Best Western Niantic - New London, Mystic Area

Easy check in even when I arrived late. Looks like the rooms have been renovated. Room was very nice and clean. Breakfast included. Lots of parking. Right off I-95. Starbucks nextdoor and gas station across the street

The elevator was not working and elderly people had to use the stairs. The breakfast was awful as well.

The hotel is very clean and conveniently located to a highway but there is massive construction happening directly in front that makes it difficult to find the entrance - unlevel pavement and raised manhole covers (hard to see at night) make this a challenge course. If I had known, I would have booked another property for this visit. I should have been notified.

Pool was not working and another group checking in complained and got 10% off their stay. I was tired of waiting so did not feel like arguing but it should have been applied across the board

We were showing at MVHC and the hotel was perfect. Breakfast included started too late for us though at 7 am- had to leave at 630 am. Very clean and fitness room is very nice for this level of hotel. Would stay there again- lots of good restaurants nearby

Clean, recently renovated. Rooms dont have carpeting. Shower door stuck which remarkable didn't make everything wet but could have.

The hotel was very quiet and clean

Across street from property is industrial and/or doing a lot of work cranes and a lot of construction material. Main issue we had was the bathroom it smelled horrible. ( almost like a cesspool back up) it was disgusting. Another issue I had was when I called the front desk to request wash clothes ( for shower) they brought up cleaning microfiber clothes( didn’t make and sense)

Such a shame. The property seems very clean and new, but the place must be made of cardboard because everything is audible. The layout of the hallway reverberates all of the door slamming happening up and down the hallway, and neighbors upstairs and next-door can be hurt through the thin walls and flooring. Would not stay here again.

Nice room, everything seemed new and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was also very nice and in excellent condition.

I only got a room here to have somewhere cold to sleep at night local to my family beach house that my dog was welcome. I also planned to sleep the last day prior to driving 6-8 hours home. The one thing that was an issue was the AC. It seemed to rarely kick on and kept kicking the heat on without me even touching the thermostat. So that was frustrating, up and down all night trying to mess with the AC. I was moved rooms for my last not even full day there and the AC was still a hassle. I didn’t get but an hour of sleep before driving home. The room I was moved to the AC made a loud double clicking noise both in the front room and bedroom everytime it kicked on. It woke me up right as I fell asleep which was beyond frustrating when I just needed to sleep that day for a few hours. I gave up after one hour of sleep before leaving and regretted even moving rooms for a few hours. Otherwise, it was very clean and newly renovated. Definitely the nicest most updated best western I have stayed at but the AC situation made it more frustrating than comfortable. If you enjoy a cold environment to sleep then you will be disappointed- 68 degrees is basically what it allowed from what I was told. I couldn’t sleep with the loud thermostat noise at all for the time I needed to sleep the most, before driving.

Clean, renovated rooms. Perfect for one night stay to visit the casino. Walls are thin so be sure to pack earplugs. The bathroom sink faucet made the entire sink area wet.

When we arrived at our hotel we found a newly renovated, very clean and comfortable room. Additionally, we especially like the updated flooring that did not include carpeting. Bathrooms were also newly renovated and found the bed and bedding very comfortable. Furthermore, the breakfast was good and including in the cost of our stay.

Supposed to be handicapped room. Had to go buy a step stool to get on the bed because it was not handicapped accessible. Black out shade came crashing down at 2:30 AM. Control didn’t work to get it back up. Phone in the room didn’t work. No instructions on checking out. The room felt like a prison cell.

I chose to stay at the Best Western Niantic for one night during a business trip based on reviews. Staff was pleasant and helpful. My room was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, it was quiet, and I slept very well. That's a win for me! I did not eat the breakfast because of time, but it looked like a plentiful and decent assortment of food. I would stay here again if I need to be in that part of the state in the future.

Check in service was very slow, since the front desk was not there. We had to wait 10 minutes, while other people waited at least 25 minutes.

This hotel is very clean. staff are friendly. It's conveniently located and affordable. We have stayed multiple times and plan to stay there again soon when we visit the area again.

We had a wedding in the area and wanted to stay close as we live 2 hours away. We arrive 19 minutes before 3 and were greeted with a cold woman who stated that check in was not until 3 o'clock and we may not check in until then. We left un-checked in and returned after our event. We agree that she was following policy, but I would not use this hotel again based on her rudeness.

I can honestly tell you that I have stayed at many Best Westerns in my life and this was by far the worst one I have ever stayed at. It was so bad that I had to call corporate and report them. Their elevator was broken every other day for weeks on end. There were so many elderly people walking up and down the stairs and pushing their luggage up the parking lot. The hotel never informed us that my mother had zero access to anything because she cannot take the stairs, and the elevators were constantly broken. My mother needed an ADA wheelchair accessible room and they gave that to her. But, the phone didn’t work in her room and she was not able to access any of the continental breakfast until my husband and I got to the hotel. We had to have many heated conversations with them until they decided to start bringing her breakfast in the morning, which should’ve been one of the very first things that they did. We informed them that the phone didn’t work and they did nothing about it. When we arrived at the property, we noticed that the front desk staff was laying all over the furniture in the lobby and as soon as we entered, they jumped up and went behind the counter. The management staff here is extremely unprofessional. The housekeeping staff is lovely. We will never be staying at this property again and we will make sure that we tell family and friends the same.

Both women working at the front desk were rude and certainly not helpful! I booked this hotel because of the outdoor pool during our trip to Mystic. Checkout was 11 am. We were told we could not use the pool after 11. I have NEVER had a hotel not allow facilities used on Checkout date!!! But they allow a different guest a large pool gathering with food being grilled!!! I have pictures!!! My room was not cleaned. Was told you need 24 hours notice to have new towels, trash emptied ect... I will NEVER stay with this hotel chain again! I went away to relax not clean or cook your so called free breakfast!

i like this property very clean. The mgr is always very friendly.

We were not told that you had to order housekeeping at check in so after our first night, we didn't have any clean towels. Tried to get housekeeping after that, but never could. Never had our trash brought out, no clean towels, beds never made, ran out of toilet paper.....We were there for three nights and the lack of housekeeping was definitely an issue. If we had known, we would not have booked there.

This property is easily located off I95 with just as easy to get back on 95. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Great location, very clean and perfect if you are visiting CGA nearby

The area is not the greatest right now because of all the construction. However, the property was remodeled recently and it is very nice and clean and the staff was helpful and friendly for the most part. However, we ran out of toilet paper on our second night there and apparently only housekeeping has access to toilet paper, so we had to make a last minute run to Walmart before they closed for the day so we could have toilet paper for the night, which was inconvenient as we were getting ready to go to bed for the night. Other than that we had no.complaints.

Easy on, easy off the highway. Presently there is road construction so it slows things down but not majorly. Minutes from the USCGA, downtown NL and Niantic. About 20-30 minutes from the casinos. I highly recommend this place.

This is super-convient for our needs - 15 mins to New London and Groton submarine bases and friends in Niantic. Plus leaving town pick-up from Flanders Fish Market.

Easy access off interstate, clean, quiet, very comfortable bed. View out window was paving debris and a dumpster but quiet.

The price and location (right off the highway) was perfect.

We travel very frequently, This was probably the very worst breakfast experience we have ever had. I usually stay next store at the Sleep Inn which is always a pleasant experience, but I decided to give the best western a shot since I heard the breakfast is usually very good...So I spent the extra $50 for two nights as opposed to the hotel next door.....Well regretted it immediately once breakfast came. very limited healthy food selections, not even a single piece of fresh fruit either day. Undercooked and not edible breakfast meats, a waffle iron that either undercooked the waffles no salt, not even napkins. Also, the gym did not open until 8 am, very inconvenient for people that need an early work out, I will not be returning. I will say the room was clean and the housekeeping service did a nice job, but next time I will save money and stay next door again.

Check in was ok. Went to our room, It was very clean, I checked it well but it had an odd smell we could not get rid of. Beds were very firm, too firm. Breakfast was the worst hotel buffet breakfast I’ve ever had. I don’t expect much from hotel breakfast but this wasn’t even edible. The area is not conducive to a crowd. The food is in a small room that doesn’t fit many. It’s backed up and impossible to move around in with other people. The selection was very limited and what they did have, like the eggs, were truly terrible. Our stay was ok but we didn’t sleep great and had to go out for breakfast daily.

Check in was ok except no coffee, pot was covered up and out of order. Could barely hear the person at front desk, it was so loud in the room attached to lobby kept having to ask what did you say. Room was decent, bed was uncomfortable for my taste way too soft. Pool was very clean, no shade not even a umbrella for tables. The restroom/ shower for the pool area was strange. No door just a curtain to pull back. Not safe to me. First night there no hot water. Complained and they say they would check into it. We weren't the only ones. About 2 hours later finally got hot water, but they never came up or called us. We had to keep trying the water. Very unacceptable breakfast the first morning. Came down 45 minutes after breakfast started and nothing. No coffee, no waffle mix, few pieces of bread, no plates, no cups. I went to front desk and they were like the person that runs it is late you'll have to wait. Come on someone has to know how to do something, you have all these people waiting and can't do anything. One of reasons we booked here was the full buffet breakfast, wasnt expecting a great breakfast isnt my first time at a hotel buffet, but was expecting something. Finally about another 30 minutes we started getting food. Personal note no sugar free syrup. Close to Mystic Area about 15min drive, that was a plus. Had a Starbucks right at the end of driveway, if you perfer a coffee place.

Very nice property…beautiful place with awesome people…special mention to all the kitchen staff and front desk staff…the rooms were huge and with excellent attention to details…the bathrooms were super clean…overall a very satisfying stay…
