This is an ongoing issue with the rooms and often mean it’s uncomfortable for sleeping. Also most recently there was no hot water for a morning shower. As a regular customer I’m becoming less likely to stay at this hotel due to the room aircon/heating issues.

Great stay with a small billing hiccup I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff was friendly and provided great service. The rooms were modern, spotless, and very comfortable. The location was perfect as well, making it easy to explore the area. The only downside was a billing issue I experienced with breakfast. I had paid in advance for three days of breakfast but only used two. Unfortunately, I was still charged for all three days. However, I believe the hotel would have credited one day back to my account, wasn't so. i would recommend paying for breakfast each day so you're not out of pocket. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Pay for a nights accommodation in Victorias grand capital city only to find no reception. Staff direct you to an ipad to check yourself in. Where's the good old fashioned customer service and reception?. Wont be staying here again.

I booked a room at this hotel on the day online and paid in full. They proceeded to call me an hour later saying they were fully booked out and must cancel my booking. I am still chasing my refund with them as i have been hung up when attempting to call numerous times. Terrible service.

We had a great stay at Rydges Melbourne. The staff were so lovely and gave us complimentary drinks for our anniversary in the restaurant bar. The towels are are great size and bed was so comfy. Easy check in and check out. Car parking is very expensive though so look for other offers, but it is so convenient.

The Rydges staff were amazing. Very accommodating and supportive when I needed to extend my stay with no notice after having surgery at the hospital nearby. Staff were very attentive bringing me ice buckets and even made me a little care package including chocolate, just very sweet.

Place was fantastic however staff were not. In particular, parking staff were disgustingly rude. After checking out we were instructed at reception to move our car whenever we’d like, even after double checking that we can check out without leaving with our car. As we came back to get our car a couple hours later, one of the parking staff proceeded to yell at us and tell us that we can not leave without moving our car (opposite of what reception had said) and told us he had been “stressing all morning”. We explained that we were only doing what reception had told us & he proceeded to fight with us back and forth. Then as other hotel guests arrived he went up to them and started pointing at us and gossiping about what had just happened. Never encountered someone so rude. Check in staff were also not too friendly. To top it off, I also got an incorrect minibar charge on my card. Super disappointing.

Beautiful hotel and location. But was overcharged by around 200 aud. Needed to make a long distance call to talk to the manager. It took about a week before the overcharged was returned to my credit card. Checked in 4 am (paid the day before) we waited a long time until the front desk came out from the room. About an hour. Excellent rooms and location.

Stay was okay for 1 night. Pros: Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Cons: Room was quite small and stuffy. Ordered Toastie snack at 10.30pm for room service and it arrived closer to 11pm. Came in a cardboard box in a brown paper bag amd they have the cheek to charge me $6 tray service charge…! No one was coming back to collect it !! Four Fire engines arrived outside of hotel around 11.30pm. My husband was coming back to hotel from a function at this same time and called to say he wasn’t allowed into the hotel. I was in the hotel room and had no knowledge of what was happening down stairs. I heard the sirens and saw the lights reflecting in the street, but there were no alarms or evacuation undertaken even though the fire doors to the lifts were closed. Buffet breakfast next day was ok. Very expensive at $45pp and then having to pay for a coffee/late on top…should be included at that price. Had to ask staff for plates as they ran out and hadn’t been replenished. Went to get some apple juice….none left…also had to ask for spoons. Buffet layout terrible. Pastry offering poor also as ran out of items and not replenished at 9.30am…when.buffet runs to 11am.

Fantastic service and very comfortable room. Bath is a great size for a good soak. Was also a nice surprise they were offering Easter activities over the Easter weekend, and the entrance was really nicely decorated for Easter. We ordered room service one night and it was fast delivery and good quality food. Overall we were very impressed and would happily stay here for a city getaway weekend again.

Great check in and really nice little touches like birthday wishes on a card for my wife with chocolate.Delicious meal at the restaurant. However, the morning breakfast buffet seemed chaotic, it was obvious the staff were unable to keep up with the supply of food to guests and many of them looked fed up and overwhelmed. Sausages appeared undercooked, coffee dreadful and noticed guests having trouble finding simple things like butter. The toaster’s were extremely slow causing congestion and even then it was not done evenly. Overall, it seemed disjointed without flow or ease of use.

All in all good stay. Only things I did not like are the breakfast buffet, which looks good but is actually very disappointing (not really a lot of options or tasty) and the room is quite small with very limited storage (and they use some of it for the minibar snacks). The elevators and lobby do get busy, but was not an issue for me.
