Bon Hotel bien placé dans Funchal. Pensez par contre à bien reserver d’avance par mail ou téléphone si comme nous vous avez loué une voiture de location car il est assez difficile de se garer dans le quartier ou il faut passer par le centre commercial qui vous facture 15euros.

Fantastic Location, lovely breakfast, very friendly staff. Nice touches like the glass of bubbly on arrival and at breakfast. However, the hotel is a bit dated and the hair drier in the bathroom went bang when my wife tried to use it. Could also do with a kettle in the room.

The pool and patio were fantastic and spacious. We had drinks and takeout dinner on the rooftop! The breakfast was okay, however the buffer dinner was awful and we felt quick sick afterwards. There is no AC in the rooms. Water pressure and patio were lovely! Provided a glass of champagne on arrival which was a nice touch.

Excellent location in the old town. Room with a balcony to the street was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Roof top pool is amazing with an amazing view of the town. Swim-able even in January. Special thanks to Tanya who helped us get a better room.

Good location, with balcony, no AC but there is a fan and when we went, it was 18C outside. If you are hiking or touring early, they can prepare a mini breakfast for you which is pretty awesome. Otherwise, the regular breakfast is @ 7:30 and it’s pretty good. They still use manual keys for door locks. Has a pool but we didn’t use it. Helpful staff.

Great location in the centre of the old town. Hotel is a bit tired, and sound proofing between rooms is pretty poor. Breakfast buffet is quite limited in choice. I was surprised that you had to request and pay extra for a fridge for the room… The rooftop is great with plenty of loungers, the poolside bar was not open while I was there despite the pool area being full of guests on several days - this is a missed opportunity. It’s a shame that more is not made of the mid-century design - which is very on trend and could be a real feature. The staff were lovely and the welcome glass of fizz at check-in was a nice touch.

Hôtel de charme, look vintage que j'adore personnellement, très propre et tranquille. Le personnel était très charmant, accueillant, l'hôtesse à l'arrivée parlait même français. L'hôtel est légèrement en retrait du Centre-ville, dans un coin tranquille, mais nous sommes dans le vieux Funchal en 5-10 min max à pied. Les déjeuners inclus sont très généraux et bons!

Room was very dusty with marks on bathroom door and walls that could easily be remived with a wet wipe, so not thoroughly cleaned. Corridors were also really dusty. Thick dust on door frames and skirting boards. Great location!! Staff quite unhelpful and dismissive.

Wonderful experience. The front desk staff was kind, patient. The bar was cute and you can certainly sit outside. It's walkable to all of downtown shopping. The rooms are small, clean, and have what we needed (shampoo, soap, towels). Just as an FYI, there is parking available for 10 euros/night. Since we arrived late and were only staying 1 night, we were able to find street parking for cheaper. We enjoyed the welcome champagne. The included breakfast was very good! I would definitely recommend and will be back.

Bien situado aunque necesita muchas mejoras que a mí entender no son obras sino más bien pintar armarios, el rodapié que es de madera de lo desgastado que está el color parece sucio(tanto en la habitación como en el pasillo). Con eso ya parece otra cosa y que no de la imagen de viejo.La limpieza justita aunque tema cama la verdad que muy bien (muy cómoda y las sábanas limpias y muy suaves) el personal muy amable y educado.

Gute Unterkunft abseits des großen Hotelviertels dafür zu Fuß 2 Minuten bis zur Altstadt. Lage war für uns perfekt. Auf dem Dach gibt es einen Hotel-Pool der sauber ist, Liegen stehen zur Verfügung. Das Frühstück was mittelmäßig, komplett ausreichend und frisch aber auch nichts besonderes. Und die Säfte sollte man kalt stellen! Wer möchte warmen Fruchtsaft trinken? Die Hotelanlage an sich ist in die Jahre gekommen. Moderne Standards werden nicht erfüllt und das Mobiliar ist veraltet. Zum Schlafen reicht es und die Sauberkeit im Zimmer war gegeben. Der größte Kritikpunkt ist das Bad. Es war oberflächlich sauber aber hier muss ganz dringed mal wieder eine Grundreinigung rein. Die Baddecken sind ganz einfach dreckig und werden anscheind nicht gereinigt. Die Tür ging nicht zu verschließen und generell machte das Bad einen sehr alten Eindruck.

We highly recommend this hotel. It was in a very good location to get to the Mercado and the cable car, as well as any place in Funchal. We don’t recommend having a car in Funchal. It’s definitely a walking town. Special thanks to the receptionist. She makes the hotel a higher rating. She was very helpful with recommendations and overall being so dedicated to us having a terrific stay. We would stay here again, unfortunately it was already booked

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and they typically had a lot of variety. The location is very close to the town center and the parking is right across the street. The only negative I can think of is that the hotel is undergoing a renovation and it can get pretty loud and noisy at times.

Brilliant breakfast. Central so we could easily walk to the market, cathedral restaurant area, marina. Lots of eateries around from cafes to higher end. On a side street so not a lot of traffic noise. Supermarket 3 min walk. Staff so friendly and helpful and serving staff brilliant, quietly super efficient. Room was very good, balcony, great shower. Cleaned every day.

Hôtel très bien situé pour visiter Funchal. A deux pas du marché des Lavradores et de la vieille ville . Le personnel est sympathique et très accueillant. Petit déjeuner copieux et restaurant sur place avec formule buffet très agréable.
