Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Pool area was awesome and my kids really enjoyed it! Only complaint would be that although very clean, you can tell that the rooms are dated and the bedding, towels, etc could use an upgrade. Pool also seems a bit dirty, but it was always busy, so I’m sure it is hard to keep super clean all the time. Could easily walk to most places we wanted to visit or a short uber ride. Would stay again!

Convenient location. Nice deck and outdoor pool. The room was dated and is in need of updates. We requested more towels and toilet paper for our third night and did not receive them.

Did not like the $60 parking fee for guests also no parking on the street after 11pm or your car will be towed.

Good size room. We waited for many hours for sheets for the fold out sofa bed. Nice cookie welcome. Very nice pool area except from some very loud guests. Very expensive parking, so we found other options. Very crowded elevators.

The location was good. Two blocks off Michigan Ave and three blocks from the Pier. There are restaurant choices within a few blocks all the way around. The staff in the dining room were great. Food was good. Prices on the higher side. I wish the hotel offered shuttle service to and from the airport. I also wish that the pool closure would have been communicated prior to our stay because the convenience of the pool was a major point of staying here. As it was, it had been closed for several weeks prior and plans to be closed until mid July. There aren't any options for drinks/snacks or coffee outside of the dining room hours unless you go the the store next door (closes at 11p). (There are in room coffee pots but we do not use them) The common area in the lobby gets crowded without the dining room open for additional seating. And, if you pay in full prior to going, they will request a credit card at check in and charge $375 to hold until you check out for any dining room charges, snacks, etc. Overall, our stay was good, but not excellent.

We booked this hotel for the pool- it's closed until July. Expedia did not share it was closed on the website. The customer service person was rude. The lines for the elevators were long. At breakfast, we had to go ask the staff if they would take our order. They apologized and said they forgot about us. I was poured coffee and i said, no thank you. I got it anyways and was charged $5 for a cup of coffee i didn't order or drink. Stay somewhere else.

Hotel was very nice and room was very clean. Facilities excellent. Will definitely stay here again when in Chicago again.

Bathroom was moldy and fan didnt work. Dirty snacks left under nightstand. 130.00 for hotel guest parking. Not included or discounted at all.

I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The towels smelled very fresh and clean. The hotel was up to date and the service was awesome from everyone. I would most definitely return.

Room was clean and spacious. Would have liked a way to block out some of the lught coming in the windows and people were noisy in and out if their rooms. Convenient to everything downtown.

Great location! Walking distance to so much! The beds are beyond comfortable and the walls must be thick because we never heard a peep. They gave us a late check out without any problem. The bar in the hotel is quaint and they offer breakfast to go for $12. we chose the hotel because of its 'rooftop' pool which is on the 5 the floor. Unfortunately, there were so many kids that we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked to but that's not the hotels fault. Our beds was made up every day which is not the case in many hotels. I would definitely stay here again!

I paid for upgrade to 18th floor with a view and in return got a room with a building in front of it.

We had a pleasant stay. Only downside was that we could hear a lot of outside noise.

The walls in the rooms are very thin. At midnight the room beside us was having a little get together and were super loud and playing music we had to call the front desk to ask them to stop. The walls should not be so thin that I can hear the whole conversation of the people next door

The internet was fast and had an easy connection. The staff was very friendly and we had good food recommendations from the concierge. I would definitely stay at this hotel on my next trip to Chicago.

Customer service was excellent from the beginning. Housekeeping was also excellent. Loved the cookies, never had them before, until now. They became our bedtime treat, after being out all day and night. Would definitely recommend you all. Look forward to planning our next stay with Double Tree!!

My sisters and I booked this trip to celebrate our (4) 13 year olds birthdays together. We traveled from 4 different states to meet. When I booked I requested adjoining rooms. I called the hotel 6 months in advance to confirm and was told it wouldn't be a problem but to call again 1 week before our stay. I then called one week before our stay and was told it wouldn't be a problem but to call the morning of our arrival. I then called the morning of our arrival and they confirmed we do have adjoining rooms. When we arrived a few hours later we were told there are no adjoining rooms available. Had they just been honest to begin with we would have booked somewhere else. That was the whole point of the kids being together for the weekend. As far as the rooms: The bath tub did not drain properly so you were standing in 3" of water every time you showered. For 4 people we were given 3 towels and when we asked housekeeping for more we were told that's a front desk problem, you will have to call them. So every day for 4 days we had to call the front desk for more towels. The phone in one of the rooms didn't work. The hotel itself is in the perfect location for walking to shopping, food and Navy Pier. When we were checking out there were 2 different parties at the desk complaining about their reservations not being what they were promised either. So I advise if you need something specific, beware of booking here. They really need to work on their reservation promises.

I loved my stay at this wonderful hotel!! The kindness and attentiveness of the staff made all the difference! Literally every staff member I encountered greeted me with a genuine smile and tried to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Their famous warm cookies when you check in were just the beginning of what became a very sweet and memorable stay on Chicago!

The female at the desk was rude to me. First when I called for an early check in I was hung up on. Then we get to the hotel at 3:30 for a 4oclock check in and was told our room would not be ready until 4. That was fine but no communication was given to me so I went to the desk and was told our room would not be ready until 4:30. There was so sense of urgency just rudeness.

The front desk staff was helpful when we needed something sent to the room and the pool and the hotel in general were beautiful. However, getting help from the bellmen and concierge was a nightmare. The wait just to get help was insane and over the course of 2 days we spent about an hour just waiting for someone to show up so we could get our bags or get help with calling a taxi.

The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. I received text messages from time to time checking in on my stay and needs. The warm chocolate chip cookies were an amazing treat!

Easy and safe walking distance to the lake

The property is really close to the Navy Pier and other attractions in Chicago, easy to walk around to some stores.

You simply cannot beat this location! Right across the river, right next to the Magnificent Mile, a short walk away from Navy Pier, and surrounded by great restaurants and convenient stores. The pool on the fifth floor is spectacular and offers amazing views of the downtown skyline. Moreover, the hotel is in a clean and safe part of the city. Stayed there with two small kids, and had no problem roaming the neighborhood after dark.

The hotel was family friendly and near everything downtown. Will definitely come back and visit.

August was hot, pool area is fun and clean. Starbucks and breakfast choices were nice.

The hotel needs updating in the bathrooms mostly. The front desk staff need more training, they don’t look professional, no uniforms, saw an employee with flip flops. The restaurant is extremely good, the food is great quality and the staff is very attentive

The pool was amazing, rooms were very clean and nice. The check in process was a little frustrating as our room wasn't ready until an hour after check-in, but staff was very friendly. The restaurant on site is out of place. Wants to be an upscale experience and prices but it's in the middle of the lobby. Dinner was good, skip the breakfast buffet not worth the money.

I booked this hotel for the outside pool mostly and it met my expectations, but some other things were confusing and uncomfortable. First, breakfast charges - when I booked the hotel, breakfast was supposed to be included in the price, but during check in I was notified that I had to pay for kids. Moreover, they charge you full price, with tips of course, as the breakfast is served by a waiter, then they apply the credit of amount you had paid at time of booking. However the food was good and various. The other thing is that housekeeping never showed up during our 2-day stay. Finally, they charged me more than they should have. I got my receipt almost a week later and had to spend a few hours on the phone to get things sorted.

The hotel is nice enough, good location. I used the gym which was good. it’s a pricey hotel for 3 stars. My only complaint would be how expensive the restaurant was. The breakfast buffet was over $30. And the regular order breakfasts weren’t far from that price once tax, tip and fees.

Everything about our stay was great. Very nice and clean. The Hot House restaurant was definitely very delicious both food and drinks were 10/10.
