Eastland Suites Hotel & Conference Center - Urbana

The room was beautiful and perfect size for our family. The pool was great and very big to accommodate all the guests. Staff was polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much and will be back in the future.

Read the reviews and was genuinely concerned but was pleasantly surprised by the service and cleanliness of the room. Check-in was fast even with three check-ins in front on me. Rooms were clean and simple. Pool was great.

Place is old but looked slightly updated, smelled really strongly of cleaning products, ice machines didn’t work, the bar was not open, strong marijuana smell in some areas.

The staff were so friendly at check in and super professional. They had someone complaining about them not serving liquor and they handled it with grace and kindness. The room had tons of space and the pool was really big!

Nice large pool, clean room. Ice machine is broken, some areas dark and rundown, breakfast options were average.

Had to drive to the pool and gym. The gym is in need of a lot of repairs. There was nothing to do dishes with, only one fork in the room the rest were spoons.

Room clean. Ice machines didn’t work. No elevator. Nice for a night but no more.

my favorite is the swimming pool - it's heated!! just right temperature can swim right on out-dated hotel and bathroom design doesn't really make sense. however, it's clean! front desk clerk could be more friendly and it took a while to process when tho they found our name not sure why for this price tho, I'd stay again continental breakfast pretty good

I stayed here 9/3-9/5, and I was awoken by bugs eating me alive 9/5 at 1 AM. I immediately checked out and had to purchase another hotel for the night. I demand a refund for my stay.

The room smelled like mold. The bathroom door was so warped from water damage it didn't close all the way. And there was a cockroach crawling across the wall. The best part of the stay was that gave me my money back easily for the second night.

We arrive for check-in, our room was reserved months in advance yet they needed credit card info again and we had to put down a $100 security deposit which we've never had to do at any other hotel. We go to the room, inspect it, felt it was passable. Go get our bags and come back to the room only for our key card to no longer work on that door. Go back to the front desk, come to find out we went to the wrong room... but why did it open the first time for us? So then we go to the right room and its not what we reserved. Supposed to be 1 King bed and kitchenette, but it had 2 Queens and no kitchenette. So we go back to the front desk and have them give us the correct room that ended up being on the opposite side of the complex. The room was dusty, stove top burners were unusable (damaged), linen/towels had stains and looked used, bathroom was dirty, used bars of soap still in shower. Went back to the front desk to inform them, they said housekeeping would be over right away. We left for 2 hours and came back, housekeeping had still not been there. We clean the room ourselves then go back to front desk in the morning for fresh linen again since we didn't receive any on day 1 and they finally have someone bring us fresh linen. What's even worse is this cost us about $200 a night plus $100 deposit that haven't received back yet. Could've gotten better service for much cheaper at a Motel. Would NEVER stay at an Eastlakes hotel again

I was extremely dissatisfied, disappointed, and disgusted with my stay here. From the very beginning, this property was misleading and unprofessional. When booking, the website clearly stated the pet fee was $10 per night. A day before arrival, after struggling to even reach someone by phone, I was told $25. At check-in, the receptionist told me $50, then suddenly changed it to $20. They are clearly making up prices. On top of that, the receptionist laughed in my face, denied I had called, and was completely rude and dismissive. I booked two rooms, and both had serious issues. One room had no toilet paper, so I had to walk to the front desk for help. Even worse, there was a sewing needle left on the floor that my sister stepped on and injured herself. We later found a cockroach in the bathroom. When reported, staff rudely denied it, even though we had proof. The pillows smelled awful, and when we asked for new ones, we were told, “they don’t smell.” Other problems included the ice machine on our floor not working, forcing us to go hunting on another floor just to get ice. On top of that, the bleach fumes in the room were overpowering upon entry and made it difficult to breathe — extremely dangerous for my sister who has severe asthma. This property was dirty, unsafe, and had some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Between the health hazards, dishonesty, and overall lack of care, I left completely disgusted. I would never recommend anyone stay here.

The room had trash that was not emptied and stains on the sheets. The TV did not work either.

Extra fee at check in for CC use. AC not on in room and it was 85 degrees. Crusty substances and hair in the bed. No pillow cases on pillows. Broken sidewalks and paving tripping hazards, and rotting wood railings. ‘Housekeeping’ non existent. Only good thing was front desk was pleasant and he gave me my money back without argument when we had to checkout without staying after we clearly were not ever going to get clean bedding. Another woman was requesting a refund and leaving at the same time. So it wasn’t just us. I’ve made do in some rough places…here,we just couldn’t even stay.

Bathroom and sheets were full of hair when we got there. Smoke alarm was beeping - had to call front desk to complain,had to have sheets changed and bathroom cleaned TWICE because still had hair all over the floor after first request. There was also part of a bandaid wrapper on the tub and everything was dusty. After we first called the front desk and didn’t get quick response, we just asked maintenance and housekeeping ourselves to fix things.

The pictures posted are nothing like the hotel. They have used AI pictures. The room had a foul smell, the carpet and sheets on the bed had stains. Very unkept.

It was better than I was expecting g. I thought it would be a king bed with a sofa pullout, but it was a two story suite with a king, queen, AND sofa sleeper, and two full baths. It also has a kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator. It is on the outskirts of Urbana, about a 7 minute drive from main campus. The problem was that it was not well cleaned by the staff. I found a dirty facecloth hanging on the shower curtain rod. It looked a little old butt I didn’t go home with any little critters. I would book it again as it is a great deal and close to good food options, a Walgreens. from the UofI main campus.

We stayed for moms weekend at UIUC. They lobby looked nice, but I didn’t spend much time there. Our room had a small rca tv not great picture and the beds were not comfortable (the felt like sofa bed quality). However the hotel was pretty clean, it was quiet in the hallways, and it offered the basics that we needed for the night. The rooms are pretty big they are just outdated.

The check-in staff member was very nice and helpful. Check in was smooth and efficient. The hotel really needs upgrading! The website shows a newer remodeled lobby, common areas and a couple remodeled rooms, however our room was not that. There were no facial tissue or paper towels and there was garbage in the trash cans. The T.V. was just plain sad. It was so small and far away from the bed, it was pointless to try to watch anything unless you sat on the couch. The room was very spacious and clean and was fine for a one night sleep, however. The location of the hotel is a bit sketchy as well.

It was pretty clean and the amenities and room were nice. Location is close to campus. My only complaint is that other guests were loud, and I also didn’t love that my room on the ground floor had a sliding glass door to the outside. Between the noise and the door, I had enough anxiety to not have a great night’s sleep.

Pool was nice, but the TV did not work and nobody came to fix it after notifying the front desk. Could not contact the hotel by phone, nobody ever answered.

Did not like the LOUD A/C fan and couldn't get rid of the dampness in the room even though we followed the instructions they had posted on the unit. Also the bathroom fan was LOUD and did not take the moisture out. The pillows were too big and hard. The new owners need to do many room improvements.

It was hard to find the property. The name does not match the listing on Expedia. The property was really dark and not well lit or marked. Customer service was okay. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom could use an update - there was mold in the shower, the toilet was not well secured, and the sink wasn’t set in the counter.

There were stains on the carpet and doors/doorways in room have seen better days. Bedding is low quality. They offered a nice breakfast. Rooms on ground floor had patio doors for letting pets out easily. We didn’t use the pool so not sure what it was like, but it’s nice to have if we planned on staying longer than using it to get a little sleep on our way through. Staff was friendly.

Horrible check-in process. They apparently picked busy moms day weekend to transition to a new software network. This means that no one was able to pay direct with a credit card. They forced everyone to either pay cash or go onto a sus website to complete the transaction and input credit card online which was not preferable. On top of that slow WiFi meant it took several attempts to get online. Each guest therefore took 10-15 min to check-in. I was in line for an hour and a half with only 8 or 9 guests ahead of me and resulted in being late to one of my daughter’s campus events. Totally unacceptable!

We could not check in. There were 20 people in line some of which had been waiting hours for keys to the rooms. Staff were not speaking or offering any explanations. One woman in line had been in a room but wanted a refund due to bedbugs. Do not stay here.

Room was old and needed renovated Mold on ceilings in bathroom, Wood was rotten behind door next to tub, see below tile, felt like floor going to cave in while in shower. Not 1 ice machine worked. Breakfast was COLD! Check in was a nightmare, they added a 3% fee for using a credit card after the Hotel.com rate. They made copies of my Driver's License for their records. I have never had this at any of the 1000 hotel stays I've stayed in previous years. They said this was a local police dept requirement. In was a sketchy area, had slots in bar and common area, people coming and going from street to play. On you own you for security, parking and walking around?? Just a basic below standard hotel for an elevated rate for the weekend football game!

Disaster on check in. No credit card machine. Had to pay cash. No receipt when asked. Gave me a key that didn't work (fortunately) to a room already occupied

Now they won’t answer calls from Expedia so Expedia won’t issue a refund even though the frontdesk staff said they would issue full refund. This is a scam by the hotel and Expedia. All Expedia said was they couldn’t get in touch with the property. - we checked in 12:30am. There was a bunch of Sunflower seed peels in front of check in counter. Two people folding bath towels as we walked into the front door on a table that was part of the dining area where breakfast was to be served. - First room Rm314 was not cleaned. Trash on floor. Used towels everywhere. Bed not made. - Nathan at front desk gave me 317. As we walked up, four people with cleaning tools and supplies were leaving. - No shampoo except a half used individual sized shampoo. Called to get shampoo and conditioners delivered to the room - No sheet underneath the blanket between bed sheet and blanket. So the blanket was just flipped over. Called to get new sheets to put on the bed ourselves. - Dead fly on the floor. Live bug ran across the bathroom floor. Kitchen floor stuck to bottom of shoes. No paper towels in the full kitchen. - Black ring inside the bath tub. Grey water marks behind towel rack above toilet. - 9am on 8/21, contacted Expedia to ask for refund. They called for half an hr and no one answered. - Morning staff claimed Expedia called corporate office. Requested refund with morning staff again. Names are Sourage and Admidth. - Admidth promised he had asked corporate to issue full refund.

When I arrived, there was a long line, but the check-in procedure was quite efficient and went very quickly.

They NEED to get better with desk service. The process to check in is AWFUL. Super time consuming. You have GOT to get that under control. I think I spent 30-40 minutes in line. You MUST COMMUNICATE with the people in line so they know what is going on. No communication. Had to go back because my keycard didn't work. Was 2nd in line and not acknowledged. Took forever at 11pm at night. GOOD THINGS: Rooms are modern, clean and quiet. Good coffee in room. I did not have the complimentary breakfast but it looked like a more elevated experience from continental.

I had multiple reservations for this hotel. They checked me in for the wrong night. I was also informed that there is now an 3% upcharge to use a credit card, even though my rate is guaranteed through hotels.com. It's only guaranteed if you pay cash. The room was smokey smelling and at 1:00 am neighbors played extremely loud music. There was a random overturned grill outside of our room and the breakfast area trash can had flies buzzy around it.

Overall not a bad hotel for a quick trip in to see a UIUC football game. Hotel is a bit rundown & a little off the beaten track. Beds were comfortable & the staff helpful. Fairly good experience & reasonably priced.

Convent to freeway

Nice hotel not too many bells and whistles. The outside of the property leaves a lot to be desired but the inside and rooms are clean but outdated. Overall a decent place to stay

The room itself was newly renovated with fresh paint and carpet, nothing fancy. Busses would drop people off that must work in the area. The halls were noisy. Many people were standing outside. A food truck was parked on sight and many people were sitting outside eating. Just did not feel comfortable.

We stay here a lot while traveling to see family. The price is good. It is usually very clean . The beds are comfortable. It’s close to everything.

They make you pay an extra 3% if using a credit card. They also have a $100 incidental refundable if you use Expedia. The area outside of the hotel looks super sketchy and dark. My beds were both unmade when we came into the room. This place used to be much better

The room itself was fine but there was just an uneasy feeling about the area, the transient setup in the parking lot and the many rules at check-in - like this property had issues in the past. Breakfast was ok.

Beautiful large complex picked it because it had a restaurant on site but when we arrived the restaurant was just a small bar area with no staff in sight

The food for breakfast was pretty bad. The food was cold on both days we were there, they did not have drinks, and the coffee dispenser was empty. Staff were very nice behind the desk and the room was fine. Great shower.

Window AC not working. Coffee maker broken. Phone makes strange sounds during the middle of the night. Breakfast: during breakfast hour, most stuff is already gone.

Always the best place to stay in this area! Has the best Hotel Breakfast in town! I always stay here when I travel to this area for work! Love the staff! Always 10/10 for me!

The room and hotel was clean, the location was very convenient, and the was staff friendly. The free breakfast was disappointing however. I wouldn't mind not having breakfast as much as they really need to at least have enough coffee!
