Overall pretty good but it was quite expensive for what it is. Only complaint would be that the sound insulation between rooms was not that great. We could hear the neighbouring rooms televisions. Great location, sizeable rooms and the kids loved the pool.

We appreciated the cleanliness of the room, however the property has no guest laundry, no breakfast service and is quite run down. Hopefully the new managers will be able to improve the property.

We stayed in Ballina for 2 nights room quite big&bright nice pool.Good service.Very clean.About a 10 minute walk into town.Henry Rous nice pub excellent food.We took the bus to Lennox Head 20 min.Walked back along the coast 11km plus 3km into town.

James and Olivia manage the property and are excellent hosts. Friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We used their free airport transfer and this helped us a lot. Faster than waiting for the airport bus. Location is convenient to shops. The property is an older style motel with very spaceous room. The room was very clean. Definitely would stay again.

Loved the ‘70’s decor, very nicely refurbished, but bathroom was very small - my very large son had to open the door to use the basin, but it was a constraint the decorators had to work with. We were most impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the supplies - loved the Moccona coffee!

I loved that the town centre was only a few streets away. We stayed at another hotel after Avlon Gardens with a higher star rating and Avlon put it to shame. Loved the ‘70’s decor, very nicely refurbished, but bathroom was very small - my very large son had to open the door to use the basin, but it was a constraint the decorators had to work with. We were most impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the supplies - loved the Moccona coffee!

Very friendly welcome. The requests I made well suited my needs. They went above and beyond. My room was lovely and spacious. Nicely decorated with a warmth and homely feeling. The coffee machine was fantastic.. Great location, very close to shops, restaurants and centre of town. Easy to get around. Had a restful nights sleep. Highly recommended. Will return again..

The room itself was good,the noise of doors being slammed night and day was annoying. Having the other guests park your car in tested my driving ability - I went on holiday from a car yard to have a break from that!

Avlon Motel was very convenient for us because it was just a wee turn off the main road. James and Olivia were perfect hosts and very friendly. We found the convenience of the motel to our liking since we are not 'party types' and the motel was situated in a quiet are. Avlon Motel is not a new motel and despite being a little bit dated, it was very clean and comfortable. As we only stayed one night, I can't comment on shopping, transport etc, BUT, Olivia did give me some options on dining for breakfast. We chose the delightful Shelly Beach Cafe, where we saw whales blowing and breaching and tour boats out on the ocean.

Will come back. Friendly reception, spotlessly clean room, comfy bed, lounge and dining table. Great to have crockery and cutlery as well. Nice touch to get access to the local club and enjoy a good meal and a cold one.
