Pleasant enough Inn. Little noisy in the morning as there is an events business adjacent. Central to Penrith, motorbike parked off road no problem. Decent choice of ales. Negatives; stair carpet desperate for a clean, very scruffy outside kitchens. Would have expected a breakfast included at £100 a night, off season.

We stayed here cycling the C2C; they couldn’t have been more helpful to store the bikes even though they didn’t have much room. The water pressure in the shower is amazing. Nice pub.

A town centre pub with limited parking. No breakfast available until the chef arrives at 9 so had to drive to find a breakfast somewhere else. If I had known that I wouldn’t have stayed there

Great location and the staff are lovely. Food is delicious and excellent value with generous portions. Room and bathroom were nice and clean. Perfect for overnight stay. We make Penrith a regular stop now in our way to Scotland and the Agricultural Inn is where we stay.

Agriculture Inn is a gem! The owners are on site and give personalized attention with a smile! The room was so clean, the food and ale was so delicious, and the castle ruins are across the street. They have a nice beer garden that is well attended by locals and feels very relaxed and comfortable. Not crazy or noisy, just a nice local feel. The bathroom was very small but not an issue for us. I would definitely go back! The history of the building is also very interesting.

Noisy pub. The landlord did his best on a busy night but it is still a room above a pub with loud music downstairs. Good food. Handy to train and supermarket. The bed very uncomfortable unfortunately. Nobody around at checkout to mention this to. No parking. Had to park in the supermarket and couldn’t drag our bags over and up the stairs as we are not young people.

lovely clean room with a comfy bed and a shower with the best water pressure i have experienced this year. TBH i was only in the room and away the next morning as i was knackered from driving on arrival and had a meeting the next morning but the room and the friendly staff on arrival would suggest if I'm in the area again i would not hesitate to book..

Friendly welcome, lovely spacious room with plenty of well placed plug points. Good size bathroom with toiletries. Room was serviced every day and small bottles of water replaced. Walkable in to town centre albeit uphill on the way back. Would stay here again and would recommend.

I guess there’s bound to be a problem when no formal reception exists. I stayed 2 nights and nothing was cleaned or replaced in my room for the second day/night. No one at the bar could help. The room was ok but just over the patio and people were loud until 1 AM. Bed fair. Sheets clean. Shower good.

We had to leave very early the next morning to take part in the Macmillan Mighty Hike and the staff accommodated us, giving us instructions on how we could check ourselves out, thank you! My only complaint would be the showerhead in our room was very grimy and should be replaced, otherwise the room was excellent!

Nice staff and meal was average but okay Room was shocking and skylight window wouldn’t shut above the bed so a member of staff suggested I use towels to try and stop the draft (didn’t work as window was large and in poor state of repair) impossible to sleep, room was old, warn and not very clean although I was told it was refurbished in Nov 2024. At checkout no one was there until 9.00am but I was informed of this when I booked in, which I must say I don't remember and neither does my colleague Not impressed at all.

A really lovely place to stay in a convenient location. Helpful, friendly staff and our room was perfect. Full of character, quiet for sleeping and came with everything we needed including a coffee machine and complementary bottles of water.

Room was nice bed was very uncomfortable as it was extremely soft and you could feel the springs through the Mattress. Walls were paper thin and you could hear the pub downstairs.

Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Room and bathroom was very spacious and clean. Shower had a good water pressure. The property and room were dated and worn in areas. The out of hours entrance was not lit and visibility was very poor. Check in closed at 10pm and there was no one around in the morning to check out, breakfast was not served until 9am. I thought the hotel/inn was expensive (>£100) for what it was, I would have been satisfied with my stay had it been lower price.

Wanted to check out at 8.45am, breakfast was supposed to be served at 9, NO ONE available. Bar area locked, knocked on all doors marked private, no one around, couldn't check out. Poor servive.

We had a wonderful warm welcome at the Agricultural Inn. My bro and I stayed for 5 nights to meet our family who live in Penrith we had many wonderful breakfasts a few pints and a wonderful dinner. Everything was spot on! Meghan and Thomas along with John work tirelessly to ensure a fantastic stay and we truly appreciate their smiles and openess to share stories, they are ACES in the hospitality industry. Well appointed and clean rooms, great Pub and outside terrace close to everything on foot!!! Cheers! :D

We had to leave very early the next morning to take part in the Macmillan Mighty Hike and the staff accommodated us, giving us instructions on how we could check ourselves out, thank you! My only complaint would be the showerhead in our room was very grimy and should be replaced, otherwise the room was excellent!

Friendly welcome, lovely spacious room with plenty of well placed plug points. Good size bathroom with toiletries. Room was serviced every day and small bottles of water replaced. Walkable in to town centre albeit uphill on the way back. Would stay here again and would recommend.

We had a wonderful warm welcome at the Agricultural Inn. My bro and I stayed for 5 nights to meet our family who live in Penrith we had many wonderful breakfasts a few pints and a wonderful dinner. Everything was spot on! Meghan and Thomas along with John work tirelessly to ensure a fantastic stay and we truly appreciate their smiles and openess to share stories, they are ACES in the hospitality industry. Well appointed and clean rooms, great Pub and outside terrace close to everything on foot!!! Cheers! :D

Great location and the staff are lovely. Food is delicious and excellent value with generous portions. Room and bathroom were nice and clean. Perfect for overnight stay. We make Penrith a regular stop now in our way to Scotland and the Agricultural Inn is where we stay.

Noisy pub. The landlord did his best on a busy night but it is still a room above a pub with loud music downstairs. Good food. Handy to train and supermarket. The bed very uncomfortable unfortunately. Nobody around at checkout to mention this to. No parking. Had to park in the supermarket and couldn’t drag our bags over and up the stairs as we are not young people.

Agriculture Inn is a gem! The owners are on site and give personalized attention with a smile! The room was so clean, the food and ale was so delicious, and the castle ruins are across the street. They have a nice beer garden that is well attended by locals and feels very relaxed and comfortable. Not crazy or noisy, just a nice local feel. The bathroom was very small but not an issue for us. I would definitely go back! The history of the building is also very interesting.

Staff friendly. Room tired and bed saggy and uncomfortable. Music from bar VERY loud and audible in room - went on until midnight. No chance of sleeping. Wanted to check out at 8.45am, breakfast was supposed to be served at 9, NO ONE available. Bar area locked, knocked on all doors marked private, no one around, couldn't check out. Poor servive.

The Agricultural Inn was authentic, super friendly and comfortable. The pub and food were excellent. Our room and en suite bath were large with a comfortable bed and nice amenities. We are so happy that we chose this stay! Penrith was great too. Highest marks to the staff and owners at the Agricultural Inn! We hope to return and stay again.

My wife and I travel A Lot (like 6 months a year). This was easily one of the worst places we have ever stayed. There was tooth paste spit on the mirror, the glassware had not been cleaned, the carpet looked and felt like it had never been cleaned (ever). The room we were in had a window that was 10 feet off the floor and did not open (so no way to get out if there was a fire). The shower had mold stains and the shower head kept falling off of the wall.

Carpet on stairs going up to rooms was very dirty. The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean with nice quality dispenser of soap, shampoo & conditioner. Kettle with selection of teas, coffee & milks. The corrididor outside bedroom & stairs were not clean. Did not eat at hotel.
