Comfort Inn Chester - Richmond South

I got there on Friday and they couldn't find my reservation after i showed them my confirmation number everything which took about 15-25 mins. My wife was using the treadmill in the fitness area and it just stopped out of nowhere and could of hurt herself. When we went to the front desk, they didn't seen concern about it and told us that she will leave the facilities people know and didn't put a out of order on the equipment either. Also, did know that VSU students were staying in the hotel which they were loud at points of the night. NOT A GOOD STAY.

Felt dirty and everything seemed to be pulling away from the walls that was supposed to be attached. Treadmill was broken and other gym equipment was very damaged.

Pool was nice and worm, other guest where nice. The room would need renovations, there as a big hole in the carpet. The elevator next to our room was out of service so we had to walk all the way to the other side of the hotel. It wasn't the cleanest or up to date hotel of the chain. There is definitly better for similar price in the area. On the upside, we got to try the mexican restaurant next door which was really good with amazing service!

The room was ok the back door was broken so anyone could just walk in the hotel. There was no house keeping the 2 nd day I was there

Comfort inn is a great place to stay. The front desk staff get the job done, the people who run the breakfast are angels, and all the cleaning staff are friendly and cool. There is no easy or safe way to walk to shops or cycle so for people coming from overseas, be prepared for a very car-centric locale. There is a laundry machine and dryer on the fifth floor that works well. There is a bad smoke smell sometimes in certain halls and the expectations of guests are not laid out clearly which might be nerve-wracking.

It was clean but the elevator was broken. Good vending and ice machines. Decent parking.

The property was beneficial under the circumstances. My family and I needed a last minute hotel and this one was available at a fair rate. The staff was great and the children enjoyed the pool, but all in all the hotel needs renovating. There was only one elevator working, it was hot throughout the hotel, there’s rust throughout the bathrooms, ceilings cracking and peeling, tub filled with water as you showered, and the lights constantly flickered. It was not the worst hotel and it was fairly clean. But you can tell it’s an older hotel.

The main entry doors don’t lock on the rear of the property, only one elevator is in service at the far end of the building, the doors, elevators and whatnot are in disrepair. Would not recommend.

The pool was so nasty and they only have 1 elevator working . Morning breakfast was gross

The property was in need of repairs. The elevator was not working, it had leaks from the ceiling around the dinning area, there were buckets catching the water dripping from the ceiling and my room 104 had mold behind the bathroom door, and the rug was wet outside of the bathroom, looks like from leaks.

Very dirty, my first room had what appeared to be a red stain on the wall. I told the front desk and the sent a cleaning lady to clean it up. I thought that was just a mistake so I moved on. Was very exhausted after checking in. Went to sleep because I had an early start the next morning. After I came back to the room from handling what I had to do that morning I noticed tiny red bugs crawling on the desk next to the window by the A/C unit. I killed it, then noticed a lot more on the A/C unit itself. I immediately started packing up and went to the front desk to complain and demand another room. Apron exiting the room my family noticed a pair of dirty underwear underneath the bed. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. After transferring to the other room and shaking out everything in hopes we didn’t bring anything with us from the last room. We were ready to shower and go to bed and the shower had no shower curtain. At that point I just wanted the nightmare to come to an end as I closed my eyes and clicked my heels and said “there’s no place like home “I told my family we’re just going to get through the night because we’re checking out tomorrow. But after this experience I probably will never stay at another Comfort Inn again. And I will never stay at that place again. I asked to speak to a manager three times and every time no manager was available. Nasty Work!!!!!

I had to change rooms because the A/C wasn’t working, the bathtub was peeling and the plaster was peeling off the walls by the shower rods. The ceiling over the shower was leaking. They showed me another room and the bathroom was filled with mold. They upgraded me to a suite and that was raggedy also and the cable in the bedroom didn’t work. It was the most horrible hotel experience I’ve ever had.

During my stay i had bed bugs in my bed. I felt something on me. Looked and it was a bed bug on my arm! We called the front desk to report what was going on. He hung up the phone on me and my daughter when we was informing him about the bed bugs. After call customer relations. He changed my room. To 3 rooms down. And that was all.

It was an all-around horrible stay! There were obnoxious high schoolers there. Playing knock, knock, ditch until at least 11:00pm. That entire hotel and hotel property is trash! There are absolutely disgusting rooms here. I immediately requested to have a new room. There were multiple burn stains on the carpet. Four pillows and pillowcases were stained yellow and brown. (Why would you ever put those out?!) The shower had nasty mold, as did my second room. The floors are sticky, and parts of the carpeting are, too. I would never put food in either room mini fridge. The only positive during this was Josh. He was very kind, calm, professional, and helpful. As well as that super kind old school black lady. She's great, professional, hard working, etc.

This property is very dirty and old. Rugs were worn and dirty, beds were old and uncomfortable, lobby and hallways were dirty, bathroom was dirty and looked liked it was wiped down with a dirty rag. There were zero redeeming qualities. Very disappointed that Comfort Inn would allow this place to display their Logo.

Reviews are nothing as to how the hotel is. Room smelled bad. Old furniture, ac wasn’t functioning properly in the room. Dirty furniture with stains. Mold in bathroom ceiling. To top it off room door was easily pushed in to open without the key.

Bit by bedbugs

There were roaches on bathroom door & furniture was filthy!

Customer services was horrible! They also could not accommodate me when I asked to switch my room due to it being noticeable BLOOD on the linen!

nothing what we didn't like: rugs were wet, ceiling showed signs of mold or water stains, pillows and room smelled musty, no water pressure in bathroom sink, walls and bathroom sink cabinet had chips and looked very worn, maid left dirty glove in garbage and a bottle of cleaning solution by the television (which did not work), garbage by pool was not emptied and taken away and the elevator has seen better days, room had no curtains to close for privacy other than the see through curtains that were already in place, hallway needs to be renovated and I had to join some sort of membership to get wi-fi which I did not do even though it claimed it was free. whatever wi-fi I did get was not a mirror image of what I get at home.

Average no frills stay but it was all we were looking for. Breakfast had a waffle machine so that was a bit with our daughter. Room needs updating but the staff was very nice there.

The room was adequate. Clean and comfort able. The hall was noisy with doors loudly closing at all hours of the night. After a long day of traveling, did not get a restful night of sleep.

Place was okay, only thing that really sucked was the room never got cool

Very comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Air condition worked very nicely. Front desk was friendly and quick. Halls had interesting smells but not put-offish.

Convenient location next to plenty of food and shopping. However cell service wasn’t great and free internet didn’t work along with the cable being glitchy and couldn’t really watch tv.

TV was broken, sofa bed was stained. Free Breakfast is good and room is spacious.

The hotel was ok, it was a older hotel

Place is nit as pictured. Bathroom sink would not drain. Room smelled like smoke. Elevator smelled like throw up. One was out of order.

The beds hurt my back

Everything was great except There was a smell in the corridors. Smelled like mold it was overwhelming. Rooms though we're clean and it smelled good. Breakfast was good as well. Staff were very helpful

This hotel was terrible. Rooms were nasty . The front was rude and ignorant. No smiles . Only ppl that were nice and provided great service were the dining ppl and especially Miss Geraldine. Very nice lady .

Had to wait over 30 minutes in line to check in while they fixed issues for multiple people. Issues they had to fix ranged from a group that paid for a 2 Queen or king sized beds room and were assigned a room with one bed, a group that had a filthy room, and a girl that couldn’t use the in room towels because they we’re obviously used and visibly dirty. When it was finally our turn to check in we endured listening to the manager on duty and the lady checking us in having heated arguments about how to do things. The hotel in general smelled weird and the room smelled bad too. Definitely do not recommend

My wife and I checked in on Friday at around 8pm. I booked a king room. We got to the room and it was a double. I called the front desk, and the male agent tried to tell me that I probably booked a double room. I assured him that I know what type of room I booked. Then he told me that hotels.com made a mistake. I went down to the front desk to show him that hotels.com had me booked for a king room. Then he told me that we’re free to check for a king room at other hotels in the area. Very unprofessional. The only good thing about this hotel is Geraldine who works in the cafeteria. She was very pleasant and very helpful. The front desk agent can learn a lot from her. The shower curtain was dirty. The toilet seat looked like it was 30 years old. And there was a small spider running around inside the TV screen.

Enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. Our flight got in earlier then check in which was at 3pm they allowed us to check in a few hours early which was a convenience. As soon as you walk in you can smell the cleanliness and was always seeing someone cleaning the grounds as well. I felt safe having my family there. It was very quiet. The vending machines was For mini options, the breakfast was phenomenal. The front desk was very friendly and housekeeping as well as far as the location there’s lots of gas stations not many restaurants so we did have to do a little traveling to eat out the highway to Richmond or other areas is convenient and very close the beds I think had nice Soft bedding the shower was very clean bathroom everything was A-OK. The only downside was the pool was closed which was a little disappointing considering the weather was very nice. Was told that it will be open after memorial day don’t let the name of the hotel for you I definitely give it , a five star if the pool was open

Property ran down. Ask for towels in am after i had gave them my dirty ones. Came to give me towels 5 hours later. Checkin service was horrible

This property was literally unbelievable. I never actually stayed because upon arrival I was told they didn't have any rooms available. I made a prepaid reservation through Expedia and the funds were already taken upon my arrival. There was another guest at the front desk speaking to Araia the front desk attendant about her room and the issue she was having with her sink. I'm traveling with a 3 and 5 year old and it's 11pm. The women said she had driven 14hrs and we both just needed somewhere to rest. After speaking with her manager she was told to open up a room that was booked for the next day. I'm given room 101. When I enter the room I find an oxygen concentrater and an oxygen tank sitting in the middle of the floor and a dirty bathroom. Literally, what can you say lol. I go to the desk and speaks with Araia and she states " that's all we have as if thats even an option. I could go on further but I'm saving the rest for CNN. It doesn't get any worst than this!!!

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating. Apparently this is family run and they do work as a great team. I had no complaints. I enjoyed my stay. Don Pepe's is on the same parking lot. Once we checked in, we were too tired to go out again. Had a great meal.

This property is very near to interstate freeway and close to marketplace. Lots of dining and shopping options around. Rooms are ok, one of the elevators was always stuck and noisy.

Just south of Richmond, with a decent Mexican restaurant on the edge of the car park. A number of restaurants and gas stations nearby Hotel needs some updating, but generally clean. Elevators are at either end of the building. Breakfast was not bad with cheese omelettes and sausage or burgers.

Convenient to the highway.

This was surprisingly good...for the price, and sometimes that's exactly what you need when you're just sleeping and showering. It's close enough to Richmond and Busch Gardens to save some $$$ on a room for a few nights.

I had no issues, not a high end place. But, the price was good and it was right off 95.

Saturday was okay, the double room beds were incredibly firm. Breakfast was disappointing. The waffle maker only had a cinnamon apple batter, which would be good when it's the holidays, but not for a warmer day like we've had during our stay. No bacon and the omelette wasn't warm enough.

The room was nice but the beds were soft and noisy. The bathroom sink faucet was loose and the plug for the shower very hard to pull up. Breakfast was good.

The property is dated and lacks basic maintenance. Washroom had moldy and missing caulking, sink had a crack, exhaust fan was non functioning, and shower head hanging loose, to name a few. Went to breakfast area in the morning and the waffle machine didn't work. Seems as if the elevator has not been deodorized in a while, the rear door has visible smudges, and the list goes on and on. The Comfort Inn brand is strong and I've had better experiences in the past with this chain, but clearly not all properties in this chain are created equal. I felt I paid twice as much as a night stay at this property should've cost.
