Jasper Ridge Inn Ishpeming

Booked this hotel mainly for pool and hot tub, hot tub was shut down. In the pictures it shows you will be staying in a private cabin and when we arrived it was just a hotel room. I put the "thjs room heedd cleaned sign on the door for hours and nobody ever cleaned. I had to take the trash out myself because they werent cleaning anything. The free breakfast was terrible with only a couple yougur cups, some bagels and cereal without milk. All in all very disappointing.

Everything was great, loved the pool,sauna,hot tub. Close to everything we wanted. Beds were just good.

Fix the doors around back side so that you need a keycard to get in so not everyone can get in off the street. Coffee & hot water were cold in lobby & breakfast coffee was not all that hot.

I admit we didn't expect much. For the price we had hoped to get a moderately clean, decently comfy-ish room, with hopefully working wifi and maybe even donuts for breakfast. But we were very pleasantly surprised. Admittedly the outside looks a bit like an abandoned building, but the inside is nicely decorated and comfy. Our beds were comfy, our room was clean, and all the assorted bits and bobs worked (although the fridge froze everything solid!). The pool was clean and not too crowded, and the weekend breakfast offered a surprising array of choices - yoghurt, cereal, eggs, bagels, biscuits and gravy, bacon, potatoes (these were admittedly pretty terrible), fruit, coffee and juice, scones, plus a few other things I'm probably forgetting. In the interest of full disclosure, the backdoor to the building was supposed to be accessible with your room keycard, but the lock was covered over with a thick slab of tape, so anyone could get in and out at any time. Also, the chain lock inside the room was broken. So from a security standpoint, it's probably not the safest location. Then again, Ishpeming isn’t widely known for it's frequent serial murders, so you'll probably be fine. All in all, for the price you pay, you get more than your money's worth, and we were very happy. We will definitely stay here again.

I was disappointed that there was no elevator. It was difficult for me to get my luggage to the second floor.

The beds were hard, and the pull out sofa had mold on the mattress area. The positive was the continental breakfast had pre-made egg sandwiches which was a nice addition to the usual waffles, cereal, yogurt breakfast. My child made a waffle that stuck to the waffle maker (they got as much waffle out as possible), the man taking care of the breakfast area made his displeasure to that known.

Nice big piece property. Cute looking cabins. I stayed in a room in main building. Lobby was very nice. Breakfast was better than average. But the carpet was gross. The towels were dingy with tiny dots of rust. So a couple things about hotels in the UP. Their busy seasons are short. Their clientele are rough on hotels. Snowmobilers, mountain bikers, people who just camped rough for a week, travelling hockey teams. Exceptionally good value for a family owned & operated Inn. Clean, well appointed, fast internet, safe & quiet. It even has a small coach & comfortable side chair. Fantastic value

I will do a Cliff note version since I only have 1500 letters. It was a dump and service was horrible. We were not greeted upon entry, the man at the front desk was lazy and dressed like he was going to a BBQ and struggled for words, we had to get our keys activated 10 times in three days, the air conditioning quit working, the TV remote didn’t work, the snack machines didn’t work, they refused to switch out our room when our air-conditioning went out, the strips in the bottom on the bathtub were black from dirt, there was no plastic shower curtain only cloth. They didn’t reach all the way a claw across the bathtub, causing the floor to be soaked. The towel bar fell apart when I gently moved the washcloth over to plug in my blow dryer, and after having to reach out to the guy at the front desk, a half a dozen times he had the audacity to say that he can’t believe how much everybody is complaining. I would’ve rather slept in my car.

The pool, sauna, and hot tub area is wonderful. The front entrance is tidy and gives a good impression but our room smelled terrible when we got to it (like body odor and food). I’m not sure if the carpet needs updating/cleaning but the smell left a negative impression.

Rooms were nice but would prefer a more modern foam mattress. The AC would only run for a little while then shut off, despite turning the dial to the coldest setting. I would have preferred if the room had been cooler to sleep. Good value though for the area.

We like this place. This is our first time in the cabins. Very spacious and accommodating. I do wish that for a three bedroom house that there were more seats for the table. The mattresses were a bit to be desired i ended up on the couch both nights for more comfort. The fireplace made everything cozy.

Everything was great at the property but the bed was extremely uncomfortable and any movement would wake up the other person.

I saw a review that said "hidden gem." I agree. We live not far from the area and I had no idea this property existed until the dog sled races locked up all the hotel rooms in the entire Marquette proper. Glad we found it! Very comfortable room recently updated with all new carpeting, paint, furniture, etc. Our only complaint is structurally, there is little to no noise abatement in property construction. If you had a noisy party nearby it would be very disturbing. We had zero noise issues over the weekend due to low key neighbors in our hallway. I would suggest the second floor to minimize folks walking above your ceiling. Due to renovation, property smells new and looks great. The lobby is very inviting with ice water, coffee and tea out all day and night. All staff we encountered were super helpful and friendly. A full size high chair allowed us to really use and enjoy the free breakfasts. The staff tell me that an indoor full size pool, a hot tub and sauna will be opening within the next two weeks. We\'ll be back!

The property was well situated near the hospital where we had an appointment. Our room was clean as were the common areas. Being a bit older building we could hear hallway noise and people walking around in the room above us. That being said we would stay there again as things were well cared for and the location is good.

Clean room, nice bed. Noise from adjoining rooms - or above - transferred into our room...not enough sound deadening in the walls/floors. Room AC/heater controls were worn out. Just a one night stay as we passed through.

Great facility and staff and Is definitely stay here again if I was in the area. My only complaint is that the we were in a first floor room and the floor above us squeaked loudly every time the guest in the room above us moved or walked across the floor. Otherwise, everything was great.

Very Friendly and helpful - Facility well monitored - When I was having difficulty with a defective room key card the employee was monitoring, saw my problem, came to our room with a new Key Card - very proactive and customer focused. Wish I had a nickel for every time I've had to return to the front desk with a defective key card - sometimes more than once

Great little place next to a brewery. Only complaint was the keys i was at check in didnt open any outside doors nor my room, so after parking away from the front as instructed, i had to caryy everthing around the building trying each key at each door to no success. Finally made it toy room and neither key worked there either.

Rude staff, when I went to front desk to ask why there was no hot water; staff member was extremely rude and hostile. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

This trip was a family trip. The hotel itself was nice. Clean hot tub, pool and room. Ben at the front desk was very rude. Complained about owner not working and he was on 20 days straight as an excuse for his actions. The young lady working the front desk on the midnight shift very pleasant friendly and just a great personality.

We have stayed here twice and both times felt welcomed. The night clerk kindly switched rooms when we asked if there was an option on the first floor rather than the 2nd.

Enjoyed the quiet clean room. It was a good stop along my multi day journey across northern Michigan. It is close to a great trail, the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, and the nice little towns of Ishpeming and Negaunee, and not too far from the larger Marquette. It worked well as a place to stay before flying out of the Marquette airport the next day , which is only 25 mins away. I rented an e-bike from a shop in Negaunee, Love and Bikes.

The property was well situated near the hospital where we had an appointment. Our room was clean as were the common areas. Being a bit older building we could hear hallway noise and people walking around in the room above us. That being said we would stay there again as things were well cared for and the location is good.

Good location for us as we were visiting friends in Ishpeming. It's close to downtown Ishpeming as well. Good price, quiet, and nice pool!

This was a one night stay during snowmobile season — we were not one of them but many others were. The hotel is clean but with thinner walls and floors - whoever was above us seemed to sound like a party just by walking across the room. Very happy for the breakfast that was included and there is a brewery of the same name right next door. There is a gas station, oil change, and McD within walking distance too.

I loved the area around Jasper Ridge Inn. The close proximity to hiking and biking trailheads was perfect.

Clean property with parking close to the building. Breakfast included with items that you can heat yourself as well as pastries and cereal. Property is next to an RV park and has some vacation rental cabins on site too. The adjacent brewery and restaurant apparently closes quite early so there are limited dining options within easy reach.

We packed up and went down for breakfast and it was being put away before 0830. 3 kids and my wife and i went elsewhere as there wasnt enough food out to feed us all. 3 biscuits for the biscuits and gravy. No other offerings other than the boxed cereal. Wish i would have taken a photo as proof with a timestamp. I noticed others had complained about the breakfast being put away early so we went down with over a half hour before it was supposed to be done. Rooms were nice, staff was nice, pool was nice. But when spending $270 for a room, itd be great to have a breakfast as advertised.

Surprisingly nice! Clean, comfortable, and pool and sauna area was awesome! Only downside was no room in the breakfast area and people just hanging out having coffee so no room to grab food or sit...not the Inn's fault.

Pros: Very clean, room was nice. Cons: Noisy, It sounded like people were moving furniture upstairs all evening! The walls must be thin because you can hear people in the next room. Ammenities were lacking: soap was truly just a very tiny sliver, no conditioner or lotion, TP was very thin. Main breakfast consisted of premade packaged food to put in microwave. Did not taste good, but they also offered yougurt, cereal, etc. Only 5 tables of 2 chairs each, so it was hard to find a place to sit with friends.

A nice place to stay with decent sized rooms. The pool and hot tub are great amenities. My only suggestion for the Hotel is to do a little better on the breakfast, microwave eggs are definitely lacking. With that being said, I will be back soon.
