Outstanding hotel with excellent and very helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone going to Montreux. Hotel is directly opposite the station and seems to be built into side of a hill as the 4th floor is directly above reception. Plenty of eateries in the area and backs onto lake Leman so easy to step onto the lakeside promenade and walk round to the Chateau de Chiffon and past the old Casino. The biggest failing was that there does not appear to be any direct access from the hotel to the lake side of the property, you have to cone out on the side facing the station and use the public stairs/escalators on the side of the building.

Wir waren als Familie, Grosseltern, Kinder, Schwiegerkinder und Enkel in Montreux im Grand Hotel. Sehr schade, dass das Hotel keine Parkplätze zur Verfügung stellt. Das sind doch noch recht hohe Kosten. bei so einem exklusiven Hotel sollten diese Kosten übernommen werden. Die Lobby ist sehr schön,freundlicher Empfang und es riecht einfach mega fein. Die Zimmer sind schön, sauber, funktional, das Bad eher klein und leider keine Dusche. Dafür überzeugen die wunderbaren Betten - einfach traumhaft geschlafen.

hotel is in a great location — directly across from train station. All of my requests were addressed immediately. Spend the extra money to have a lake view with a balcony. I wish there was a small area where patrons could enjoy the view without having to enjoy a drink or food.

Wir haben während dem Weihnachtsmarkt genächtigt. Cool war, dass man zu Fuss keine 5 Minuten braucht, um Mitten im Weihnachtsmarkt zu sein. Der Nachteil ist, dass man bis tief in die Nacht der Lärm von den Leuten auf der Strasse hört und noch übler sind die vielen Autopser. So nachts um 3.00h war es dann Mal ruhig. Ab 5.00h kam täglich die Strassenreinigung mit Laubbläser um Laub und Abfälle zusammen zu kehren. Zwischendurch war es ruhig, ausser es brausste am unmittelbar benachbarten Bahnhof ein Güterzug durch. Durch- & ausschlafen ist Wunschdenken. Leider hat das Hotel keine eigenen Parkplätze. Am Wochenende während des Weihnachtsmarktes scheint es fast aussichtslos zu sein, einen Platz in einer der umliegenden öffentlichen Tiefgaragen zu finden. Aussenparkplätze kann man vergessen da Parkdauer auf 2-3 Stunden begrenzt. Der Weihnachtsmarkt war wie immer ein Traum. Das Hotel werden wir zu diesem Zeitpunkt sicher nicht mehr wählen.

Very convenient for train (across the street). Next to lakefront and room had nice view but unless you were dining at the restaurant there didn’t seem to be a place to enjoy the view from the public space/lobby of the hotel. Bar is right off of the reception area and is bery bright/not much ambiance. Service was good.

Everything is excellent, from the location, cleanliness, staff, amenities was tiptop. The fitness center has some basic equipment (few dumbbells, treadmill and bike). Was a little pricey but it's probably one of the best hotels in that area.

Fabulous place in the center of everything! Best part of the property is their massive terrace overlooking lake Geneva. Across from train station (without dealing with train noise) and 1 min. Walk to buses. Highly recommend this hotel!

A lovely room with a sea side view. Hamman and sauna were a nice bonus. Breakfast buffet was plentiful. Montreux is breathtaking. With plenty of opportunities for walking and enjoying the boardwalk. .

The view from our room was fantastic. The room was comfortable although I felt it was a bit small, especially considering the price. My biggest reason for decreasing the ratings was because there was a significant amount of black mold in the bathroom. For such a nice hotel, mold should not be acceptable.

Ett superfint hotell med bästa läget om man som vi kommer med tåg. Vi hade dubbelrum med balkong och en otroligt vacker utsikt lver sjön, bergen och solnedgången. Städningen var oklanderlig och det tom luktade gott i hela hotellet. Ytterligare en guldkant är att dricka från minibaren är gratis och fylls på varje dag.

This hotel welcomes you with a luxurious old world feel!! So close to the train station (literally across the street …) and right on the lake. It was easy to walk along the promenade and take public transportation to different nearby villages. The room was super clean and had a beautiful view of lake Geneva. The little balcony with table and chairs and Nespresso machine in the room was the icing on the cake :). Breakfast had a nice variety which included healthy options as well. What stood out the most was the concierge and staff that worked at the hotel. They were super helpful in finding and recommending things to do to make the most of the stay, even calling ahead ro a nearby vineyard to make sure they had space for us for a last minute tasting. Then helping us with the trains there and back. Overall we can’t recommend this hotel enough and would stay here again!

Beautiful property directly across from the train station! Hotel was immaculate, staff was polite, rooms were quiet and bathrooms were well stocked with L’Occitane products. The restaurant had a fantastic view of the lake. This hotel is close to everything you could need or want in Montreux and was one of the best hotels I’ve ever visited! Already want to come back!

Das Hotel hat seinen Charme und ist aufgrund der zentralen Lage super. Leider enttäuschte es uns das nur französisch oder englisch gesprochen wurde. Auch waren im Bad diverse nutzbare Utensilien nicht im guten Zustand. Desweiteren hat es eine kleine Stufe zum Bad hin, welche nicht gekennzeichnet ist und somit eine Stoplergefahr darstellt. Sonst war das Zimmer super, sauber und das Personal freundlich.

Excellent historic hotel in a picturesque location right on the lake. From a view standpoint, splurging for the lake-view room is worth it. The staff was friendly and helpful and the area is beautiful and walkable. The room was large and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Huge bonus, right across the street from the train station. I have a couple of complaints and I have these same complaints with every one of these older, historic hotels. They seem to be lacking in soundproofing and transfer noise from adjacent or above rooms. Second, every balcony hotel in Europe seems to allow smoking. This is unfair to those of us who don't smoke. I don't want to smell or hear people in the adjoining rooms. I also DO want to enjoy my balcony. I'm sure there's some sort of a calculation and because most Europeans smoke, they allow it. I have yet to be at a balcony hotel that didn't allow smoking and it's annoying. Can't even open the windows if the balcony next to you or below you is smoking. It just comes right in the room. Completely unfair.

Absolutt helt fantastisk. Vi hadde junior suite, balkong med lake view (så rett ned på julemarkedet)! Fantastisk personale, så høflige og greie, nydelig hotel, nydelige rom, deilig mat både frokost og middag. Anbefales på det sterkeste !!! 10/10! ❤️

Lovely view from our balcony and the restaurant terrace. Quiet room other than noise from floor above. Very soft bed. Poor bathroom design with unsafe shower over bath arrangement and trip hazard. Staff giggled when I mentioned the bathroom - apparently most have the trip step into the bathroom! Very convenient for the station. Fab food if expensive in 45

Requested and paid for a superior room with excellent views. Ended up with a nice view of the lake and mountains blocked meaningfully by the asphalt roof of the terrace below us. We asked for our room to be changed and were denied. I felt taken advantage of …. I wanted a perfect view which is why I chose that hotel and paid for the view. I did not expect to have to overlook a flat black asphalt roof while I enjoyed the view. Additionally the air conditioning was not working and the room temperature wouldn’t go below 23 degrees C making for an uncomfortable night sleep. Finally the showers are only 11 inches wide,( NOT an exaggeration), making for a dangerous bathing situation . Bellman was kind, considerate and helpful.
Requested and paid for a superior room with excellent views. Ended up with a nice view of the lake and mountains blocked meaningfully by the asphalt roof of the terrace below us. We asked for our room to be changed and were denied. I felt taken advantage of …. I wanted a perfect view which is why I chose that hotel and paid for the view. I did not expect to have to overlook a flat black asphalt roof while I enjoyed the view. Additionally the air conditioning was not working and the room temperature wouldn’t go below 23 degrees C making for an uncomfortable night sleep. Finally the showers are only 11 inches wide,( NOT an exaggeration), making for a dangerous bathing situation . Bellman was kind, considerate and helpful.

I would rate the hotel as 5 stars, but there were some downsides. We booked for 3 people, but the room was set up for 2 with a rollaway bed. The lake view room was small, and the bathroom size was inadequate for 3 people. However, the service was great, and the lake view itself was stunning.

Their customer service is 0/5 or an F. Got stuck in NJ due to weather and tried to cancel our 3 night stay. They refused and told us to take it up with hotels.com. They would not even allow us to cancel 2 of the 3 nights eventhough we gave them advanced notice. The stay was a Monday thru Thursday and they still had rooms available during that time because we checked daily. Long story short we never made it to Switzerland, tried to reason with them to come to a fair agreement and they refused even a partial refund. Ended up spending 3 days in the Newark airport instead. Vacation ruined and out over a $1000 due to the hotel not being reasonable. We had 2 options to either pay early which we did or pay at the property so we are being punished for paying them early.

Best hotel of our trip. We stayed at 7 hotels in our recent trip and by far this was the best. Very luxurious, amazing clean and comfortable rooms, and the VIEW from our balcony wow wow wow. Great location on The promenade facing the Lake. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the train station is literally across the street from hotel lobby.

They told us that they could not give us the room we expected as they had offered it to other ‘special guests’. Room not available to us on check in, though was to people next to us. This hotel welcomes you with a luxurious old world feel!! So close to the train station (literally across the street …) and right on the lake. It was easy to walk along the promenade and take public transportation to different nearby villages. The room was super clean and had a beautiful view of lake Geneva. The little balcony with table and chairs and Nespresso machine in the room was the icing on the cake :). Breakfast had a nice variety which included healthy options as well. What stood out the most was the concierge and staff that worked at the hotel. They were super helpful in finding and recommending things to do to make the most of the stay, even calling ahead ro a nearby vineyard to make sure they had space for us for a last minute tasting. Then helping us with the trains there and back. Overall we can’t recommend this hotel enough and would stay here again!

Wir haben während dem Weihnachtsmarkt genächtigt. Cool war, dass man zu Fuss keine 5 Minuten braucht, um Mitten im Weihnachtsmarkt zu sein. Der Nachteil ist, dass man bis tief in die Nacht der Lärm von den Leuten auf der Strasse hört und noch übler sind die vielen Autopser. So nachts um 3.00h war es dann Mal ruhig. Ab 5.00h kam täglich die Strassenreinigung mit Laubbläser um Laub und Abfälle zusammen zu kehren. Zwischendurch war es ruhig, ausser es brausste am unmittelbar benachbarten Bahnhof ein Güterzug durch. Durch- & ausschlafen ist Wunschdenken. Leider hat das Hotel keine eigenen Parkplätze. Am Wochenende während des Weihnachtsmarktes scheint es fast aussichtslos zu sein, einen Platz in einer der umliegenden öffentlichen Tiefgaragen zu finden. Aussenparkplätze kann man vergessen da Parkdauer auf 2-3 Stunden begrenzt. Der Weihnachtsmarkt war wie immer ein Traum. Das Hotel werden wir zu diesem Zeitpunkt sicher nicht mehr wählen.

We had the best stay here during the Freddie Mercury days in September. It’s conveniently located right across the train station and the bus stop is also very close. There are delicious food options within walking distance and a grocery store. Rooms were clean and quiet. Thoroughly enjoyed the balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast buffet had a wide range and was delicious. Dinner was better than other restaurants around the area. Complimentary beverages in the fridge were a huge plus and were refilled daily. Wonderful property, staff, and location. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

This property is located across from the train station. They also supply passes to the local buses to get around town as needed. The breakfast is very expensive, 30 chf per person. There was a patisserie just up the street where you could get breakfast pretty cheaply. For whatever reason the cooling system wasn’t working and we were told to open windows and they also supplied a portable oscillating fan.

48hours prior to arrival an email was sent saying that the restaurant was to be closed from 24 December to January. Horrible way to spend a Christmas! Front desk handed out a list of about 12 restaurants (2 were in the next town of Vevey) some were not open, no addresses no map. Guests were left bewildered. I asked at the front what the occupancy of the hotel was, it was 80%. Constantly we were told that the low occupancy required that they closed the restaurant. Ridiculous!! We were encouraged to use room service, limited staff to cook and deliver a limited menu. A hamburger and fries cost over 40 Swiss Francs. There was no re compensation for the inconvenience and I noticed no upper management present to assist the guests.

The hotel is perfectly located within Montreaux and the view of Lake Geneva is breathtaking. We did splurge to have a nice balcony overlooking the lake and did not regret a moment of it. The restaurant is fantastic as well with a wide selection of incredible meals which we did partake in. The cocktail bar does make a great drink but a little pricey compared to other cocktail bars. It is a amazing nice hotel so that makes sense. With the train station across the street and the city pass you are given it makes this location a no brainier.

I have stayed at this hotel many times on my annual trip to Montreux, can't beat it for convenience for the station and town, luxury setting with staff that are friendly and helpful without any of the snootiness that can be found in other high-end establishments. The lake-facing rooms are marvellous, the only criticism of the room on this stay was the position of the bath taps, which encroached on access to the shower. Won't put me off staying again though!

5/5 ⭐️ Excellent location directly across from the train station, which made getting around incredibly easy. A big plus was having air conditioning in the rooms, especially during the summer months. Just be aware that the restaurants are not air-conditioned, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re visiting during hot weather. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!
