The building itself is not kept well, ceilings & other places in need of repairs. A/C doesn’t work in lobby or elevator. Staff doesn’t listen or communicate. Tries to check me out very next day when I reserved for 3 days & had extended for a fourth. Leaves v/m on 3rd day telling me to come get my belongings after I was told everything was fine until the 4th day visit & didn’t seem to care that nothing was done properly. Def won’t recommend or stay here again!

The property is in a beautiful location and has a lot of potential. The Inn looks tired and run down and needs a major face lift! Tavern had good food but again it could use a face lift. No air conditioning in the lobby or the elevator.

No one to greet us. When the person came she hardly acknowledged us. I might even say she was quite rude. Prominent sign on the front desk that there are stink bugs in the hotel and if we wanted they could vacuum our room. The lobby was cold and had chemical fragrance smell. The mens room in the lobby was not nice. We did not stay at this hotel.

I love the stately old look! Just beautiful. Only thing I found was very little handicap parking up front/near entrances and no wheelchair access (that I saw). Will be back!

Beautiful building. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only complaint would be that the restaurant and tavern was not open. Stayed here many times before always enjoyed having breakfast and late night drinks in the tavern

We liked the location to Natural Bridge. The hotel had a little historic atmosphere. The bathroom floor was dirty with long hairs left from a prior guest. The coffee maker station was not stocked. We did not eat the overpriced limited menu breakfast.

Very conveniently located. Very clean hotel. Complimentary breakfast is basic, but a pleasant surprise. The only issue is that there were bugs in the hotel room. We found several flies, a ladybug and a stinkbug. Did not bother us too much. The hotel should look into dealing with them.

The property was not updated and our room had a weird smell. My kids and wife coughed everytime we came back into the room. Very run down and not kept very clean. Staff were not that friendly.

Room was dirty and the to releave any steam from the shower. Toilet made loud screeching sounds after every flush. On sunday morning the front desk ladt refused to wait to force luggage cart into the very small elevator with us in it so we were forced out to have to take the stairs to the 3rd floor and then same again to go back down to lobby from the 3rd floor we had to use the stairs with our luggage to go chexk out. Terrible stay and defined not what was advertised adter each flush. Feont deak ladon sunday was extremely rude and

Front desk and restaurant staff were just excellent - friendly, courteous & efficient. The only complaint is that the hotel is in need of major updates & cleaning. Our room was comfortable,but the bathroom was REALLY dirty. The shower stall was dirty. The shower fixtures were covered with hard water stains. We were in a handicap accessible room that had a seat in the shower & an adjustable shower head. The seat was gross & the shower head couldn't be adjusted higher to stand under. The toilet was very dirty & leaked as well. There was chipped/peeling paint in our room & throughout the hotel. This hotel has so much history & is so close to the Natural Bridge; it deserves a proper restoration. We definitely enjoyed ourselves & will be back again. Unfortunately

Great location for visiting the Natural Bridge. Historic hotel, however Wifi very poor. Room was okay a little dated but clean with hot water etc. Only problem was the breakfast situation, supposedly free continental which only offered toast butter and jam yogurt and a bit of fruit with coffee. If the hotel had a large group staying there was a cooked buffet breakfast which was approx $17 that offered scramble eggs bacon and sausage and again the offering of toast. As this hotel is fairly remote the breakfast was very poor. For this reason I would not recommend this hotel.

This is a historic hotel so don’t expect everything to be updated and new. Older & could use a few updates. Best part of the hotel was the beds. They were the most comfortable beds of all of the hotels we stayed at. Loved them. Worst part of the hotel was the staff. Checking in they acted like we were bothering them & the manager was even right there. She never even acknowledged us or said welcome or anything. Very odd how we were treated. Not friendly at all. It was nice sitting on the balcony and seeing the beautiful mountains

The rooms are very basic and not very updated. The hotel itself is pretty though. The bar and wait staff were very friendly but the food was terrible. The only other places to really eat are 12 miles away in Lexington. Not a problem if it’s already expected. 3/5 stars overall.

This was just a overnight stay while traveling. The hotel is quiet majestic when you drive up to it. The reception desk area as well as the restaurant and tavern also impressive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. No issues there. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Ordered drinks from the bar and they were terrific. My reason for lower rating was the room. While neat and clean it needs a major make over. The bathroom was small and quiet frankly looked like it was from the 1940's! Very dated. The tub/shower had been in so long that there was no finish left to it. Very little places to put your bathroom items. The toilet was the type I used many years ago in basic training while in the military. But like I said, was neat and clean. The bed was mostly comfortable, but the pillows were like small hard boards. Very hard to sleep on. Also were no curtains on the windows, just venetian blinds. So at night all the outside light streamed into the room making it so bright you didnt need a light to see. Black out cutrains would be in order for that room! Really the room we stayed in was basically a old fashioned motel. Definitely not worth the $160 we spent there. We did have a complimentary breakfast in the morning which was good. I do not recommend the coffee though!

At check in we were badly treated and insulted by the female front desk person. First when my wife went to the desk at 2:30pm she was told to come back at 3:30pm. We sat and walked around till 3:30pm. At that time again I was told in an extremely rude manner to come back at 4pm. I told the woman she had a very bad attitude . I told her I wanted to speak to the manager and she responded in a very I dont care attitude "I am the manager".She is a very bad representative of the hotel. As we sat in the lobby at virtually the stroke of 4:00pm the desk clerk told us our room was ready! My wife and I have never been treated so poorly at check in. We will never ever stay at a Wyndham property. We would not recommend this property due to the staff!

The front desk checked me in by mistake when another traveler was checking and gave away my room. No other room types that I booked were available. They then proceed to tell me that I was getting an upgrade and the room was a simple 2 queen bed room. With a view of a large HVAC unit right outside of the window. Very disappointing. The whole check in process was a disappointment. Why ask people for their ID’s if you don’t match it to the reservation? Will think twice before coming back to this place.

I had a minor issue with not getting all 4 breakfast vouchers that I ordered with my room reservation. I brought this to the attention of the front desk attendant. She quickly corrected the issue and apologized for the error. I went to the front desk to get ice because there was an issue with the ice machine on the floor I was staying on. I waited only a moment for the front desk attendant to show up when the woman vacuuming stopped and asked if I needed help then proceeded to get me ice from the kitchen. She was not the front desk attendant, she was just being helpful. I really appreciated that.

Hotels have gotten out of the hospitality business and natural bridge is no exception. Had to ask for towels and toilet paper daily. Baseboards and drawers were filthy. Stayed because rates and no availability in Lynchburg as were in for a graduation but will not be returning. This hotel could so some renovating, change some staff and accept back the old practices of hospitality and become a destination spot that customers would return to again and again. Unfortunately, you are missing the mark.

I booked the same room type for the way through and the way back. The first night was the room I booked, but kitchen nor Tavern was open. They did not let me know that at time of booking. Had to supper on over priced chips. The way back the lady at the counter tried to put us in dungeon type room she said that I booked for handicap access. Was very rude when I questioned and asked for the room that I booked, which was a room with a Mountain View. Got put in a room in the back of the hotel. Was given one key card, when asked for a second one got an attitude. Later saw two different couples checking in. One average, one more wealth. First couple got dungeon room second couple got Mountain View.

The location is perfect and the history in the hotel very cool. The lobby and restaurant area are very nice but the rooms are very simple and outdated. Small bathroom pedestal sink, the wait staff in the bar/tavern was very slow and disorganized. I had to wait a while then finally ask how to get seated outside. Once I got ti a table it was a while for the waiter to get there and when he did he seemed very tired, sweaty, and overwhelmed. Steak was delicious, green beans were from a can. I would stay here again for the location and because from the outside the hotel is extremely impressive looking but just know it’s not fancy!

OMG. THIS HOTEL IS SOOOOOO NICE. EVERYTHING IS GREAT AND YOU JUST HAVE TO WALK ACROSS THE STREET FOR THE ENTRANCE OF THE NATURAL BRIDGE.

I love the history of the building. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was cordial. What I will say is I went down to the dining room in the morning to get 2 coffees. I decided to grab a muffin and some eggs which I was charged $25. The eggs were cold and tasted horrible, so they were thrown in the garbage. Also, I went to walk the dog at 5 in the morning and the floor was so slippery in the hallway in front of the kitchen I almost fell. When I went to come back in the back door was locked and would not unlock with key card. I had to walk around the building to get back in.

Hotel, ws great the bar attached was great friendly service and nice food, would have liked more vegetarian option but what was on offer was okay, however the breakfast at $16.99 per head was awful, very little choice at all and no vegetarian choice, just a load of fried stuff, no fruit cereals, bread or pastries very poor for the money. Saying it is an all you can eat buffet is all well and good, but there was nothing I wanted to eat.

Overall it was a very nice historic hotel - location to Natural Bridge Park was very convenient. Unfortunately breakfast was not available on the day we visited and we were not notified of this other than a note posted on the dining room door that morning - which was very disappointing

You get a glimpse of its previous grandeur but it’s a little less pristine now. But still nice. And very convenient to the park which is really fantastic. The restaurant offerings are meh- but the balcony is lovely for drinks at sunset.

Hotel is hot and musty and feels like could be condemned. Room was not comfortable and very old beds. Breakfast at hotel the worst. Took over an hour to get food which was absolutely terrible. Would have been better going to gas station to food. My room was over 200 dollars and should have been less than 25!

This is a nice and well kept historical property. The room was clean and pleasant. It had a great shower. The bed was plush and comfortable. I enjoyed looking through the room with historical memorabilia next to the office. The visitors center and trail for the natural bridge were right across the street. The only downside was the food at the restaurant was terrible, although the proprietors were very kind.

While the location fit my needs, the property was both worn and tired. They were seriously understaffed, the dining room experience was questionable. While the service was fine, the food was sub par and served cold. One dish was canceled as it did not make it out of the kitchen. The steak, advertised as a ribeye, was a joke - dry, thin, tough and tasteless. The dessert saved my tastebuds. Bath and facial tissue extremly poor quality. Having spent years in the hospitality business, it is hard to believe this property is up to Wyndham standards.

The dining options were very limited and the actual menu did not coincide with the posted menu. The waitress was very open about the new cook coming from Virginia Military Institute dining facility and he was "used to cooking for young cadets." She stated he was hit and miss on some of the main entrees...of which there were few. Also, the property is very stingy with bathroom soaps (the size of a Ritz Cracker and about a 1-2oz bottle of body wash for 2 people.
