Loved it! The hotel is about a 2 minute walk from the train station and about a 10 minute walk to Grindelwald First. The room was very comfortable. We had one of the apartment rooms in the building behind the hotel. Very spacious and the beds were super comfortable. The breakfast was great. Typical continental breakfast items plus scrambled eggs and bacon. I would definitely stay there again.

So I stayed two nights in one of the apartment rooms which are in a separate building behind the main hotel. (Listed on Expedia as: Standard Apartment with Gallery, Balcony (Chalet)). My top floor room had a kitchen, living room, huge bathroom, a balcony and loft bedroom. I loved every minute of my stay. The hotel provides cooking equipment upon request - although just remember that there are no cooking supplies (like spices or condiments) so if you're going to cook, you'll need to buy everything at the Co-op which is a 2-3 minute walk away. The staff was super! The front desk staff was helpful, friendly and knowledgable and got me checked in very quickly. There was a minor issue with the TV, and they had someone up to fix it very quickly. I really enjoyed sleeping in the loft - however - a word of caution; the ceiling is very low, and the steps are very steep. I'm in my late 50s and about 5'8' tall. I bonked my head a couple of times on the low ceiling rafters in the loft and the stairs were a bit steep for my creaky legs. Again - I absolutely loved it - but if that kind of stuff bothers you, or mobility is an issue, then perhaps a regular room at this hotel would be a better choice. I'd guess that families might sleep the adults on the pullout couch and send the kids to the loft - but for me, the adventure of sleeping up there was worth the soft bonk on the noggin.

Paid carpark across the street. Easily accessible with and with discount if arranged by the hotel. Also so close to the train and bus station. The hotel is right in the city centre. Friendly receptionist too. Very happy with the stay.

The check in entry is very weird, it has to go up from the back side of the building. It took us 20 minutes to figure out the entry door and check in table. You need to climb steps with the heavy suitcases and the hall roads definitely is narrow. The first night we figured out the tv was broken, the second morning after my shower, I found out the hair dryer was broken. The stuff is nice, they changed the room for us. But again, the hair dryer was broken. And the security box. We were tired to complain, just finished the trip in Alps and left. What an impressed hotel!!!

Perfectly located hotel near train and bus station. Supermarket just across the road. Views of the mountains all around. Apartments out the back in a different building. Would have to go outside to another building for breakfast and reception (no ideal in winter). Great breakfast. Luggage room in case you come early or what more time on the day of departure.

Pros -Great breakfast (eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal, breads, cheeses, hams, fruits) -Price is reasonable for the area -1 minute walk from train station -Shops and restaurants nearby Cons -Old: There was a fake deer ingrained in the wall which was creepy. The carpet and amenities are worn and in desperate need of upgrade. Cramped: Very small and tight space, we were not very comfortable in the room. -No air conditioning: It can get hot in the summer. -Beds are old with thin mattresses and not very comfortable for sleeping.

Spent 6 nights at this hotel in February in single room. Room is compact but comfortable. I had a room at the front of the property, busy bus station across the road, but look over this and you have stunning views of the mountains. Lovely stay in Grindelwald.

Great hotel and staff.. walking distance to train station. Right in town walking to all restaurants. No fan or ac and it was very very hot at night. Flies were relentless but I guess it’s the time of year. Overall wonderful hotel and would stay again!

Perfect location for all things Grindelwald. Transit, shopping, sight seeing, all basically out the door. Staff was very friendly, the room extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was fantastic. The hotel gives you a bus pass for your stay which made getting around great. There is so much to see and do in this area that one night was not enough.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel. Let's start with the restaurant. The food was nothing short of horrible. After taking just one bite, I couldn't stomach it and had to send it back. Despite my dissatisfaction, I was still charged for the entire meal. It's incredibly disheartening to receive such poor quality food and not even receive a simple apology. The waitress and the manager were rude and displayed a complete lack of professionalism. Moving on to the hotel, the room was exceptionally small. It was easily the worst night of our entire 2 weeks vacation in Europe. The cramped space made it extremely uncomfortable, and it felt far from the relaxing experience we were hoping for. Overall, stay away form it!! The combination of awful food, unapologetic staff, and cramped hotel rooms left a lasting negative impression. There are far better options available that can provide a more enjoyable and satisfying experience.

The hotel is only a couple of minutes of walk from Grindelwald train station. Our room is like a studio apartment, having a kitchen and a huge balcony with table and chairs set up for the guest to enjoy some sun and the mountain view. The included buffet breakfast has a lot of selections. Overall we are very happy with our stay here and will not hesitate to come back!

The Wolter is ideally located next to the main rail and bus stations giving quick access to the slopes. The room was well appointed but would have benefitted from Tea Coffee facilites being avaliable. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable.

Nice hotel, excellent location next to train station. Views of Mount Roger and other mountains were amazing. They have a restaurant but we didn't use. Room was big, excellent view mount Eiger and other Alps mountains. Reception Staff were very good and helpful. Would love to stay there again. Only negative thing was breakfast, very disappointing, not much to choose from, the breakfast staff was grumpy. Need to improve on breakfast. No kettle in room, no tea or coffee. Need to consider that especially for guests coming after long flight and then train or car journey.

Fantastic location, close to the train station and the COOP market. Breakfast is fairly good, but they need more staff. Ridiculous amount of flies in the hotel restaurant - I would avoid eating dinner there.
